Purdue just picked up 3* DT Bruce Gaston Jr. 6'2", 290 lbs, and had 12 D-1 offers. I'm excited about our DT rotation next year; Nick Mondek and Kawann Short both return after playing a lot last year and now we add this guy, who might be one of the better recruits in this class.

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
So one weekend to go before NSD. FSU supposedly has 8 spots left to fill for this class to come to a total of 29. Here is my prediction for the final 8.
4/5* WR Christian Green
5* LB Christian Jones
4* S Demar Dorsey
4* DE Corey Lemonier
4* DT Calvin Smith
3* OL Dan Foose
3* DT Bjoern Werner
3* ATH Jeremy Deering
There may also be a couple of sign and place Juco kids like Debrale Smiley and Anthony McCloud from 2008.Comment

According to his coach, coach Dixon, FSU, Miami, UF, ND, and Bama are all in the mix and in that order.Comment

Re Dorsey: Dorsey is no longer a committment. Not sure if it was a mutual parting, but they are no longer recruiting him. The staff didn't want him taking anymore visits and rumor has it pulled their offer according to some of the recruits in this class. Dorsey isn't make or break for UF's class(they have a lot of DB commits), but he should be a pretty good player if his grades hold up which was a concern for some schools. If anyone has seen his video on youtube from the UA game, he's not exactly the brightest recruit.MLB: Rays
NCAA: Michigan and Florida
NFL: 49ers

Powell is done with the process. USC hasn't given up, but he's told them he's all Gator. He made his official to Gainesville last weekend and isn't taking any more trips.

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Where's the claim of 100% accuracy that you're responding to? All I'm doing is telling you what I've personally read and giving links to other things concerning the prospect. Whether it's exaggerated or false or whatever will be seen in time I suppose. Take it how you wanna take it though.
For what it's worth, it only took a quick look on ITAT to see talks about your team's coaching staff's "preemptive" strike in the wake of CNS's visit to OB yesterday. Who knows how it will end up but he sure wasn't convinced to not visit Alabama, seeing as he's there right now.
For the record, according to the Rivals guys, the AU staff did NOT tell Shon to stay away from Tuscaloosa. He is taking all of his visits, including to Miami this weekend. That was always the plan.
He'll sign with Auburn.
The fact that some AU fans are freaking out on a message board is like telling me water is wet.
If a Bammer commit was visiting AU right now, I'm fairly certain that Bammer Online and Tide Pride would have a few "meltdown" threads themselves.
Some no name guys on a message board freaking out don't give it any validation. Just shows how intense the AU UA thing is 365/7 days a week. Even in the offseason.AUBURN TIGERS

Take it how you wanna take it AA. You got it dude.
I didn't know the plan all along was for him to take visits to Tuscaloosa. Seemed like a surprise to everyone the way I saw it but okay, it was the plan all along. They were probably just down there making sure he packed his toothbrush or something.PS: You guys are great.

Maybe because it's the week before signing day and the AU coaches are out touching base with all of their commits/recruits as much as possible before the dead period.
He's a 5 star commit (one of many 5 star commits to AU) so obviously he's gonna get a ton of attention. And obviously AU coaches want to see him before and after any visit..especially to an arch rival. That's called good recruiting (which is something this staff knows considering the class they have put together).
That doesn't equate to "Dem Awbarn coachez went down der to tell dat der croot not to come down to da Capstone. De iz skeered".
Crazy thought I know...but go with me on this one.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
In other news not concerning Shon Coleman's travel arrangements....
There is a good chance that 4 Star DT Byran Jones out of Arkansas will be announcing his decision Friday.
The finalists are Auburn and Arkansas.
I feel a heck of a lot more confident about landing 4 star DT Jeff Whitaker than Jones, but Auburn has made a big move on Jones in the last few weeks, including an official visit to AU 2 weeks ago.
I'd give the edge to Arky but I hope he commits to AU tomorrow. Defensive Tackle is a big need for AU.AUBURN TIGERS
