    WCW 2013 - What if Scenario(Booking)

What if WCW fully existed in 2013?
What if Eric Bischoff actually was able to purchase the company?
What if they continued to go at war with WWE?
    Would they do better?
    Would they do worse?

My friends, this is an attempt at bringing WCW into the new generation, using Fire Pro Returns, the game. Why Fire Pro? Because of the level of depth the game gives, especially on the simulation side.

I will be using Desertpunk's WCW 2013 Redux roster, and following his whole guidelines.

For those wondering, here are the guidelines that he's laid out about the show.

*Tuesday Night hosts WCW Resurrection, this is WCW's flagship show that has been on the air since WCW landed on FX. In this timeline WCW began airing on FX long before NipTuck and other shows elevated the network. In this timeline, it is a steady prime time ratings draw.
*Wednesday night is for THUNDER which airs on WGN and has since WWE Superstars parted ways with WGN. It is the B show and only a hour long.
*Come late Saturday nights on FX it's time for WCW Saturday Night. It's easily the C show It's more kin to the current NXT product if anything else. This is were GCW talent debuts for the most part.
*Georgia Championship Wrestling was reopened in name only, it is the current developmental promotion for WCW. It's offices are right across from the Powerplant and they host events weekly.
*The Current WCW is financially sound and can acquire any top tier talent they wish. They have been known to steal or sign talent away from WWE. However they are a clear #2 promotion to this timelines WWE.
*This WCW is leagues beyond TNA however and even farther over ROH who in this timeline struggles to keep talent even more.
    *Fall Brawl hosts War Games.
*WW3 is basically the Royal Rumble with the winner facing the champ at Starrcade.
*Spud's note: Cause of the lack of a true 30 man rumble, we're just going to do 4 8-man battle royales and have the winners face off in a 4 man battle royale.
*Bash at the Beach is centered around a 1 night 16 man Tournament.

    TV Shows
Tuesday: WCW Resurrection on FX(6-8 matches)
    Wednesday: THUNDER on WGN(4-5 matches)

    Re: WCW 2013 - What if Scenario(Booking)

    Starrcade Report:
On this night, a new champion was crowned. It took 20 long, hard hitting minutes, but Samoa Joe's reign ended with David Bautista getting him with the Bautista Bomb. Samoa Joe looked great, locking in the Coquina Clutch near the end of the match, but Bautista was able to do the impossible and break up the submission hold with a desperate burst of energy. This surge ended with him pinning Joe for the three count. Only time will tell if Joe will get a rematch clause.

Christopher Daniels and Chris Jericho had a 15 minute match in the co-main event where neither man was able to take full advantage. Daniels, a recent addition to the World Title Division, worked to prove that he belonged there. Jericho tried to put Daniels in a small package, but Daniels reversed it into one of his own, and ended up winning the match with that move.

The US Champion, Tomasso Ciampa was accompanied to the ring by his manager, Goldberg, who sees something in the young man. Ciampa had a hard match against the quicker El Generico, who used his speed to take Ciampa off guard. However, one missed move from Generico enabled Ciampa to almost knock his head clean off, then hit Project Ciampa to get the victory and retain his title.

In tag team action, Killer Elite defended their tag titles against Bad Intentions in a tornado tag team match. All four men were beating the heck out of each other. Karl Anderson had Harry Smith right where he wanted him, and picked him up for the Gun Stun. Archer quickly threw Bernard into the steel steps, then rushed into the ring to big boot Anderson in the face. Moments Later, The Killer Bomb was hit, and 1...2....3. Defense made.

Kana competed for the Women's title against champion LuFisto. Kana looked to be dominated early by LuFisto, but after Awesome Kong came down to watch the match, LuFisto seemed to be a bit focused on her. Kana took full advantage. LuFisto was able to shake it off and come back, but a quick Kana Lock in the middle of the ring ended the match as LuFisto had nothing to do but tap out.

William Regal had to train to get back into ring-shape to face the TV champion Christian York. The match started as a friendly competition, but not for long as both men began trying to beat the hell out of each other. With the ref down, Regal slipped on the brass knuckles to try to end the match, but York had other plans, ducking the Power of the Punch then hitting the Mood Swing to get a three count victory. Regal got a standing ovation from both the crowd and York before heading to the back.

