Salvador Rojas, a 17 year old striker from Indiana was signed by the Los Angeles Galaxy yesterday. Although he plays on the United States Under 20 squad, it is believed that he was signed as a bench player, likely for after the departure of current striker Juan Pablo Angel. "The kid shows promise, is a hard worker, listens to others, is eager to learn and has great skill" manager Bruce Arena said. Captain David Beckham also had nothing but praise for the teen, "He is great tactically, and has a great knowledge for the game"
Only time will tell if he is worth the hype. Time might be foreshadowed, though, as Rojas might see time in the coming friendlies. He will wear #13 since his number 2 is being used.

Rojas Picked for International Friendly, Can't Stop Holland

            Netherlands @ USA
            3-1
            '12 Donovan
            '24 Sneijder
            '52 Sneijder
            '79 Sneijder

The US got off to a good start against Holland yesterday. This good start was short lived as Wesley Sneijder stole the show for the Netherlands. Scoring a hat trick, he tore through the defense and punished Tim Howard. 17 year old striker Salvador Rojas saw an entire half of play after Chris Wondolowski got a yellow card in the 1st half. Club teammate and co-captain of the US Men's National Team Landon Donovan recommended him to coach Jürgen Klinsmann, saying "He is a great player and a true professional on and off the field. He conducts himself in the proper way off the pitch and can add a much needed boost to the attack of this year's world cup squad if he continues to play as he is in Major League Soccer and US U-20". In his 45 minutes in the game, Rojas had 1 shot on goal out of 2 total and one of his crosses sailed just over the bar off the head of Clint Dempsey.
