Re: Who do you think is the greatest team of all time?
Agreed. That was a fun team to watch play defense. In the great players of our generation discussion Charles Woodson doesn't get enough mention imo.
Their offensive line was ridiculous as was there LB corps. I read that 31 players from that team played in the NFL.
Underrated group imo.Comment

Re: Who do you think is the greatest team of all time?
I'd like to see 1997 Michigan go up against some of these teams. Mostly because I'm curious as to how that defense would stack up against them. They allowed under 10 points a game that year and their schedule was pretty damn tough. It's just a shame we never got to see them play Nebraska that year. That would have been a great matchup.
Another fun-fact is that 24 points was the most they allowed that year, and 21 of those 24 were scored in the first half (#15 Iowa); i.e., Iowa mustered only 3 points on that D when it mattered.Last edited by NEOPARADIGM; 07-04-2012, 05:22 AM.Comment

I think the 1998 team would've had an argument as the best of them all had they not blown it against Michigan State. The only game they didn't win by double digits was that loss.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Best defense I've ever seen, and it's a damn shame they got snubbed into a split-MNC because they didn't beat WSU badly enough. WSU was all about offense; UM holds them to 16 (their lowest output of the season, no coincidence), but because the final was 21-16, it was "Wow, close game, UM must not be that good." I still hold that grudge, Nebraska fan.

I'm going with '95 Nebraska, but it's close.
For my money, the greatest player I ever saw in person was Ricky Williams. He ran all over my Bruins, but lost to a great offense. Dude was a beast, and one of my favorite non-UCLA players. Tebow probably doesn't make my top 25, and that's if I stick to players I've seen. If we go all time, it gets worse. Probably not even a top 25 QB all time.Comment

'95 Nebraska and '01 Miami.
'97 Michigan was really good as well, wanted to see them play '97 Nebraska.

Re: Who do you think is the greatest team of all time?
The title is who is the better team. 95 nebraska as a team dominated every single team on their schedule.
I love 01 Miami because of how many first rounders they had but come on. They only beat a weak NU by 23 points. The game before that, Colorado beat NU by 26 points.......
In Miami's last regular season game (previous to the '01 championship game), they only beat Tech by 2 points. To answer OP's question, 95 Nebraska is the greatest team of all time hands down. But if you were to ask me "which team do you think was the greatest in producing nfl talent in a single season" then I would pick 01 Miami.Comment
