Hopefully an update in the afternoon. (Most likely a tournament...and a chance for Cody "Gibby" Gibson to send my flying into the concrete)
My name is kessthemess because in NHL 09 Phil Kessel is a mess with either a penalty every two minutes or is laying on the ice with an injury...WHAT A MESS!!

Re: A Paintball BAP - Mitchel Gate
I had gone all over the country during my Paintball career, and my parents were getting tired of driving me. I knew this was the last tournment they would drive me to, and all I need for the car was $900...that means we would have to win. That was a lot of pressure on me.
Another thing causing my blood pressure to rise was that this tournament might be my last with the Mess. Tommorrow was the day of the moving draft. Teams would be able to take anyone they wanted and put them on their team...which probably meant no more Matt Parks, Peter Carey, Cody Gibson, Eric Hunter, and me on the same team. The only way we could stay together is if we came in 1st (not happening) or 2nd (which will mean we'll have to beat the Reign who are one point behind us).
What if I wasn't drafted?! Than I would still be stuck down in the rookie divison for another five tournaments. That would be just great.
Walking in I knew what was coming and I didn't even try to avoid it. Cody Gibson charged at me and sent me flying into the wall with a mouth full of hair - my third encounter with Cody "Gibby" Gibson.
Northwest Challenge
Everett, WA
Rules: 5-Man elimination. Last team with a player(s) still clean wins. First team to win 3 rounds out of 5 wins.
Paint: Draxxus Hellfire
Preliminaries: Best 3 out of 5
Mess vs. Palm Beach Vipers
Round 1: Cody was the only Mess to be eliminated as Eric stayed low and kept crawling closer while taking out 3 Vipers. Matt & Peter split the other two, easily getting us the win. Score: 1-0.
Round 2: When I was splattered, Matt was the only Mess left and somehow managed to mow down 2 before he was overpowered by the remaining 3 Vipers. Score: 1-1.
Round 3: Cody started off the round with a quick elimination. Sadly, Eric and him didn't have enough cover and were both painted, but luckily for them Matt and Peter won us the round by both getting 2 eliminations (I survived, too) Score: 2-1.
Round 4: Right after the ref blew his whistle and the round started, I took out a Viper. Peter and Cody also got one a piece before being double-teamed by the remaining two Vipers and sent to the peanut gallery, along with Eric. That left Matt and I vs. two opponents. Matt, though, just shoved me out of the way and nailed the remaining two easily, giving us the win: 3-1!
Personal Stats: 1 elimination, 3 times I survived the whole round, 1 out. (Not really a great match)
Peter Carey: 4 eliminations, 2 times he survived the whole round, 2 outs. (Not too shabby)
Matt Parks: 7 eliminations, 3 times he survived the whole round, 1 out. (Best match performance out of the whole team)
Cody Gibson: 2 eliminations, 4 outs. (Had a rough match)
Eric Hunter: 3 eliminations, 1 time he survived the whole round, 3 outs. (Not his best match, not his worst)
Semi-Finals: Best 3 out of 5
Mess (2nd place) vs. Reign (3rd place by 1 point)
(This is a must win situation if we wanted to stay in 2nd place and stay on the same team!)
Round 1: Eric's first round domination continuted as he got 3 (same as preliminaries!). Cody also got 1 elimination, right before Peter and him were painted. Matt didn't panic and eventually got the last finished off the Reign. Score: 1-0.
Round 2: Peter eliminated 2 and Eric sniped out 1. Sadly those good times didn't keep rolling, and Cody was left against the two last Reign...and...failed. Score: 1-1.
Round 3: It was original three Mess madness as all 3 of us survived. I had 1 elimination, Peter had 2, and Matt had 2 and we were up 2-1 on the scoreboard.
Round 4: Only Eric and I were eliminated as Peter had a great performance, getting 3 eliminations. Cody and Matt split the last two, winning us the round!! That means we had 2nd place locked up!! Final Score: 3-1.
Personal Stats: 1 elimination, 2 times I survived the whole round, 2 outs. (Pretty bad)
Peter Carey: 7 eliminations, 2 times he survived the whole round, 2 outs (Awesome match, he dominated!)
Matt Parks: 4 eliminations, 3 times he survived the whole round, 1 out (Pretty good match, like always)
Cody Gibson: 2 eliminations, 1 time he survived the whole round, 3 outs (Not too bad for his second tournament)
Eric Hunter: 4 eliminations, 1 time he survived the whole round, 3 outs (Nice elimination count, not so good survival count)
Finals: Best 3 out of 5
We had been to the finals before, every single time facing the Boston Paintball Factory...and losing. Now it was our turn to win.
Mess vs. Boston Paintball Factory (Skyland, Ritt, Quickel)
Round 1: The Factory of Boston Paintball was no match for Eric (2 eliminations), Matt (1 elimination), Peter (1 elimination), and Cody (1 elimination). (They did manage to get Peter and I, though) Score: 1-0.
