Hotseat for giving up points to the number two team in the country in his first year as a head coach? Please. He isn’t Saban —he has made that abundantly clear. This style of thinking is what cost Bama so many years of needless coaching turnovers after Paul Bryant retired.

That kind of toxicity is what we need to get out of our heads across the board so that we can all truly enjoy the game rather than constantly judge people on an unfair basis that we couldn’t ever compare to.

        Lol, seriously.

Fans are so spoiled. I’ll leave it at that.

Ryan Williams and Jeremiah Smith - the way some of these true freshman receivers can come into elite, blue chip programs and be the best playmaker on the field is incredible.
        Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSG

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Truth. I was a cop for Saraland PD when Ryan Williams was in school and saw him playing at Skidmore Park when he was younger. We worked security and parking details there off-duty because people didn’t know how to act sometimes [and because no cop can ever resist the taste and smell of overtime pay]. Those were easier times in my life, looking back, ha.

It is so special to see genuinely good kids turn into the athletic talents they dream and deserve to be, and to just know you were a spectator along the way. It is humbling and rewarding all at the same time. Ryan was always respectful and well-mannered. I hope he does well, stays healthy and humble and makes enough money to retire happy someday.

Saban allowed a 24 point comeback against Auburn. That seems close enough. And Alabama actually lost that one, unlike last night.

He will at some point be on the hot seat when he stops winning. Bama fans are just rabid like that. Heck, they even wanted to run Bear off in the early 70's.
Deboer's demeanor and personality fits into Tuscaloosa like Mike Price or Dennis Francione. But the Cam-Back in 2010 , in Tuscaloosa, Bama up 24 -0 and lost. I think 2010 was Saban's worst coaching job in his seventeen years there, and last year was his best coaching, even tho they fell just short on the wrong side of OT to the eventual champion. Some would even say the Michigan Bama game was the real championship game.

                  Re: Week 5 Discussion

I'm late, but I've been out of power the last 50 hours. I was able to watch the Miami-VT game Friday night and I just have to return to these boards to say that college football officiating remains a joke. One of the worst officiated games I've seen in a minute and it's an absolute miracle they actually ended up making the correct call to end the game. The fact that they called it a TD originally is an absolute joke when they spent 5 years discussing what happened, clearly neither ref had a good view or idea of what happened, and then called it a TD anyways.

Not surprised one bit it was the same crew from the Miami-Duke game from 2016 with that lateral finish as that was the worst officiated game I've literally ever seen in my entire life. ACC refs, and refs in general at this level, remain an absolute joke and I wish I was held to the same standard at my job that they are at theirs.
