Re: Ruthless Aggression | A WWE 2K20 Universe

Immediately following the last match of Summerslam, fans were getting ready to head for the exits after an exciting show, but all of a sudden Vince McMahon's music started blaring from the speakers and he entered the ring and grabbed a microphone. "Hey folks, stop right there! You're going to get a whole lot more than you paid for tonight as I have a major announcement to make!" The fans returned to their seats as everyone eagerly awaited the words of a very smug looking Vince McMahon.

"Several weeks ago, there were rumours of a brand split, where the roster would be divided evenly on two brands to allow all talents to be more prominently showcased. Now, that obviously didn't happen, and many of you may have heard the rumours that the idea was scrapped on a whim by yours truly. Well, those rumours were wrong, dammit, because we're going to have a WWE Draft and split these brands right here, right now! Let me introduce to you the new general managers of Smackdown!"

"Here Comes the Money" blasted from the speakers as Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon, looking every bit as smug as their father, made their way down to the ring. Vince once again spoke, "And of course, if we're going to have a draft, we'll need a second brand and a second leader. Well, many years ago I thought up the brilliant idea of RAW is WAR, a show that kickstarted the Attitude Era, and I'm going to bring it back and take over as general manager once again." Stephanie beckoned for the mic and Vince handed it to her, "Well if you're done with the build-up daddy, let's start this draft. I think it's only right that as CEO and Vice Chairman you get the #1 Overall Pick."

Vince smiled and grabbed the microphone again, "Well it wouldn't be RAW is WAR without the man who personified the Attitude Era now would it? With the number one overall pick in the WWE Draft, I select... STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN!" The crowd exploded into cheers as Austin, still beaten up from his earlier encounter with the new Nation of Domination walked down to the ring and shook hands with Mr. McMahon. Then Shane spoke up, "Great pick, but look we're going to do you one better and do you (pointing to Austin) a favour as well. With the second overall pick in the WWE Draft, we select the most electrifying man in ALL of sports entertainment, the Great One, the People's Champion and the WWE Champion, The Rock!" The Rock came down to the ring and the McMahons stood in between him and Austin to prevent a brawl from breaking out between the two. Vince's pick was up again.

"I'm feeling nostalgic, so why don't I go ahead and take a guy that was responsible for WWE's success in the early 90s. The Immortal Hollywood Hulk Hogan!" Once Hogan made his way to the ring, Shane McMahon revealed that his next pick would be the most promising prospect and rising star in the company, The Beast, Brock Lesnar. Vince followed that by selecting the rest of the nWo, and Stephanie and Shane also grabbed a tag team of their own in the Brothers of Destruction.

Vince made an announcement to the crowd, "I will be debuting a new championship tomorrow night, the World Heavyweight Championship. A selection of superstars that I choose will compete in a match for that title tomorrow to determine who our first major champion is on RAW. However, we're going to determine our first secondary champion right here right now, because I'm taking the Big Show and his United States Championship!" Realizing that they also needed a secondary title, Stephanie announced that Smackdown! would be drafting Randy Orton in order to keep rights to the Intercontinental Championship. She also stated that Smackdown! would be debuting a new women's only title, the Divas Championship, and that she would be the inaugural champion.

Vince followed this up by drafting the Women's Champion, Lita, while Stephanie and Shane picked the Nation of the Domination and subsequently the rights to the WWE Tag Team Championships. Vince announced that he would also be debuting new tag titles called the World Tag Team Championships, that would also be competed for the following night on RAW.

The rest of the draft (and summary of the live picks) went as follows:

WWE also announced that the pay-per-view schedule would be changing. Additionally, Booker T, who was drafted to RAW would still keep his guaranteed anytime-anywhere shot at the title that he won via King of the Ring, but it was being renamed to the RAW is WAR King of the Ring, while Smackdown! would have the Smackdown! King of the Ring briefcase. Superstars from each roster would only be able to appear on the show they were signed to, however there would be measures in place for stars to switch shows, although the WWE was fuzzy on the details for that. It was also announced that the cruiserweight and hardcore titles would now be effectively defunct with Eddie Guerrero and Batista announced respectively as the last-reigning champions.

