Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
Yes, but Nebraska much preferred the game to be held at Arrowhead or in St. Louis. I don't think it's the distance that bothered Nebraska, it's that Texas moved the game to their backyard where it would be a virtual home game for the Longhorns. The league headquarters were moved South. Texas joined the conference and slowly took it over behind the scenes, and that never sat well with Nebraska. They moved to a conference that isn't dominated by one team, and that share a similar set of values and opinions as Nebraska. Also, the Big Ten could guarantee Nebraska $20 mil, and Texas (I mean, the Big XII) couldn't. Nebraska was getting around $10 mil, maybe less, in the Big XII. Nebraska's traditional rival being in the South and only playing twice every four years didn't help, and the rest of the North being so overshadowed by the Texas schools, that Nebraska was never really able to develop a real rivalry with any of them.
Kinda sounds like what Texas A&M is looking at.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
This right here is the biggest reason why the Big XII never melded together well. It was the Big Eight merging with the top Texan SWC teams, and both Nebraska and Texas were the big dogs in their respective conferences. When Texas started getting its way with the Championship being moved from Missouri to Texas and the headquarters moving to Irving, it took the Huskers down a peg, and they didn't care for it. It was never about records in football, it was how they were treated by the newcomer to their conference. It was about pride, and now Nebraska has a more prestigous, better ran, and equal sharing conference.
Kinda sounds like what Texas A&M is looking at.
Getting back on topic, A&M's offense is looking wicked this year. Returning QB, good receivers and HB's - kinda like my Hogs. I'm hoping we can get past them. I think under Sherman they are heading the right direction. I don't think their defense is near Arkansas's but their O definitely is.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
Bama's D will be sick this year. Come the BCS CG Bama's O will be fully on track. If you wanna beat Bama, get them early in the year. I would say after the Florida game, barring injury, Bama will be beating everyone handily - sans LSU.
It's not me being arrogant. I am an Arkansas fan living in SEC HQ (B'Ham) who doesn't have a lot of love for Bama. I respect Nick Saban quite a bit, but not a Bama fan. Oklahoma lost it's two best linebackers, unfortunately. I think the proper statement the gentleman should have made was I hope we get past FSU.
At the moment I am hoping Arkansas can get to Bama before their new QB's get it on track. That's the only thing holding Bama back in my opinion, that and possibly their pass rush.
Bama and Wisky in the title game? Wisky perennially drops at least one match-up they shouldn't. I don't buy into the "so-and-so does this every year, so they should do it this year" argument, but with Wisconsin I think it's a consequence of their style of play. Some games their offense just shuts itself down and other lesser teams jump on them.Last edited by lonewolf371; 08-25-2011, 10:16 AM.NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)

I was just pointing out that if Alabama and OU do meet in the CG it looks pretty even right now. After we see both teams play in 2011, it will be more clear obvisouly, but on paper it's hard to say who is better.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

The dreaded "we should see other people" talk. Now A&M just has to find a time to pick up its **** from the Big XII's apartment.Comment

In the wake of the Ags move, SMU has thrown it's hat into the ring of Big (almost) XII hopefuls.
