Never Before: A Port Vale Manager Mode (FIFA 18)

Hello everyone, welcome to my log for my Port Vale manager mode! I am taking over Port Vale FC in the English League Two and on the road to the Premier League! I hope y'all enjoy following along.

    House Rules
    Half Length: 8 Minutes
    Difficulty: Legendary
    Sliders: None (for now)
Free Transfers: 1 per season (can't be better than 80 overall)
    Max Squad Size: 35
    English Percent (Explained Below): 80% > 70% > 40% > 30%

I have decided I will implement a rule that requires my squad to have a certain percentage of players of English nationality. If you look at the squad breakdown of teams in professional English football you'll find numbers similar to what I have above. This will require me to scout for youth talent in England every year.

Finally, to give y'all an idea of how I will be working this.. I actually will not be playing games until my team makes it to the Premier League (I MIGHT consider playing games in the Championship, but we will see). So the first few seasons of updates will focus on player signings, youth development, and financial goals. Once we reach the Premier League I will start playing games and posting about them.

I hope y'all enjoy following along, I'm excited to get this rolling!

    Port Vale FC: A History

Port Vale FC was founded in 1876 and is based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Despite their 142 years of history, Port Vale have never played in the top flight of English football, giving them the record for most years played without playing in the top division (105). Vale Park, with a capacity just over 19,000 has been home to the Valiants since 1950. The club has been up and down over the years, moving between flights 2-4 of English football. Port Vale's most successful seasons took place in the 50s when the club made a run to the FA Cup semi-finals (1954). Recently, however, the Valiants have struggled to sustain any success, and at the end of the 2017 campaign Port Vale was relegated to English League Two.
