Kind of curious what the quality that Aztecs team was aside from Faulk in his senior year. They played some pretty tough opponents and Faulk still ended up with crazy numbers both rushing and receiving.

Tim Tebow: Most rushing touchdowns in SEC history and hes a QUATERBACK(yes even more than walker)
Only QB to throw 20 touchdowns and rush for 20.
      2x National championships
      2x SEC championships
      3x SEC east Championships
      Hiesman winner
Yet he gets no love? You guys are naming players who never won a National Championship or heisman..come on.
And to the guy who said he not even a top 20 player? That's rediculous

Are you talking best college football player or best college fantasy football player. And two national titles? He was a spot player at best for the first.

Seriously, football was played before the year 2006.

Well in his defense,we wouldn't have even been in the first title game against osu, if it werent for his 4th down&1 conversion against Tennessee in Knoxville to keep the drive alive that led to the game winning touchdown to win 21-20. Spot player...yes. but he did come up with some HUGE "3rd&short" type plays that season. I honestly don't think we win that title without him. So add "clutch player" to that list. As well as some sensational trademark 'jump passes' helped us win that championship too.

And on the other side Florida didn't win any titles without Percy Harvin being a key player.

Football is played outside of the SEC.

You mean Tebow won the SEC East 3 times?!

While I won't say Tebow is the "greatest" ever, it's not like anyone would be crazy to say he should be in the discussion. Just because we've had Tebow overload the last 5 years doesn't mean he wasn't a beast in college.

Personally, Major Harris and Barry Sanders are way up there imo...

Fair enough, Fair enough. But imo, the thing about tebow, is that on 3rd or 4th & short, everyone watching knew exactly what was coming and how it was coming...but he was unstoppable almost 100% of the time. But we have a great team around him, and as you said, losing 'no mercy' Percy was a huge loss. .

True, but the last six title winners have been from the SEC, so I think its fair to say its big to be in 3 if those title games, because they turned out to be the national championship for all intensive purposes, Noone would've beaten LSU or BAMA last year, no one imo would've beaten us in '09 other than bama and honestly in '08 bama could've beaten oklahoma as well. The SEC is the dominant conference, no denying that, as much as OSU fans hate it.

Btw I hate to say it, but Urban is going to bring the buckeyes back to dominance.

Tebow had Percy Harvin, Hernandez, great o-line, great defense, ect. The guy was surrounded by a ton of talent. Good player yes. Best of all-time no.
Yes indeed. I would'nt hold his supporting cast against him, but he was certainly surrounded by explosive play makers. There are many dual threat QBs who were the most explosive players on their team (for example: Charlie Ward, Tommy Frazier, VY, Vick). I don't know if that is true wit Tebow. That doesnt mean that Tebow wasn't great, but it doesn't mean that he was the most dominant either.

Tebow was a great player, one of the best ever, but I dont understand how someone can say he's the greatest ever. He might be the most HYPED ever lol, but not the best imo. There are too many great players in history. Even as far as dual threat QBs, there are a few that would be ahead of him imho. Charlie Ward was a good call by BK. He should definitely be in a conversation of best dual threat players.

As far as stats, they definitely matter and can tell you a lot, but in CONTEXT. People cant rank players solely on comparing their stats, especially across eras. If folks want to go by stats in a vacuum, then I guess Cliff Kingsbury is the greatest lol

Tebow is a great player with great stats. He is one of the best ever.

However, having more one yard rushing touchdowns doesnt make him a better runner or player than Herschel Walker. Yes it would be easy to name 20 or 30 players who were better than Tebow. I could name many more players than that who would have converted the first down at home against Ole Miss...

I'm aware of all the SEC accomplishments over the last 6 years. I don't know what OSU has to do with anything here, I don't hate that the SEC has been the best conference.

Bottom line, the 2008 Florida Gators are not the greatest team of all time and should not be in the same conversation as 2001 Miami and 1995 Nebraska. Having the so-called best player in college football history does not change the fact they lost to Ole Miss.

Well maybe the fact that osu got drummed in two of the six games. And tim deserves to be IN THE CONVERSATION for the best player... not saying he 100% is, but he deserves respect for his accomplishments. And the juniors on that 08 gator team are widley considered the best class ever, espn has them ranked #1 in there poll that was made last year I believe, so they should at least get 'honorable mention' in that category. And I definitely don't think they would've beaten the canes or huskers, BUT I do believe were the best team to not run the table. A one point upset isn't the end of the world, especially since we play in the SEC and that year we played both a good Miami team and a decent fsu team...if any team deserves the benefits of the doubt for a loss, its the 08 gators.
