    Re: Week 2 Discussion

Kirby Smart has got to be the most infuriating good coach that I've ever had the displeasure of cheering for.

Starting QB JT Daniels is resting today with an oblique injury.

The #2 QB on the depth chart is Carson Beck
A redshirt freshman who was a 4* recruit a few years ago.

So, who starts the game today against UAB? Stetson Bennett who started most of last year. A kid who is very limited talent wise but he's an upperclassman who knows the offense. He is also incapable of defeating good teams. Beck was allowed to come in 1 series with the game 14-0, and they call 3 straight run plays. The next series, Bennett is right back out there.

It never mattered who the QB was in this game, but starting bennet prevents you from getting experience for guys who might actually be able to help you out down the road.

It's a rich man's complaint, but Kirby's handling of the QB situation just has been so baffling during his tenure.

Pickett looked a lot better than Sam Howell did last week, for sure.

I didn't like the failed fourth-down call. I also thought Hooker pretty easily picked up the first down the play before. I'd have challenged the spot.

I hope Milton is done as the starting QB. I'm already tired of watching him airmail every deep throw. Hooker looked better. I hope Bailey gets a chance at some point.

At least we're more fun to watch.

UT/Pitt was entertaining and I do agree that the Vols were more fun to watch; the thing that hits me every time I watch Tennessee though is they are NOT getting the type of athletes they used to get and I don't know how they change that. Growing up, UT athletes were on par with almost anyone...they seem like a bunch of 3 star athletes in terms of size/speed now.

Richt and now Kirby have done a much better job locking down the state of Georgia in recruiting, which is a vital pipeline for Tennessee, than the Georgia coaches in the 90s. I'm not sure how they go about fixing that at this point.

Yup. Fulmer used to have a lot of success in the Carolinas as well; Clemson has taken that away. We used to have a fair amount of success in Alabama too, but obviously that's changed.

I think Heupel is a pretty solid Xs and Os coach, but there's nothing in his history to suggest he can recruit at the level necessary to get us competitive with the upper half of the SEC. I hope I'm wrong.

Speaking of programs that have fallen, I'd love to see Colorado hang on to upset A&M. I've always had a soft spot for the Buffs.

Aggy's backup QB runs it in, only to fumble the ball nanoseconds before crossing the goal line.

              Buffs might pull this off.

I can find better coaching at the local YMCA.

tbh I thought your RB was in on the possible tying touchdown late in the 4th and was already preparing my "well, Pitt did it again" post

I have no idea what FSU was trying to do on defense on that last play.

Daring Jacksonville State to throw it towards the end zone. Surprisingly, JVille State was up to the task.

So I thought that it was a jump ball in the end zone type of deal, which can be flukey. Dude caught it, evaded two guys then got in, ouch.

Miami almost went down to App St, FSU loses to Jacksonville State, USF is a dumpster fire, and Florida/UCF are meh teams. Has the state of Florida been this bad at football in a LONG time? Crazy...