In a triple threat match, Low Ki had to defend his cruiserweight title against not only PAC but Akira Tozawa. Ki was outpaced by PAC, who seemed to just be on a roll for a decent part of the match, until Tozawa just made PAC slow down, by Missile Dropkicking him right in the head. Ki and Tozawa tried to work over PAC, and they succeeded, until Ki tried to dump Tozawa over the top rope to fight PAC alone. Ki took PAC down with the Ki Krusher, then headed up top to end the match. Akira rushed in, hitting Ki with a kick, knocking him to ringside, then hitting PAC with the Tozawa Driver '07 for the victory.

Other results included House of Truth's victory against Corino and Rhodes, Danielson and Morishima defeating Cage and Roode, and Montel Porter beating one of his more recent rivals, Chris Moore.

    Full Results:
David Bautista d. Samoa Joe(c) to win the World Heavyweight Title
    Christopher Daniels d. Chris Jericho
Tomasso Ciampa(c) w/Goldberg d. El Generico to defend the US Title
Killer Elite(c) d. Bad Intentions to defend the Tag Titles
Kana d. LuFisto(c) to win the Women's Title
Christian York(c) d. William Regal to defend the TV Title
Akira Tozawa d. PAC and Low Ki(c) to win the Cruiserweight Title
    HoT(Jake Hagar/Chris Hero) d. Steve Corino/Dustin Rhodes
    Bryan Danielson/Takeshi Morishima d. Christian Cage/Bobby Roode
    Montel Porter d. Chris Moore
Dark Match(WCW): Chris Harris d. Mike Mondo
Dark Match(GCW): Sami Callihan d. Curt Hawkins

Thanks man. You might see a few unexpected people added on and released, since the save has a lot of 'free agents' on it. It'll be a bit like TEW or EWR without the ratings.

Simming WCW Resurrection right now, results soon.

                  Notes: Results are done

                  Low Ki vs Sonjay Dutt
A matchup of interesting proportions, Dutt took quick advantage, catching Ki and everyone completely off guard. You could feel the desperation in Ki as he tried to fight back, hitting 2 straight Ki Krushers, not able to get anything but near falls on both of them. Dutt battled back with some flash pins for nearfalls, and his moonsault double foot stomp for another nearfall. Dutt kept up his assault, but a missed opportunity led to the Ki Krusher, and Ki got the hard fought victory.

Winner: Low Ki in 19:03(Game Time) with the Ki Krusher

                  Shigehiro Irie vs Phil Shatter
In a TV Division match, two powerhouses went at it, both threatening to take each other out with Suplexes and hard shots. Irie gave everything he had, but Phil Shatter seemed to be able to take all of it, as well as dish out even more. After a big gutwrench powerbomb on the outside from Shatter, Irie was put back into the ring, when moments later, Shatter would hit the Jackhammer, looking a bit like Goldberg in the moment, as he would pick up the victory.

Winner: Phil Shatter in 19:27(Game Time) with the Jackhammer

All Night Xpress vs Bad Intentions
This wasn't a regular match, by all means. When Bad Intentions walk into the ring, you know a fight could break out at any moment. It did, and everything was quickly thrown out the window as they brawled partway through the match. Kenny King almost got counted out by the referee, as Bad Intentions kept swinging. However, ANX tried to pick up the tempo, saving themselves from several near falls. Titus quickly got on a roll and took down A-Train with a Northern Lights Suplex, getting the three and the win.

Winners: All Night Xpress in 23:05 (Game Time) with the Northern Lights Suplex.
                  (Titus over A-Train)

After the match, A-Train and Anderson bickered about Anderson not making the save in time. Could these former Tag Team Champions be hitting some kind of bumpy road right now? Will they break up over losing the belts? Find out.

Bryan Danielson met up with the WCW Comissioner, Scott Norton, not in a very good mood. Danielson demanded to be given the opportunity to be in a WCW World Heavyweight Title match, to which the response from Norton was 'Alright, you shrimp, you want a shot at Bautista for the World Title? Go out next week and beat Christopher Daniels!' Christopher Daniels beat Chris Jericho at Starrcade, can he pull off a win against Danielson?

