Manager's Notes: (basically my thoughts on transfer, games, players, season etc)
-So many GK because Lee was horrible first 3 games and put him up for transfer but no takers. Got 2 new ones as didn't have transfer funds to buy good replacement so loan and Free Agents were cheap replacements, and no one bid for Lee so stuck with 4 til January .
-Rotating GK Wellenreuther/Abogo for regular season see which does better and GK Chapman for Cups. GK Lee ride the pine ..
- All players on loan just regular season loans none loan to buy.
- lots loan/free agents as squad needs depth and small budget.
- Will try to establish Youth Academy but only able afford 1*/1* Scout to start Academy

Youth Academy: Story #1

-Manager Stumpf has used club funds to send out 3 highly rated scout in hopes of bringing back hidden gems. The club will scout in any country as talent doesn't know borders. Academies are currently being built in Germany, Brazil, Ireland , and Argentina. Future Academies are set for USA, France, Italy, Holland and Spain. Stumpf hopes to sign 2-3 promising youngsters at the end of the season to infuse the squad with energy. Chesterfield told Stumpf that although they will agree to spend money to scout, develop , and build academies it doesn't change the fact that there still is limited budget for players and if any of the kids show real promise they will probably be loaned out then play a year or two with Chesterfield before being sold on as Chesterfields Board will be all ears to any and all offers for most of their youngsters . Stumpf said he will adjust and he hopes to turn Chesterfield into a solid team and one with quality finances to back all the progress of the players, coaches, trainers, and scouts so they don't do all the hard work just to lose the finished talent to a bigger club. Maybe a new investor can bring in money so we aren't sellers and if I can keep the ram winning we will eventually have enough profits Stumpf told a recent supporters club gathering. We will see if the young Spirites can reward Stumpfs faith he has in the Youth Academy and they would be worth spending the clubs profits to keep them around longer than normal at Chesterfield.

The pressure is on Manager Stumpf even though he was hired very late to start the season and many players became discontent with Stumpfs change in playing style he still managed to get Chesterfield to the top of the standings with 11 games to go after today's huge tilt vs Preston. In the final 11 games Chesterfield play (6) teams in the bottom half and (5) from the top half. No matter the outcome today Chesterfield will still be in 1 st place with the 11 games to go but they can make a huge step today to not only securing a playoff birth for a shot at promotion but but a win would propel them into the front runner spot to claim automatic promotion with a strong finish and claiming League 1 title or a solid finish and still claim # 2 spot in the League 1 standings which would also mean automatic promotion. Chesterfield fans aren't thinking playoffs or second place right now it's game time vs Preston and they want the League 1 Crown.

"Chesterfield play solid game as home crowd gives Chesterfield momentum to win clash 2-0. Chesterfield took the lead on a ST C.Lavery goal and the game stayed close into the second half. It was a pair of late subs connecting for the 2nd goal to put the game out of reach. LM Ar and ST J.Loza came on late in the second half . In the 81' , Ariyibi took the ball down the left win and turned ball inside beating his defender as the remaining Preston defender decided to try to stop Ariyibi and left Loza wide open in the 8 yard box and Ariyibi fired a perfect pass beyond the last defender and in front of the Goalie right to Loza who buried the pass into the net with a one timer. Chesterfields fans stood for the final 10 minutes and a huge cheer went up with the final whistle as Chesterfield put some distance between them and #2 Preston. "Rain and undisciplined play wasted a great performance by Bristol City GK F.Fielding who put on a show to keep his team from being blown out with 16 saves. Bristol City picked up two yellow cards in the first half when they were only down 1-0. Then shortly into the second half the dirty play continued after Chesterfield scored a quick goal into the half to make it 2-0 . Bristol City seemed to loose all control and an ugly tackle just outside the box saw Bristol City's Ayling sent off with a direct red and left them down a man for the rest of the game.
