There are a tremendous number of LSU fans in Texas, mainly because so many Louisianians never went home after Katrina. The other SEC schools have their share of alums in DFW/Houston, but the idea that they exist in huge numbers is pure fantasy.



With all due respect, you simply don't understand the culture and tradition of these two schools, nor do you seem to have much grasp of the nature of Texas politics. The idea that the Texas Legislature would allow TAMU to go anywhere without the Horns (or vice versa) is preposterous.



The only way the Ags wind up in the SEC is in tandem w/UT--and that will never happen because the Horns look down their noses at the SEC's weak academic standards.

If the Ags leave I will be down at the dock wishing them a fond farewell as their Titanic departs.

Lotta blog noise today about the Aggies heading to the SEC. Having a hard time really believing it. Texas politics may end up getting in the way of this one.

Regardless, it will not be the death knell for the Big XII.

Adding a school just because they have a good baseball program makes zero sense.

I'm sure there are other reasons he said that, such as re-igniting the LSU/Tulane rivalry or their academics

Those are all secondary considerations. Financial motivations trump all that, and I don't think the other SEC schools would be cool with Tulane getting their equal portion of the revenue sharing when they hardly contribute anything financially.

Tulane was in the SEC a long time ago.. maybe that's why? I agree though, adding a good, but not great, baseball program that won't add TV interest or really any monetary value doesn't make a lot of sense to me

I don't get why the SEC would be interested in Tulane.

Tulane has more SEC titles than Miss State and Vandy combined.


Academics, tradition, baseball, football, etc.

Regardless, it will not be the death knell for the Big XII.

If it were only A&M, there is a chance it wouldn't be the Big XII death knell.

But it won't be only A&M. OU, OSU, Tech, bye bye.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tech go first. And no, I'm not just saying that "willy nilly". I don't think they are fans of tEaSiPN and their little "agree to our demands or else", one little bit.
