its a play action pass, out of the four wide set with the qb under center. the two slot receivers run crossing routes and they are open no matter what play i choose, i cant get pressure on him quick enough because he sees that im blitzing and he throws quick,

if i try to cover one receiver he throws to the other, tried zone, man... blitz.... i dont know what to do.

    any suggestions?
Well aside from the fact that pass coverage in this game is a mess, I would say use a zone that covers the the short middle of the field. You will have to probably roam with a LB or S to take away an option and hope your zone coverage takes care of the other pattern. Man coverage gets killed against playaction and crossing patterns. Also, if its the play im thinking of, there are no passing options in the flat. So don't waste having a defender defending the flat zone. Pick a coverage that defends the intermediate portion of the field. I would probably pick a cover three, with the corners and one saftey playing deep and the LBs and the other safety playing short to intermediate.

The problem is, if you play against a good player, and he sets his play up properly, there will always be an open guy. Agian, if this is the play i'm thinking of, there is a receiver running a fly and the opposite receiver is running a deep pattern as well. HOPEFULLY, EA tunes up pass coverage and reduces qb efficiency without overdoing it.

ya thats the play, he has one guy going deep,

i may try a zone that has the buzz coverage in it, because he waits until the receiver clears the middle before he throws it.

If he does that then have a zone coverage that covers the middle of the field and bring a blitz. If he waits that long for the receiver to clear, then the pressure should get to him and force him to take a sack or force the throw.

Sounds good in theory, but the only way to get pressure in this game is overloading one side of the line and that will leave you overexposed in the pass game against a 4 WR set.

when im getting hurt by short side line to side line crossing routes i like to use the 3-2-5 in dime and run cover two. it puts 6 guys across the field in the 10-15 yard zone drop. it brings no pressure so spread you line and send them wide.
