What you said is correct. I took Pasta's base roster and started editing LSU (even was able to create 2 missing players) and sure enough the ratings for FIU dropped. So I edited A'mod's name and it restored FIU's correct ratings on the play now screen. I then made other edits, which dropped the ratings. I returned to the FIU roster and edited a Safety who's first name was P.J. Taking the periods out, which again restored the team's rating. I think there is something to the whole special character thing, but being online has nothing to do with it. If you download Pasta's roster and only edit 1 or 2 teams I think that you can use those 2 FIU guys as something of a workaround.

What is going on with this? So can we still download rosters for all teams and if you DON'T edit them yourself you will be fine? Is this happening on both 360 and ps3??

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a "bonus". Rosters editing is the standard in sports games, not the exception. Plus, it actually gives EA some room for error when they put out the game. Mistakes are made, but they can be edited by the user.

Blah, blah, blah, lets stay on topic with a solution to the problem. Right now, it appears as though the Pasta roster is volatile. If you edit that file, you're toast. Likewise, if you edit your default roster online, you're toast. What we need is a roster made offline from scratch. Then the question becomes whether the EA Locker is an issue.

If I just do it myself will I be fine? It seems like it may be a corrupt file or something.

Pasta's rosters are NOT corrupt. If you leave his rosters alone and play your game, your fine.

What is happening is if you edit names on Pasta's roster set, that's when things go haywire. What people over at ncaastrategies have come across is that there is an 11 character limit embedded when you try to edit rosters. Also, characters like hyphens, apostrophes, etc. are in Pasta's set. However, if you try to edit the rosters yourselves, you'll notice you can't use those characters. Therefore, if you try to edit Pasta's rosters, that's when teams disappears, freezes occur, because in essence your disturbing the 11 character limit that is imposed.

You'll notice FIU's PLAY NOW ratings is 0-0-15. If you go into their roster and edit A'Mon Ned's name and remove his apostrophe, you'll resolve FIU's rating issue. Other than that, don't touch Pasta's roster set for now until the character issue is resolved.

As for EA Locker, THAT is what is corrupting the files for people that try to upload rosters and share them. That is something EA will have to address themselves.

I just completed my radio interview and will begin from scratch using the proposed solution of editing the rosters while offline.

My question is why those teams are disappearing? Has anyone checked if those teams have players with those characters that aren't supposed to be there? We know it fixes FIU if you fix A'Mod Ned's name, but will fixing people with these characters on Wyoming, Western Kentucky and FAU fix all problems with the roster file?

Also, funny that A'mod Ned is the one causing the issue. I don't know if you guys remember, but in the rumble with UM, A'mod Ned was the one on the crutches that was posted all over the internet. Something that wasn't posted online was that Lance Legget of UM actually swept his leg and knocked him down during the fight.

You should put it in your Locker and have us be your "testers" and see if anything happens. That way you don't have to do ALL that work and be disappointed.

I could be wrong but I think that equipment counts as well. In my opinion, if you want to do equipment, do whatever names or position changes you have in mind at the same time and use the FIU name workaround.

That's what im wanting to know, I'll probably fix the two names on FIU's roster just to fix its ratings, but im mainly concerned to see if editing the equipment is going to mess it up.

They're disappearing because EA is still using an old database that saves each team. Notice the teams that are disappearing South Florida, FAU, FIU, Troy, Western Kentucky, and Wyoming.

You're thinking, okay.

South Florida & Troy joined Div. 1-A in 2001.
FAU & FIU joined Div. 1-A in 2005.
Western Kentucky joined Div. 1-A last year.

Those are the last teams added to the database, so that's why they disappear. Because they're the most recent teams to join Div. 1-A. The reason why Wyoming disappeared is simply because they're the last team in the original database before South Florida and the rest pop up.


You can edit their equipment, you'll be fine there because you're not disrupting the character limit.

His file is corrupt and you admitted yourself. He has characters and such in his roster that is NOT ALLOWED in the game. That in itself is a corruption. That is also the source of the problems. If it wasn't there these problems wouldn't show up. The issue can't be resolved cause it isn't part of the game and can't be added through a patch.