Mad Man Glenn Jacobs vs Montel Porter
Jacobs looked to be dominate early on, but for some reason, Porter just kept slowing down the big man. Porter came back, attacking Glenn's head area, and seemed to be getting success out of that. Though it didn't last long, as Jacobs then snapped, and powerbombed the holy hell out of Montel. Then it was the end, as Glenn raised up Montel, and began to apply a neck submission with both hands, causing Montel to tap out, giving Glenn the victory, but that wasn't enough, as he then slammed Porter on the canvas with full force, a grin on his face.

Winner: Glenn Jacobs in 18:22(Game Time) with a Neck-Hanging Choke

Tomasso Ciampa w/Goldberg vs Jay Lethal
You think Goldberg would intimidate Lethal, but he seemed to not effect Lethal at all, as Lethal fought Ciampa. Ciampa used his power and hard hitting style to attempt to put away Lethal, but Lethal seemed to be a step ahead. Lethal would quickly fight back, trying to make a comeback, but was stopped from Ciampa. Ciampa looked at Goldberg, who told him to finish Lethal, but Lethal was able to stop the onslaught once again, and lock in a figure four in the middle of the ring. The move most known for being the most deadly move of Ric Flair made the US Champion do nothing but tap out. Goldberg was not happy at the result, and shouted at Ciampa. Lethal will probably get a title shot out of this victory, and why shouldn't he?

Winner: Jay Lethal in 20:43(Game Time) with the Figure-Four Leg Lock

Jake Hagar(w/Chris Hero and Truth Martini) vs Claudio Castagnoli
In a match where Claudio was obviously distracted by former tag partner, Chris Hero, he looked off. Jake Hagar was able to drive Claudio to several near falls, but Claudio would not go down for the three. Claudio fought back, got several near falls, but Truth Martini slid in a chair while the ref was distracted, and began to climb on the apron to distract the ref. To a point where him and Hero were thrown out of the match. Claudio shook off the cobwebs and came back strong, ending the match with a Kenka kick, getting the win.

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli in 19:02(Game Time) with the Kenka Kick

Unfortuantly, Claudio couldn't celebrate for long, as Hero ran down to the ring, and quickly gave his former partner a rolling elbow, as Truth Martini then cut a promo in the ring telling Claudio he got lucky... That if Martini didn't get thrown out, Claudio would've lost completely. We'll see if this thing continues, but I think Claudio's going to be out for revenge.

Main Event: Samoa Joe vs Takeshi Morishima
Big Beast + Big Beast = Two Big Beasts in a fight. And that's exactly what it was, one massive brawling fight, where both men were looking to knock each other out. It wasn't about pinning someone for a three count in this case, they were going for a straight knock out or tap out. The match was the fastest of the night at 16 and a half minutes, but it might have been the hardest hitting. Morishima nailed Joe with a powerbomb, his head bouncing off the mat, and began to light up Joe with shots, but Joe hit back harder, hitting a massive dropkick, and several shots to Morishima's chest. Morishima got locked in the Coquina Clutch and tapped out to the move.

Winner: Samoa Joe in 16:35(Game Time) with the Coquina Clutch

David Bautista walked down to the ring after the match, telling Samoa Joe to leave the ring. Joe took a look at the World Title, and motioned that it would be his again, then left the ring, heading to the back. Bautista then cut a promo, saying that Starrcade was his night, where he proved that he was the best wrestler in the company. He proved it not only to himself, but to the idiot fans as well! He states that he's going to do this for himself, to screw the fans, because he walks alone, he's always walked alone. He drops the mic to a series of boos, then leaves the ring, holding up the World Heavyweight Title to end the show.

I have a lot more of great talents on that roster. I've got to say, as a WCW 2013 roster thrown as a what if, it's actually quite good, and I could see it happening.

All I can do is hope the game cooperates, which it mostly has so far.

NJPW does not have a US partner, since TNA dropped the ball in their second year of working with them. Rumored names talked about that have aligned with NJPW are Shelton Benjamin, Jushin Liger, Taka Michinoku, Masato Tanaka, and even guys like Alex Shelley and Tetsuya Naito.
