The World Cup - My Way (WC2010)

    PREMISE
After finally getting my hands on World Cup 2010 last week, I've gone a little crazy.
I'm an avid soccerfootball (whatever you want to call it) fan, and I've always enjoyed soccer videogames. My goal with this thread is to run qualification for my own version of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. I will CPU v CPU every game and report the results right here. There will be a separate thread for the actual World Cup, this is just qualifying. Thanks to OliDegu2008 for giving me a great template to work with! Here are the details:

    Final Tournament

    - 30 teams

    - Six groups of five teams

    - Hosted in Spain (2x Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao host cities)

    - Host (Spain), 10 UEFA (Europe) qualifiers, 3 CONCACAF (North America) qualifiers, 3 AFA (Asia) qualifiers, 5 CONMEBOL (South America) qualifiers, 1 (Oceania) qualifier, 5 CAF (African) qualifiers.

    - 11th European team, 4th North American team, 6th South American team, and 4th Asian team will play in 4-team play-in tournament, to be held in February 2010 in Portugal.

    QUALIFYING FORMATS

    Europe
    - 10 groups of 5 teams
    - First-place in group automatically qualifies for FIFA World Cup Finals
    - Best 2nd-place team goes to International Play-In

    South America
    - 2 groups of 6 teams
    - Top 2 teams in each group automatically qualify for FIFA World Cup Finals
    - 3rd-place teams play a play-off in January 2010 in Rio De Janeiro, Brasil. Winner heads directly to FIFA World Cup Finals, the loser heads to Portugal for the International Play-In

    North America
    - 5 groups of 4 teams in preliminary round
    - Top 2 teams in each group advance to final qualifying round
    - 2nd Qualifying Round: 2 Groups of 5 teams
    - Group winners advance to FIFA World Cup Finals, as does best 2nd-place team
    - Other 2nd-place team heads to International Play-In

    Asia
    - 2 groups of 4 teams
    - Group winners head directly to FIFA World Cup Finals
    - Two 2nd-place teams play each other in a home-and-away, the winner goes straight to FIFA World Cup Finals, the loser to the International Play-in.

    Africa
    - 5 groups of 4 teams
    - First place in each group goes to FIFA World Cup Finals

    Oceania
    - 1 group of 4
    - First place advances to FIFA World Cup Finals
    * Australia part of Oceania

    ************************************************** ***************************
I'm going to start with the little associations and progressively work my way towards the biggest fish of them all, UEFA (Europe).
