Re: Win/Loss prediction for your team

Florida: 10-2 to 12-0. Possible losses have already been mentioned @LSU and vs. Arkansas. Those are the two games that have me worried the most(I worry about the majority of games for UF and Michigan anyway..I'm that type of fan on gameday). They'll probably be in the SECCG and a bowl, but it's kind of pointless to predict those. Tebow is back and so is 21/22 of the defensive two deep (and really outside of the 4th and goal play Torrie Davis didn't do much at UF and UF has two 5* DT's from the last two years that should take his spot). I'm curious to see how they replace Harvin. Gators have a ton of playmakers on offense, but no one that was as much of a game breaker as Percy. Debose could be that guy in the future, but it's too much to expect right off the bat...even Harvin took until midseason as a Frosh to make a big impact. The team will be focused for every game with Spikes and Tebow leading them, I just worry about a case of the butterfingers in a game like against Ole Miss which cost them.

Michigan: 7-5 seems to be the hot pick so I'll go with that. Offensive line and QB play should be better this year. I'm not expecting Forcier to be God right off the bat, but he can't be as awful as Threet/Sheridan last year. The o-line was confused last year and I don't think that will be the case this year which will help the run game. I can't get a good read on the defense. I really think a lot of the bad play last year was due to being on the field so much and whatever was going on in the booth(see: Purdue week). I'm not sold on the safety position...and I do not like that Steve Brown supposedly has a big role in the D. Graham will be a beast, Mouton should be a playmaker, and Warren will be better without an injury. Still a ways to go to get the program back where it needs to be, but they'll be competitive. This may be too optimistic, but I wouldn't be stunned if they beat OSU this year. Not predicting they will, but I've got a funny feeling about that game. Of course they'll probably lose by 20+.
      MLB: Rays
      NCAA: Michigan and Florida
      NFL: 49ers
      NHL: Lightning and Ducks

I think turnover ratios are generally an anomaly because magazines and ESPN tend to underrate the defensive tackle who allowed 8 sacks to be created or the safety who caused 5 interceptions because he was in the right spot, despite being a 5th round-undrafted player.

However, since Florida returns their entire defense and the best quarterback of all time, I don't think their turnover ratio was too much of an anomaly. Regardless of the turnovers, of the teams on Florida's schedule, only LSU appears to be better than last year (and that includes whoever they play in the SECCG and BCSCG).

Then again, you are larry, so Southern Illinois>Florida.

In 2007, the Gators had a +5 TO margin. In 2008 that number moved to +22. Let's look at what changed:

          2007: 15 Gator TO's (9 fumbles, 6 INT), 20 OPP TO's (9 fumbles, 11 INT)
          2008: 13 Gator TO's (8 fumbles, 5 INT), 35 OPP TO's (9 fumbles, 26 INT)

Really the only thing that changed is they picked off 15 more passes. Having watched them I can tell you that's a result of a much improved secondary plus development on the DL and more pressure on the QB's. I don't think that changes this year. If there had been a jump in fumbles, I say it's a lot of luck. INT's, not so much.

Ohio State 10-2. Losses to USC and Penn State. Iowa will also most likely play us close. Illinois will also give us a game. Could be a bunch of close games.

After listening to Andre Ware, I'm certain OU will indeed go 8-4 with losses to BYU, Miami, Texas, and Oklahoma State.

Texas: 12-0, 11-1 or 10-2. Yes, I think that Texas is overlooking Colorado. Not saying they're going to lose the game, but Colorado could upset them because Texas is going to be distracted by the game against OU. Not saying it will happen, but it could.