Round 2: Eric and Cody went early. Peter also was eliminated pretty fast, but not until he "killed" one Boston paintballer. That left Matt and I against four Boston Paintball Factory's. Matt sniped out one but failed to go any further...leaving me against the trio of stars...and I didn't deliver. I was in the corner and Ritt just ran up and nailed me = bad play on my part. Score: 1-1.
Round 3: This round was a flip-flop of round 2. Matt and I were eliminated first but Cody (2 eliminations), Peter (2 eliminations) and Eric (1 elimination) won us the round and lead. Score: 2-1.
Round 4: (We could win it here) <---Sadly that wasn't the case because I was the only Mess to get an elimination. Score: 2-2.
Round 5: (Whoever wins this gets first place - a position we've been in before...and lost in) The round started off so fast and didn't even see what happened. I just ran for cover and hoped for the best. Afterwards, Eric told me he had gotten the first elimination on Jason Skyland, but then was sniped by Quickel. He then described how Cody was on a rampage and got two eliminations, while Matt got another (Nick Ritt to be exact) - leaving only Quickel. Cody had ran in for him, but was splattered right in the gut. That left Peter, Matt, and I, the original three Mess. Matt, like always, took charge and shot paintball after paintball until finally Quickel's visor was covered in orange goo and we had won our first tournament!!!!!
Final Score: 3-2!!!
Personal Stats: 1 elimination, 1 time I survived the whole round, 4 outs (terrible match)
Peter Carey: 4 eliminations, 2 times he survived the whole round, 3 outs (Nice job Peter!)
Matt Parks: 3 eliminations, 2 times he survived the whole round, 3 outs (Not his best match, but a lot better than me!)
Cody Gibson: 5 eliminations, 2 times he survived the whole round, 3 outs (Awesome match)
Eric Hunter: 4 eliminations, 2 times he survived the whole round, 3 outs (Snazzy paintballing)
First Place: Mess! - $300, 100 leaderboard points
Second Place: Boston Paintball Factory - $200, 75 leaderboard points
Third Place: Reign - $100, 50 leaderboard points
Final Rookie Leaderboard
Boston Paintball Factory - 675 points
Mess - 414 points
------------------(Get to move up a division)
Reign - 363 points
Naughty X Nature - 251 points
Thor Omega Group - 214 points
Nor Cal - 128 points
St. Pauli Reckless - 82 points
Palm Beach Vipers - 75 points
Miss-Stress - 73 points
I'll never forget the feeling of hearing the crowd erupt in cheers when Matt got that final elimination and we won the first place trophy.
I'll never forget the smiling face of Coach Little when he found out he would be our coach for another five tournaments.
I'll never forget the feeling off dodging Cody "Gibby" Gibson as he blazed past me in the parking lot.
Draft meeting later...gulp,
Mitchel, Mitchel Gate

Re: A Paintball BAP - Mitchel Gate
It was getting late. I could barely see where I was going as I entered Craig Edwin Olfoy's Meeting Room (he's our CEO) with the rest of the Mess players and staff. We each took a seat around a very peculiarly shaped table. Suddenly, we heard his voice. I had had no idea he was even in the room and I jumped out of my chair, falling right into Cody "Gibby" Gibson's long, luschious brown hair - getting a mouth full, as well as a bloody nose and a fourth encounter.
"First off, I'd like to congratulate the Mess players for getting your first win and for securing your spot in the Novice Division, on the same team. So probably you're all wondering why your here...right?" he asked. There was a few grumbles and people saying "I'm missing 'So You Think You Can Dance' for this". I just nodded.
He continued, "You're all here because I need your thoughts on who we should take in the draft. We have the opportunity to select two players from any team looking to move up a division and play harder tournaments. But, we aren't going to get someone like Phil Gomez or Scott Quickel, not that we would want Phil...I'm just saying they're gonna be real hard to get because a lot of Novice teams want 'em."
"How about we get some players like Cody here." Our coach Rick Little said.
"Definetely we will be. We're based on young players, so we'll continue to get young players. Now, I'll hand out a sheet of some prospects we're looking at and I want you guys to check off the two you most want."
"Wait, why do we even need any new players? AREN'T WE ALL GOOD ENOUGH?!" Matt yelled angrily, obviously offended.
"Yes, but in the Novice Division you'll be playing 7-man tournaments." Craig confirmed. I gulped at that.
Draft Prospects:
Ryan Smeckler - Midfield
Leon Noel - Midfield
Evan Nave - Midfield
Andrew Dellapina - Back
Alex Harrison - Forward
Kyle Hueser - Back
Jamie Chattaway - Forward
Steven Raczkowski - Forward
I looked down at the crinkled paper in front of me and started debating on who I would want on my team. Smeckler would be a pretty good player to have on the squad and Raczkowski has a sweet name...maybe those would be my two choices...hmm...
This is going to be tough,
