First of all, that's Championship Manager 2000/01 (a Soccer game, for those who are unaware of the pre-Football Manager era). I've recently rediscovered the game and felt it would be a relatively easy write-up for a dynasty. The game itself is very much a "pick up and play game" and doesn't take much time to set up and get playing. It's a very simple game as you'll be able to tell by some of the screenshots I take and upload It also isn't as specific as the games are today, which is to be expected. Anyway, on we go. I'll be managing Malta, which is where the title of this comes from as it's in the national anthem.
Malta is located in Southern Europe, just south of Italy, as shown on this lovely map here. As you can see, it's not that big of a country so my talent pool is limited. Looks pretty nice though!

We are ranked at 121 in the world out of 205 teams, which isn't that bad but I'll be hoping to break 100. Now Malta are not one of the best European teams, and it was still the same back in 2000. They don't have any hugely recognisable players and lack a lot of quality throughout the squad. To be honest, the only player I recognise is Michael Mifsud, who played for Coventry in the English Championship in the late 2000s.
As I'm starting at the start of the 2000-01 season, I start at the qualifying for the 2002 World Cup, with the group here:

My aim for this qualification period is to try and attempt to get 4th place. Championship Manager is a little bit easier than the current Football Manager series, so points are easier to come by. What is also nice about this game is that I'm able to do "print-outs" which result in that I can use code to help with results.
That is the introductory post over anyway. Forthcoming posts will be a lot more structured and look a bit slicker than this.
I'd like any suggestions on improvements I can make to the layout of my posts etc or just any thoughts in general please!
