The Pitch Is Yours, The David Roberts Story, A Manger Dynasty On FIFA 14 (X-Box 360)

Hello everyone. This is my FIFA 14 Manager Dynasty. It is going to follow the life and career of David Roberts, a young scout given his first chance of being a manager. I will be controlling one team, L.A. Galaxy.

    Here are the settings:

Roster: Latest Roster, Downloaded February 8th 2014
    GamePlay Customization: Normal
    Quarter Length: 10 Minutes
Difficulty Level: Professional, will change if I blow out opponent
    Game Speed: Normal

I will be doing this as a story too. It is going to follow his career on and off the pitch. The MLS is the setting, but it will be focusing on his life too.

There will be 3 ways I post to this:
1- From David Roberts point of view
    2- From a news reporter
    3- Game recaps

    The Day My Life Changed

    February 1st, 2013

Another day of watching film and calling coaches. That was what I thought at least.

I woke up to a blaring alarm clock. I got out of bed and made sure Michelle, my wife, was up. I did my normal morning routine. Ate breakfast, woke up James, my son, and got my scouting files together.

"Another day, another dollar." I said to myself as I went into my office.

I turned on the TV to SportsCenter as I always did. Then what I saw shocked me. Bruce Arena, our manager, had been fired.

At that moment I was called to the main office, by the board.

"Hello Mr.Roberts." One of the board members said.

"Hello." I said, worried about my job status.

"Don't be afraid Mr.Robert, your not getting fired. We're going to interview you to become the manager of the team."

"Th...That's awesome." I stuttered out in excitement.

"Now if you would just answer a couple of questions for us."

"Sure." I said right away, it had always been my dream to become a manger of a professional team.

"Okay, if you could do any roster transactions what would you do?"

"Well we are a major contender in the MLS, and we have one of the biggest soccer markets in the United States. However we lack a true star player, besides Landon Donovan. If we could get another star player such as Wayne Rooney, we could be the best team in the MLS. Also I would invest in trying to find a good young goal keeper and a new defender or two."

"Interesting, if we do all that is the rest of the team capable of being championship caliber?"

"We have capable players at most positions, however down the line I'm not opposed to getting other players for those positions."

The rest of the interview went on for at least another hour or two.

"Okay David, we'll let you know if you get the job or not."

    "Okay" I said.

I knew they were interviewing other candidates and was worried when I got back to my office and saw some of the people that were interviewing for the job.

They had experience and knew how to run a team, whereas I know very little.

      Bruce Arena Out In L.A.

      February 3, 2013

In a surprising move the Los Angeles Galaxy have decided to fire manager Bruce Arena. The board members were quoted as saying "We need new blood and a new style."

We don't know if the rest of the staff will remain or not.

The board members have promised a new manager and decisions with the coaching staff and players, to be made in 3 days at most.

So far we know of 3 candidates:

David Roberts, an unknown scout who if hired would be the youngest manager of a pro major league soccer team.

Eric Wynalda, a retired player and former Cal FC coach.

Predrag Radosavljević, another former player who is currentlyserving as coach of an american expansion team.

****That was the first News Paper form update, when I do the news reporter way it will either be an interview or newspaper article. The people who I "have" write the articles or do the interviewing are two brothers Simon and Zach Richardson.****

David Roberts Named New Manager Of L.A. Galaxy

        February 5, 2013

Los Angeles Galaxy has named it's new manager. 28 year old David Roberts has been named the new manager. David Roberts is now the youngest manager ever in the MLS. We don't know a lot about him, but we do know that he is a graduate of Stanford University with a major in business. He also played soccer from the time he was born to his last year in college.

We will have a full interview with him up later this week.

          David Roberts Interview

          February 6, 2013

These questions were asked by me, Simon Richardson, and my brother Zach. We asked them to new Los Angeles Galaxy manager David Roberts.

Q: How is it to be a manager of a professional team?
          A: It's surreal, I mean it's been my dream since I was a kid.

Q: Are you planning any player transactions?
A: Yes, but I do not have any specific players in mind.

Q: Are you keeping the current staff?
A: For the most part, however I might hire a new scout or two.

There were a lot more questions, however these were some of the more important ones.

            First Day On The Job

            February 6, 2013

It was my first official day on the job. I was officially the Manager of the Los Angeles Galaxy. I walked into the building that day with a giant smile on my face.

"Hey Dave" I said to Dave Sarachan, our assistant head coach.

            "Congratulations."

"Thanks, can we talk for a minute."

            "Yeah, what about?"

"I'm thinking about changing our formation."

We mostly ran a 4-3-3, however I wanted to turn us into a 4-4-2, it would be hard to adjust but I trusted that Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane could be great offenders in the new system. We had good enough midfielders for the time being and the defense could hold its own I felt. The only position I know I want upgrading is goalkeeper right now.

            "What to?" Asked Dave.

            "4-4-2."

"If everyone can learn that formation by the start of the season, we should be in great shape."

"Can you tell everyone we're changing formations?"

            "Yeah, sure."

My first day as manager was going well. All that was left for the most part was hiring some new scouts.
