Re: Week 14 Discussion
even down 2 TDs in the 4th, everyone probly had the same thought as me "somehow Georgia gonna win"
once the OTs started escalating, I either wanted GT to win or have 10+ OTs to break the recordWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Week 14 Discussion
That final drive to tie it up + half the plays they ran in OT made it clear they'd go pretty far.
Missing one or two holds here and there is one thing. Missing that blatant of holding calls consistently in those situations is beyond questionable.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Week 14 Discussion
I will say the 12 team playoffs makes this final week more interesting. Clemson needs Miami to lose, for them to get a spot in the ACC game. Winner of Texas-A&M game, faces Georgia, OSU needs to beat Michigan. Big 12 still have a lot of teams still in it. You have a game in TTU-WVU, where whoever wins can decide some tie breakers for the teams still in the race. I think it can be as simple as BYU and ASU win they are in, who are playing teams with nothing to play for. Iowa State is playing a tough Kansas State team, but top WR already let it be known that's he's going to transfer. Most of these teams are hoping BYU loses to Houston. Colorado is in it but needs help from multiple teams. They almost need BYU to lose and WVU to lose to have a shot or hope ISU and ASU loses.
It's going to be a fun dayComment

Re: Week 14 Discussion
It's hard not to notice how easy it can be to draw a favorable schedule in these massive monstrosities we now call conferences.
There are 8 SEC teams in the top 25 and Texas has yet to beat any of the other 7, only even played one and lost by double digits at home, but they're ranked #3 anyway. They can lose tonight and they're guaranteed a playoff spot with their crowning achievement of the season being a win over 6-5 Michigan in September and zero wins against the top 9 of the SEC.
Penn State is clinging to one top 25 win over #23 Illinois. Likely playoff spot win or lose today. But their 1-1 record against the top 25 will actually look really impressive compared to some of the others...
Indiana is probably the worst of all, having beaten no one in the top 7 of the Big 10. Ohio State was the first team in the top 7 they even played. They still get a spot in the top 10 with a schedule where their best win is 6-5 Michigan who they barely scraped by at home. They'll be safely in the playoff by beating 1-10 Purdue despite probably having no wins against anyone in the top 40-45 teams in America.
Georgia had the audacity to play 4 top-14 teams and only go 2-2, so they are ranked behind a bunch of people who haven't played a single team in the rankings, let alone beaten two.
Miami-0 wins out of 0 games against the current top 25.
SMU-0 wins against the current top 25. Lost at home to BYU, the only ranked team they've played.
Boise State-0 wins against the current top 25, though that's fairly normal for the smaller conferences.
Notre Dame-The last currently ranked team they saw was the first one of the season.
The Big 12 has a 4-way tie for first where NONE of them played any of the others until ASU and BYU finally played last week.
When you have 15-17 other schools in your conferences, half of which you won't see, the luck of the draw in conference scheduling decided some playoff spots before the season started. Just avoid losing to any of your 6 opponents who finish outside the top 10 of the conference and you apparently shall be rewarded with a playoff spot against a team with talent you maybe saw once in your season.Comment

Re: Week 14 Discussion
If the Buckeyes lose this this game, Day needs to be fired, Ohio State looks like absolute garbage.
At home against an unranked Michigan team, 23-point favorites and they come out looking like this?Last edited by Kramer5150; 11-30-2024, 02:55 PM.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Week 14 Discussion
Texas Tech looking to easily beat WVU to finish 8-4(6-3) for the year. It could have been better and worse. A bunch of one score games. 8-4 is where I thought they would end up, they got there differently than I thought.
The TCU loss was probably the biggest where they blew a 13 point lead late and Morton was out to an inaccurate X-ray showing he had a broken bone but ended up not being broken after another X-ray at a hospital. The Washington State game that Brooks was not able to play in due to injury also hurt. The Baylor blowout loss was a surprise, but the win @Iowa State also was a surprise.
Definitely the best 3 seasons stretch since the Leach era for Tech, and the best since 2009 for big 12 play.

Re: Week 14 Discussion
Sawyer gets the big int, and the offense comes out flat yet again...and why in the hell is Kelly calling all these damn stretch plays? they haven't worked all game, but he continues calling this garbage.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment
