Da'Shawn Hand and OG Khaliel Rodgers at the Rivals camp.
Always encouraging to see a prospect throwing up the "AU" in a photo op.
It's pretty much a USC vs AU decision for Rodgers (assuming Rodgers gets his USC offer this week when he goes to LA).AUBURN TIGERS

AU commits showed out at the Rivals combine this weekend. While Lawson was the talk of everyone, WR Earnest Robinson balled his azz off too. Looked great in the 7 on 7 tourney.
Take a look at this catch he made.

Texas 5 Star QB Tyrone Swoopes trying his best to bring WR Ricky Seals-Jones back to Texas. They hooked up on three 45yd TD passes at one point during the Rivals Challenge. Also, Swoopes reportedly was the most consistent passer throughout the day.Texas. Football. All. Day.Comment

Not trying to be an a$$hole so don't take it the wrong way, but from everything I've heard Rogers is a lock to USC if he gets the offer. Either way, whoever gets him will be getting a HELL of a player...Comment

Hand seems to really like Alabama, so my guess is he's SEC bound and won't stay in-state. Recently, Alabama's made some in-roads up there so hopefully we can land him.Twitter

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
The Auburn boys did some recruiting of their own at the Rivals Camp this past weekend. Now UF DT Commit Caleb Brantley and Top 100 DB Jalen Ramsey are both wanting to visit Auburn. They've already been hard on Reuben Foster and Tray Matthews.
Originally posted by Jalen Ramsey"They are beasts to be honest, there's no other words to describe it," Ramsey said. "Especially Carl, no offensive lineman could keep up with him. Then Dee, words can't describe how good they are. They recruited me. They kept yelling 'War Eagle' and all that stuff. If I think about it, playing with them could be a benefit."Originally posted by Caleb Brantley"Dee Liner, Carl Lawson, they are trying to get me on that Auburn boat, man," Brantley said. "They are telling me to come play with some great players. They want me to play with them, they say Auburn is a great place and everything. They were telling me what their goals are, saying I'm the kind of defensive lineman they need. They said come be a part of the 'War Eagle' family.
"Actually, I like Auburn, I want to go check it out. I think Auburn is a great program," Brantley said. "I like their defense, I don't know too much about them, but I want to go check it out."
Go get'em guys!AUBURN TIGERS

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
There seems to be a lot more 'package deals' this year than I can remember recently.. Matthews, Foster, and Alvin Kamara have all said they want to play together.. Liner and Lawson.. DB Brendan Langley has pretty much told coaches if they don't offer his safety teammate he's not interested.. Mackensie and MacKenro Alexander.. Clemson getting Nkemdiche plus 2 of his teammates
kinda scary that recruiting is moving in this direction but really exciting at the same timeComment

Buckeyes get commit #13 for 2013.
Darron Lee 6-3, 205 pounds, 3 * ATH out of New Albany. He will most likely play safety or linebacker.

Facebook, twitter...everything is becoming much more connected.
Add to that in regards to football...year round camps, etc. These recruits are starting to become friends with one another and build relationships.
That's HUGE. Coaches recognize that. GREAT recruiting staffs recognize that.
Auburn has one of the best recruiting staffs in CFB (landing top 10 classes year after year, plus a MNC, even with our arch rival at the "top of their game"). Part of their recruiting prowess comes DIRECTLY from building these bonds with their commits through recruiting events at Auburn like Big Cat Weekend, etc.
Previous top AU classes like the 2010 class did the same thing. Eric Mack decommitted from South Carolina and switched to Auburn because of his relationships built through the Under Armour All Star game with Jake Holland, Ladarious Owens, and Michael Dyer, etc. That's just one example.
Look at the results. Lawson and Liner...and Trey Johnson and Earnest Robinson....were recruiting hard for Auburn at the Rivals camp. Tray Matthews, a UGA commit, has openly admitted that he's now thinking hard on Auburn. Reuben Foster is real close to Dee Liner and Liner has been hard on him to switch. Caleb Brantley and Jalen Ramsey are both putting AU back in the mix specifically because of how much they like the AU commits.
Carl Lawson is real tight with 5 star DT Montravious Adams. Adams top 2 right now are Auburn and Clemson. On top of that, great players want to play with other great players. If you are a DT prospect, why WOULDN'T you want another 5 star DE like Lawson lining up next to you? If you were a top DB or LB, of course you want stud defensive linemen rushing the passer to make your job easier.
When a top QB prospect commits to a school..generally WRs and RBs follow. Just another example.
Auburn isn't the only school to utilize this strategy, but they are definitely maximizing it.Last edited by AuburnAlumni; 06-26-2012, 03:23 PM.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
If Corey Lemonier stays for his senior year.....which he will probably bolt this year since he'll be a 1st round pick most likely...you're talking about EVERY single defensive linemen (except little used backup Jamar Travis) coming back PLUS Carl Lawson, Dee Liner, Tashaun Bower, and possibly any combo of Montravious Adams, Caleb Brantley, etc.
That's some sick depth.AUBURN TIGERS