September Week 1 | Fort Worth, TX

Match #1: One on One Normal | Maria Kanellis vs. Lita
Who better to open up the first episode of RAW is WAR's return than Lita, the Women's Champion? She kicked things off on Vince McMahon's show with a match against newcomer, Maria Kanellis. Maria looked like a fish out of water to start things as she was powerless to defend against the women's champion, but when she did the unthinkable and kicked out of Lita's patent diving moonsault at 2, things started to turn. She put together a bit of offense and even hit Lita with a heavy spike DDT, but eventually Lita showed why she's the Women's Champion, hitting a Twist of Fate on Maria and following that up with a second diving moonsault to pick up the victory. Lita celebrated in the ring post-match, but while she was atop the turnbuckle, Chyna came running in from the stage. She pulled Lita off the top rope, causing her to hit her head on the top turnbuckle, and then beat the living hell out of her before standing over her with the women's title held high in the air. Chyna clearly hasn't forgotten Lita's count out victory at Summerslam, and wants a second shot at that championship by any means possible.
        Winner: Lita by pinfall.

Match #2: Two on Two Tag Team | Hardy Boyz vs. Truth & Consequences
Prior to the start of the next match, Vince McMahon came out to talk to the fans and explain that they need to crown a new World Tag Team Champions on RAW is WAR. A tournament would take place over the next few weeks with the Hardy Boyz taking on Truth & Consequences and nWo facing the Hart Foundation in the next match. The winners of these two matches would face each other next week for the titles. Jeff and Truth started out the bout, with Truth working Jeff in the corner to allows some double teaming with Kendrick. Jeff was being overpowered for a bit was eventually able to tag in Matt to bring in some energy to their team. Matt clearly had the advantage against Kendrick and eventually hit him with a Side Effect and Twist of Fate but R-Truth broke up the pin. Later, Truth was tagged in and started to shift the tide towards his team, but Matt was able to get a hot tag to his brother. With time to recover now, Jeff came in like a house on fire and overwhelmed R-Truth, hitting him with a Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb while Matt prevented Kendrick from breaking up the pin to get the win. Hardyz advance to the championship match next week.
        Winners: Hardy Boyz by pinfall,

Match #3: Two on Two Tag Team | nWo vs. Hart Foundation
Kevin Nash and Scott Hall took on Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart in tag team action without the nWo leader. Of course, as usual, the nWo had no interest in fairness. They assaulted the Harts from behind during their entrance, throwing them all around the ramp like ragdolls before the bell could even ring. The referee asked Bret if he wanted to continue the match, and of course the Hitman refused to back down from the challenge. However, he and Jim were picked apart by Hall and Nash who quickly dispatched them for the win and a spot in the World Tag Team Championship match next week.
        Winners: nWo by pinfall.

Main Event: Fatal 4-Way | Hollywood Hogan vs. Goldberg vs. Sting vs. Steve Austin | World Heavyweight Championship
With a new RAW is WAR show, a new world champion was needed and that's exactly what Mr. McMahon planned to crown with this main event match. The top four superstars on the roster would face off to become the inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the banner carrier for the show. The two WCW stars, Goldberg and Sting focused on each other initially while arguably the two most influential figures in the Monday Night Wars, Austin and Hogan faced off. Eventually all four got in the mix with each other though as we saw the best RAW is WAR has to offer go at it. At one point, Goldberg looked to have the match won after hitting Hogan with a jackhammer while Austin and Sting lay knocked out outside the ring, but the nWo's leader kicked out miraculously at 2. A puzzled Goldberg hit Hogan with a second one, but by that time Austin had recovered to break it up. The ensuing melee between the two bald-headed stars ended up with a Stunner from Austin, but Sting got involved before the Texas Rattlesnake could get the pin. By this point all four guys had recovered and they tried to keep the action to the ring, exchanging their best blows with each other. Things came to a head when Goldberg hit Sting with a powerslam while Steve Austin superplexed Hogan off the top rope. By the time Austin recovered, Goldberg was laying crouched in wait for him and ran full-speed into him with the spear. A lifeless Austin couldn't do anything to kick out and with Hogan and Sting both incapacitated, Goldberg was able to pin the face of the Attitude Era 1, 2, 3 and become the inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
        Winner: Goldberg by pinfall.
