Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
In today's pregame show for ISU our AD was asked about ISU and conference realignment. He said that "he knows the answer" to what will happen for us but he "can't say right now".
This is really leading me to believe that KU, KSU, ISU, and Baylor have been in talks with the Big East and are ready to land (relatively) comfortably when the **** hits the fan.Comment

I'm not sold Texas is going to the Pac. I think Oklahoma is. But Oklahoma, while okay with Texas coming along, doesn't want Tech. They want to bring Missouri. Oklahoma realizes they hold a lot of the cards here. So they're trying to dictate which three teams come with them, and Texas Tech isn't on that list. Will Texas get their way and bring Texas Tech? Will Missouri go instead? Or will Texas decide to take it's chances on their own future. They could keep the Big 12 intact, and bring in some teams from the Mountain West. At that point it hurts Texas's stature, but a strong OOC schedule still puts them in contention for BCS titles, and they run the conference their way. They could also opt for Big Ten football. I don't know. While I think Oklahoma going to the Pac 12 makes a lot of sense, I'm not sold Texas isn't stubborn enough to stay put.Comment

Cyclone fan hasn't been right about a single thing in this entire saga, so I don't know why anyone is listening to him now.
You can plug your ears and believe as much as you want, but ISU to the Big East makes less than no sense. I'm not even sure it'd be a good move for the university.Comment

Iowa State in the past 10 years of Big 12 football: above .500 4 times. Missouri? Try 7. Basketball shall we? Iowa State has 2 tourney appearances in the past 10 years compared to Missouri's 6. You can go on about your living graduates and 14,000 seat arena and AAU membership (try a Big Ten application), but these expansions are about increasing TV markets, and St. Louis >>> Des Moines-Ames. A below average team in a smaller TV market does nothing.Comment

But the reason those team dominate their markets is they're quality teams. UTSA does not dominate the San Antonio market in the slightest.Football: Denver Broncos
Baseball: Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
Hockey: Allentown Phantoms
NCAA: The College of William and Mary Tribe

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
And in a new conference, they can shine on their own stage. A lot of these schools have enrollments that are medium to large, and if the BCS is in play, a lot more people will pay attention to them.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
Texas Goes Independent, Oklahoma, OK st, and Tech go to Pac12.
Kansas, K-state, and Mizzou Go to Big East.
This is how the Big East will probably look
Classic Coke:
SU
RU
UCONN
WVU
Pitt
USF
New Coke:
Kansas
K-state
Mizzou
Cincy
Louisville
TCU
BE Championship game in NYC
That doesnt look too bad for a conference that should have been killed off, twice. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
News flash buddy... conferences are moving to more than 12 teams now.
How difficult is that to understand. Too many completely uninformed wild-*** guesses about ISU to C-USA that are worth less than the time it takes to read them on this website. Everything thinks whatever they pull out of their *** is worth posting. They are ignoring the F-A-C-T that the Big East had invited four of the "leftover" Big 12 schools last summer and ISU was included (others being KU/KSU/Mizzou).Last edited by TheGamingChef; 09-04-2011, 10:54 AM.Comment
