    Bull****.

The last 2 years, there have been 10 first All-American offensive linemen. And 3 of them came from Alabama.

But like I said, something's off about this. He claims Alabama "pressured" him to commit. Yeah. We pressured a life long Alabama fan to commit to us during his junior year. Ok kid. We'll see if you stick with your early commitment that you were afraid to do.

So he was "afraid" to commit to Alabama?

Seems kind of silly for an adult to have to invent conspiracy theories about a 16 or 17 year old kid who picks a college.

Things are at an upswing in at Auburn, he seems to have noticed that.

Don't get your panties in too much of a wad over the decision of some seventeen year old, there's definitely no need to go cursing about it.

He was afraid to commit so early in the process. Auburn's Rivals site claims a source said Alabama was pressuring Region to commit early and he wasn't down with that. So naturally he holds off on committing anywhere..

Alabama only has 10 months to a year to get him to change his mind.

LOL I'm not surprised about the Spencer Region thing at all. Ever since I first saw him he looked like an Auburn kind of guy. I don't know what that means, but I just always saw him playing at Auburn, even through all the "he's a Bama fan, Bama lean" stuff. Never had a good feeling about him committing this weekend. Good get for the "University of Auburn" though.

              Awkward presser....

I do agree with Husker that something is definitely fishy about it. Isn't that his mom in the Bama gear over there?

                War Damn Eagle Spencer Region.

                Big Time Pickup for AU.

As has been said, this AU staff is big time at recruiting. This state is faaaaaaaaar from being one sided as long as this staff is here.

I know for a fact Auburn can't come close to that.

Off the top of my head....

Willie Anderson, Kendall Simmson, Ben Grubbs, Wayne Gandy, Rob Selby, Marcus McNeill, etc.

AU has put out plenty of big time lineman in the last 20 years..more than Bammer for sure.

In fact..I think Bammer went...what?....about 10 years without a lineman being drafted in the first 3 rounds? Something like that.

Actually they don't. I read an article in the Birmingham News last Sunday I believe and it talked about how Nick Saban wishes these recruits would actually "honor" their committment and not go visit other schools, referencing what happened with Keenan Allen.

So at this point, Alabama is no longer allowed to try and recruit Region, I guess, unless Nick wants to be an obvious hypocrite and speak out of both sides of his mouth.

Really Fish? You read where CNS wished recruits would honor their commitments and translated that into him now being allowed to recruit? Could you please link that article?

In any case, I can't imagine CNS wasting his time on this kid. For whatever reason he decommitted when he was supposed to be publicly committing (and their are plenty of theories as to why it went down the way it did) and in the process said some pretty unflattering things. Unless this is some bizarre scheme on his and Region's part, I can't see CNS going after him.

I can't find the exact article from Scarbinsky, but here is another one on the subject.

Unlike Bammer..we don't have a 2 year window of having NFL quality Offensive linemen.

Between Chris Samuels and Andre Smith...there is quite the large gap of slim NFL pickings concerning Bammer O linemen.

There's also a large gap between competent coaches from 1997-2006. But recruits now don't care. The last 2 years we've had 3 first team All-American o-linemen. More than anyone else in the nation and a ring to go with it. One would think that appeals to recruits more than being "part of a family".
