Well he didn't look great defensively either, poor tackler, not a very good decision maker. On top of that he just didn't look like he had any fire, no mean streak. It was a preseason game sure, but it was an ESPN televised game, under the national spotlight and a chance to show the country what you're all about.

Now, just to put it out there, I'm not trying to predict what he'll do or be on the next level based on the one game. I'm just saying going by what I saw last night he didn't deliver on the hype. He just looks like a guy who physically is ahead of his peers right now but he didn't look all that special as a football player.

I was slightly disappointed in JWJ, but I also know Ely went out early and you know that D gave no respect to a pass game. Plus the OL couldn't block no one.

I've seen him look a lot better, but you're right he didn't look interested in the game at all. I saw some of his FB status's posted on another site and he was looking to making a showing in that game...so it's a bit surprising to see that. I'm sure he'll improve as the season goes along, but he certainly didn't look the part like other guys have this weekend. Clowney has been ridiculous in the game on ESPNU right now. Being from Tampa, I've got some bias for Wilder as far as rankings...but Clowney has definitely lived up to his hype as being the #1 player.

Blakely wants to wear Orange and Blue..that is true.

              Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread

Braxton Miller with some filthy, just filthy runs so far. Haven't seen a pass play yet but wow, he's just so smooth. Had a beautiful spin move on third down, then a few sick jukes on an under center QB sweep for 10-15 yards and then took a zone read keeper 20 yards for a score with great speed and vision.

Edit1: Wow, holy ****, some flat out speed on a 75 yard TD run by Miller... just wow.

Edit2: Some great open field running on a QB sweep from the gun for a 20-25 yard TD run. Showed good velocity on his one short throw so far. Threw an awkward looking pass off balance that 2 of his receivers ran into each other, but showed nice touch on it I guess.

Edit3: Showing great velocity on his throws, very good strength to escape pressure and putting the ball where it needs to be outside of one play where he threw it away to avoid a sack.

Edit4: Bad decision and bad pass gets picked off, first bad play of the game for him.

He has been commited for over a month. Enjoyed seeing him play. Looked much better than what was reported in the camps that he attended this year.

It looks that way but I won't be surprised either way. Hopefully he's a Dawg. I did hear that his GF getting a tennis scholarship to UCLA was just an untrue rumor. Do you know what the deal with that is?

QB is the one position that I am not really worried about. We have Locker this year and Montana/Price/recruit for next year. I'm actually really big on Nick Montana. I saw him when they played (and beat) Jake Heaps and Skyline last year. He has very good decision making ability and by all accounts, he has impressed during fall camp. I still think he'll redshirt but I've heard that he is further along than Jake was at the same point in his UW career.

The name is going to make people second guess the kid, but I think he's going to be a very, very good QB for us. His arm strength is not as weak as most people think. He can make most throws and is accurate. He'll only get better. I laugh when I hear the arm strength argument. It's the same thing they said about his dad (not comparing the two, obviously) and other QB's who have had a lot of success (Brees, Rivers, etc...). My intention is to not compare Nick Montana to those QB's, but rather to illustrate my point that arm strength pales in comparison to decision making and having the ability to execute the offense to it's maximum potential, and I really think that's what he'll do in time.

Keith Price is not a slouch, either. Mobile, decent arm strength and has a good head on his shoulders.

I'm just hoping we land Jeff Lindquist in 2012. After Montana, he could be our QB of the future.

I hope Hundley is a Dawg, but he's got to do what is best for him. I'm thrilled we got Kasen and ASJ and Sark's far from done with this current class.

                      Rivals JUCO Top 50

College coaches looking for talent on the defensive line need to look no further than the top prospects in the junior college ranks. The first Rivals.com Junior College Top 50 for 2011 features three defensive linemen in the top spots, including No. 1-ranked Jesse Williams of Arizona Western C.C.

Williams is being heavily recruited by Bama and will be in Tuscaloosa this weekend. It's his only scheduled OV so far and I hope it's enough for him to decide to roll. Bama also has a commitment from the #14 player Quinton Dial.

If there is a better High School RB in the nation than Mike Blakely I haven't seen him yet.

That dude shook off ultra hyped James Wilder like he was a 12 year old girl.

I really...really....really really really really hope he comes to Auburn. The Gator chick who covers the UF Rivals site says that AU has the lead right now. Hope that holds up.

AA, what's the deal with Roberson? Apparently his uncle is going to be moving to Lubbock to accept a GA position with TT. Rivals is trying to say the only reason AU is the leader for him is due to his uncle and that Roberson may go A&M or Tech to be near his uncle.

The guy who wrote that article, Barton Simmons, is just trying to stir the pot. I'd say next to Florence, Roberson is probably the most definite "lock" of any of our remaining targets.

He could go somewhere else, but I would be highly HIGHLY surprised if he wasn't an Auburn Tiger on Signing Day.

On a side note, that is a sick secondary class assuming we close with Rose, Launier, Roberson, and Florence.
