          Yup..and its not over yet.

VERY good chance we close with a 5 star RB, 2 4 star DTs, a 5 star WR, and a 4 star DE.

If it doesn't end up being the #1 class, it will be damn near close.

Yeah, I think auburn surprised a lot of people, including myself, with the recruiting class they put together this year. Chizik and co has done a great job this year, my hats off to them

4 star WVU QB committ Barry Brunetti is reportedly a soft verbal now. He is going to visit Louisville this weekend.

How many scholarships can Auburn fill? Every time I check this thread they get 2 more commitments.

                  33.

Due to early enrollees, etc. Auburn can legitimately sign 33 this year.

                  Have 5 scholly's left after Mack's commitment.

Updated projections of AU's final five (according to folks who are batting about 1.000 so far this year in their guesses).

                  1. 4 star DT Jeffrey Whitaker
                  2. 4 star DT Byran Jones
                  3. 4 star DE Corey Lemonier
                  4. 5 star RB Marcus Lattimore
                  5. 5 star WR Markeith Ambles (Trooper was at Ambles HS yesterday, wants him bad)

That would put the finishing touches on arguably the best class in the nation from top to bottom (although Florida has an insane class themselves). Regardless, it will be a stellar class. Kudos to Chizik and Co. They aren't playing around when it comes to bringing in elite talent.

This just in: Christian Jones is lookin' @ AUBURN

                    j/k AA

5* OLB prospect Christian Jones has been working in a credit retrieval program to try to pull up some of his grades. He is doing it to try and meet the Notre Dame admissions and is leaning that way.
                    stay tuned...

One player will likely decommit to Clemson and one or two of the lower ranked players probably won't qualify. That would leave four or five spots for Lattimore, Lemonier, Whitaker, and Ambles.

DJ Howard is solid to Auburn after his visit last week, and was told repeatedly he would be playing runningback. I would be surprised if he started off at any other position.

5 of our commits enrolled early and count back to last years class, so pretty much after all is said and done a couple guys will probably not qualify, and if they do then a couple of them must be convinced that grayshirting is a good idea.

Just because they enroll early, doesn't mean they back count. They still count towards the '10 class number of 28.

No they don't. We had 5 spots to count back to last year, and we filled all of those spots in December.

Cam Newton, Brandon Mosley, Roszell Gayden, Jessell Curry, and Craig Sanders all count back to last years class.

I'm pretty sure our coaching staff knows what they're doing.

But then again, the 23 year old Alabama fan may know more about the situation.

Damn Auburn Tigers! Nice recruiting class. Well done.

Looking forward to seeing the Gators play the Tigers again in 2011. You'll find a way to piss in my Cheerios though.

Hey, maybe the Gates and Tigers will matchup in the SECCG in December?**waits for Alabama fan to jump down my throat** LOL.
