My question is when UCF travels to play Hawaii are they going to take the Panama Canal?
Seriously could 2 schools be farther apart?

UCF is in the Big East. Also, Maine University to Hawaii, or USF to Alaska at Anchorage.

I don't think the MWC teams would want the CUSA name, as others said.

I forgot UCF was joining the big East in 2013. I was going for schools in the same conference that actually play each other. Maine doesnt play Hawaii and USF doesnt play A @ A.

Oh my god...this super conference is gonna have a *pauses for suspense* PLAYOFF. (Lol jk, this doesn't make logical sense for a conference, unless of course they shortened their conference schedule by 1 or 2 games to set up time for this)

But just for fun's sake, let's think about it:
You set it up so these 4 "divisions" each send a champion to play in a playoff system. You seed the teams 1-4 with 4@1 and 3@2 as the first round games.

Then during CC week you have the winner of both games play at a neutral site for the title.

It would be kinda cool wouldn't it?

Seeing as some high school teams play 15 or so games in a season, I think College kids can handle one extra game for a playoff.

My point was more to it interfering with the CC week that ESPN runs lol...greedy people always prevail (see: entire BCS system)

Looking back on it now, some hours after my original statement...I'll back off saying it isn't reasonable I'd love to see this and it is honestly pretty reasonable...question is: would the BCS allow a playoff to occur? If this playoff really does happen, it will further along the debate and interest in a playoff, which I'm guessing (with no statistical backing and purely off what I've heard from people around the sport of college football) more people support a playoff than don't

Very likely that the NCAA would grant this Alliance a waiver for it to have another week on it's schedule so that it can have that conference playoff. Why would they do that? Because the major conferences will immediately benefit by being able to easily push that waiver to become Rule and thus we have an extra week added for conferences to have a playoff should they grow large enough to handle such.

Thought realignment was messy so far? Havn't seen anything yet compared to when/if this waiver comes down.

Hawaii hosted Maine in 1990. Just a fun fact. Hawaii's all-time record in road games east of the Mississippi River is 1-8. Their lone win was at Army in 2010.

Everything I have heard and read suggests the Big East mess will be sorted out after next season. Everything suggests they want to have the outgoings gone by the time the incomings get there.
