5 years from now we will talk about this like the SMU Death Penalty, or the fingerpoke of doom in WCW. It was truly an arrogant move when it was announced and I just don't see how it will work in the current structure of the conference.. Sure a school like Baylor is going to need the Big XII to survive because they have no option, but everyone else has to be thinking of their Plan B. since UT put their Plan A. out there to basically say we're bigger than the conference. If UT leaves it's ovah... but now it could be over before they even get a chance to leave.

The LHN has put a divide in the Big XII and well like they always say, a house divided can not stand... It wouldn't surprise me to see OU launch their own network futher chipping away at what was an elite conference.
Let's be honest hear. Texas A&M might have left becasue of the LHN. But Nebraska most certainly did not.

They left for the bigger pay day at the big 10 and because the big 12 voted down their partial qualifiers. There was a perceived domination of Texas in the conference however, the unequal revenue sharing was AGREED upon by Nebraska.

KSU, Missouri, and OU are all working on media distribution. Now it is not the size and the scope of UT's LHN. Quite frankly, schools got freaked out as did UT by how large the money offer from ESPN was.

Florida sold it's tier 3 rights for $100M to the Sunshine Network. Again not the same as UT, but it certainly seems like schools are looking to expand their "brand" and get the most money as possible.

more small time conference jealousy? of course you want to stay in a BCS AQ conference that hasnt had a top 10 team since 2007.

Same here. College football is by no means perfect, but I don't want to think of what it will look like with these superconferences.

Unfortunately, it's inevitable. So if it doesn't happen now, it will in the next 3 years most likely.

I hate the idea of these super conferences. I know that I just need to deal with it because it is going to happen. It`s going to end up hurting college football in the end.

the super conferences are the 1st step to a playoff we have 66 BCS teams now and 4 16 team conferences would make 64. Trim a bit of fat and you could take the top 2 teams from each conference and have a legit 8 team playoff

i dont think its desperation. just an eff-you type move. A&M is leaving the B12, thats going to happen. Baylor is just mad they arent looped in with the teams either breaking for the pac-12 or big east and might have a tough time landing in a BCS conference

Yep, I have seen the same thing. The Big XII presidents had an 80 minute conference call. Going into it I had seen that Baylor wanted to get more schools on board with not waiving litigation rights. It looks like they have succeeded.

                          This just in:

Iowa State says it has not waived its rights to sue either SEC or Texas A&M according to Des Moines Register
Kansas State announcing the same may not be far behind.

I don't understand why any school would waive their rights in this case. What is the benefit of giving up whatever small amount of power and leverage you have in this situation?

Really does look like Baylor pulled off a Hail Mary in today's conference call.

BREAKING NEWS: @richiewhitt reporting that #Kansas and KSU are joining #Baylor in legal actions against A&M going to #SEC.
Now reports that Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State are pursuing legal action against the SEC.
