I don't recall many SEC fans doing this when the ACC got all that hype in basketball--especially in the 80s and 90s when the ACC had so many good bball teams.
    I don't think it's really an ACC/SEC thing.

It's really only three schools in the ACC. Two are significantly inferior programs to their SEC rival and while Clemson and USC are about equal and Clemson has owned USC, Clemson is 2-11 since 1991 against the rest of the SEC. Those three know that they should be in the SEC, but due to their own actions they are not.

I don't really see much venom from the NC schools or the northern schools.

It's the same reason that most of the SEC hate from the Big 10 is from Ohio State. Ohio State couldn't beat an SEC team if their life depended on it while the other schools have been solid to good.

This statement proves you haven't watched GT. GT was 10th in the nation in total offense, 2nd in rushing, 18th in 1st downs, 4th in 3rd down conversions, 8th in fourth down conversions, 10th in total points, and 5th in points per a game. So we don't pass, that hasn't effected our offense according to the offensive ranks. GT averaged 10.6 yards a completion which would be first in the nation if they qualified, so when they do pass it, it goes for a lot of yards. Also, GT had 37 plays of 20 or more yards.....I could go on, but that statement really pissed me off. Please don't call one of the most effective offenses painful to watch.

          What?

There is a reason they are called Mistake. They'd get pounded in a lot of conferences, including the B-12 north. In fact, they'd probably be the 3rd or 4th team in the North.

Isn't painful to watch personal preference? I didn't say they aren't effective, it's just I personally don't enjoy watching teams that run 85% of time.

He said he thought watching SEC offenses was painful...I was just point out that Georgia Tech's offense isn't the most fun to watch.

I just ran them again and they are correct.

                    I don't know why you'd doubt them.

The SEC had some pretty bad offenses from 2002-2008, but last year Auburn and Arkansas took huge strides putting up three games of at least 38 points against BCS teams where in 2008 they combined to score 27 points. Florida showed significantly less mercy on Cinci than they did on Miami and Oklahoma in 2008. Vandy and Mistake each dropped 31 on GTech compared to their 33 points in 3 games in 2008.

The SEC scored 30+ in 13 of their 23 BCS conference games. Compared to 2008 and 2007 when they accomplished that in 15 out of 42 games.

I could see them making a bowl game in another conference but the only division they'd ever have a chance in would be the mid-2000s Big XII North the year the North didn't win a game against anyone but Baylor in the South and maybe the ACC Atlantic, but those would even be long shots.

The only conference that doesn't play most of its games in home territory or close to it is the Big 10.

                              The SEC has:

BCS Championship game (neutral regardless of location given how expensive tickets are)
Sugar vs At Large (sometimes home game)
                              Cap1 vs Big 10 (home)
                              Outback vs Big 10 (Home)
                              Peach vs ACC (neutral)
                              Cotton vs Big XII (road)
Liberty vs CUSA (relatively even; most advantage is in larger fanbases)
Independence vs Big XII (slight edge)
Music City vs ACC (slight edge)

Independence and Music City depend more on who is playing who. Then again, home field doesn't seem to matter since the bowls the SEC has fared the worst in are vs the Big 10.

For the most part, any advantage in location is more than given up in the huge seeding differences.

Nah...I actually enjoy watching GT highlights and seeing them bust a big play. It's just that if I have a choice to watch them or a more conventional offense I'll flip to the folks passing the ball around.
