Re: Week One Discussion
FSU looked well prepared for a change. Coaching needs to be fixed in game though because of all the stupid decisions to not just kick a FG or toss the ball almost cost FSU the win. FSU really should have blown them out.
Great to see the FSU OL hold up well against a top DL, although the LBs, DBs aren't as good. If FSU can stay healthy, they may finally turn the corner.

Re: Week One Discussion
I wanted somebody to ask the FSU coach what the hell was he thinking with the pitch play they fumbled. Strangest decision you could ever make on the goal line when all it took was a run up the middle or just ice it with a chip shot fg.
Who calls that play lol?

Re: Week One Discussion
Targeting really does need to be changed.
This GT-Clemson game. I get it, helmet to helmet and the defender is gone, but the defender put his helmet down first and then the Clemson receiver ducked his head into it (and he didn't have to). That is the only reason that contact was helmet to helmet.
The Targeting rule has largely changed player behavior on defense. We need offensive targeting to change player behavior on the offensive side so that these players stop lowering their head to either draw those targeting penalties or some kind of protective measure.Last edited by KSUowls; 09-05-2022, 09:32 PM.Comment

Re: Week One Discussion
A targeting play that I'll never forget is one with Miami @ UVA however many years back where the Miami defender going for the tackle was so low that his head was basically knee height and his body was in a near prone position and he still got ejected because the offensive player went low and put his head down resulting in head to head contact.
At that point, where is the defender supposed to aim for a hit? The penalty was nice in theory but needs to go or be completely revamped.

Re: Week One Discussion
Didn’t get through one game before Satterfield and staff **** the bed causing the fan base to call for him to be fired and essentially check out on the season.
All the mojo built this summer in recruiting has been dashed and the fans have zero confidence that this staff could succeed with the incoming class, if the class even shows up and is as “good as advertised “

Re: Week One Discussion
Losing is acceptable so long as the players come to practice the next day and promise to try harder.
And the fact that he refused to fire Brown (Defensive Coordinator) after last season is just mind boggling.
This team may struggle to get 3 wins this season.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

The rule needs to be overhauled. Everything about it is wrong. But, so is the roughing the passer penalty.
