There's a lot of interesting tid bits from that game.

    -> Matt Flynn
-> Last decent Auburn defense.. no coincidence Muschamp was involved.
-> Craziest Auburn INT I've seen.. and there's been some good ones. Brandon LaFell basically flipped it over his head for Pat Lee.
--> LSU actually had a formidable and somewhat creative offense back then.

edit: I'll actually dig up some highlights for anyone who may be interested, but doesn't remember it like we do. FWIW, these highlights probably came from an LSU fan. They cut a few significant AU plays.

It shouldn't have come to that.

WHY THE HECK DID WE SQUIB KICK THE FRIGGIN' BALL TO GIVE LSU HALF THE FRIGGIN' FOOTBALL FIELD WITH LESS THAN 5 MINUTES LEFT IN THE FRIGGIN' BALL GAME???!!! WHY TOMMY???!!! WHY?????!!!!!!

    ....Okay, I'm better now.

I sat in the Big House and watched Michigan lose to Appalachin State. I thought that Michigan team would be able to out score everyone that year. I just kept waiting for Michigan to pull ahead and take control of the game but it never happened. When Michigan lined up for a field goal on the final play, I had a feeling it was going to get blocked.

          1998 vs. Miami.

Not that the Bruins would have won the NC, because the defense was pretty mediocre, but I will, to this day, stand by the statement that UCLA would have won that game if it had been played early in the year when I was scheduled, rather than at the end due to the hurricane.

Edgerrin James went beast mode that game. He ran for 299 yrds. The week before we lost to Syracuse 66-13 in what is known as route 66. Ucla just happened to catch us at the wrong time. Me and alot of other um fans agree with you. If that game would have been played as scheduled, we probably lose.

This game right here. Within 2 minutes i was getting calls from FSU fans and my uncle telling me how much florida sucked. Muschamp should have been fired right then and there

Ugh. Probably the worst lost in NCAA history given the circumstances.

BSU @ NEV overtime loss kept them from playing in the NC.

I don't understand at the time NEV didn't have the field goal post in regulation to NCAA standards. Even now watching the replay I swear it was good? A high kick above the shortened post.

Oh well we'll get in soon and shock the world and defeat another power team.

So, I'm going to say 2013 to Washington. It wasn't a gutwrenching close game like most people in this thread will have. It was 48-0 after 3 quarters on senior night. It was an utter embarrassment and it was the first times in almost 15 years I actually shut an Oregon State game off before it was over. It was a pathetic display of apathy. I grew up watching a lot of 2-9 teams who were lucky if they could eek out a win over a 1-AA school, but I was never ashamed to be an Oregon State fan like I was that night when they plain quit.
I totally agree with you on both of those. I was so crushed by that LSU game in 2004 in fashion it happened it is still to this day is the last game I cried over. I was 11 but I understood too well how good they were coming off a National Championship season and how we really should have won it and we physically and mentally ran out of gas. I remember Serna throwing his helmet and crumbling to the field and I went straight to my room and bawled lol.

2013 Washington was a new low indeed. And 2013 Eastern Washington and Vernon Adams felt just as crushing if not more because of the expectations and being #25 preseason. 2014 USC was beyond embarrassing as well. There was what maybe 5 first downs and it looked like we had a high school team and honestly we don't deserve national attention until we can prove we can hang with and beat those really good teams on ABC primetime. Also 2012 Washington because of the #7 ranking and we really should have won it. I never felt like we recovered as a program over that loss under Riley.

BUT I would say personally 2008 Oregon was THE MOST devastating loss. I understood our bone-dry history of Rose Bowls and it was our year and our time and everything was magical in the stadium leading up to kickoff and we were 1 win away from going to Pasadena and the Ducks were struggling and had no business messing things up but they punched us in the mouth, kicked us in the gut, and twisted our nuts all at the same time to the drubbing of 700 yards of offense and a blowout win. I grew up not liking the Ducks but that sent it to a new level of hatred. And unfortunately the Oregon program took off after that under Chip and now 7 years later we still haven't beaten them since and they have Uncle Phil with unlimited money and are the poster child for Nike. When we beat the Ducks again it may just be one of my favorite days of all-time.
