Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Downloaded the demo last night and played 2 games. I just kinda sat there and shook my head at the game and longed for the day where we as consumers had a CHOICE on which game to get.
The OL/DL interaction is awful. Suction blocking is rampant, and this "pocket" is easy to scramble out of. I tried rolling and chucking to see if it was possible, and yup, i did it 90% of the time(i played on all-american one game and heisman the next).
The DL gets no pressure and it seemed like the only time i got pressure from the CPU was on a blitz.
Running animation and "twitch" cutbacks are a joke. They would look bad for a game on the genesis. There needs to be momentum and realistic turn radius. And for the love of god, get someone in there to mocap different run speeds.
Where the QB releases the ball on a deep throw looks bad on replays. It looks like he is releasing the ball for someone 5 yards in front of him, then all the sudden the ball shoots out at a 60 degree angle and 50 yards downfield.
There needs to be more varied tackles. I think i saw 3 all together.
There is alot more flaws i saw, but i dont want to write them.
BOTTOMLINE: This game is boring to play, unrealistic in just about every regard, Does not represent the atmosphere of a college game at all, Worth $10 as a Xbox live update, and has features out of the box broken already. Seriously, if there was another college football game out, this series would be in deep doo doo.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Its funny how the first pages of the thread started out as i love the demo and its the greatest, then i people keep playing and then there like what is this BS. I waited to play a solid 30 games to give my impression and its not looking good.
1. The cpu can get pressure on u, but u cant get pressure on the cpu, when u blitz the cpu just throws to a quick route. I swear there has been many games where both tebow and bradford were both completing 90% of their passes. OL/DL interaction sucks again.
2. No running game, how can the DL get passed the OL on a run but never on a pass play. No momentum of physics, there is still a ton of warped tackling.
3. User pass defense is a joke, if a player gets a step behing u its almost automatically a catch. The cpu runs slant after slant after the slant, no matter what play i call its always open. The second favorite of the cpu is the flag or post.
I played on heisman since the 1st game, and if this anywhere near the final build we r in trouble. How in the hell does a game do this year in and year out. I kinda hate the whole patch thing b/c it just gives them a way to release crap every year and then try to fix it later. I never seen a game digress over the years like this one, given the new tech and power of these systems this game should look and play beautifully. NO we get some PS1 graphics with SNES gameplay. Just gives us the PS2 game engine and some better graphics and i would be fine. PS3=$500, HDTV=$500, games $65 a piece damn i hate wasting my money.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
My basic impressions have remained unchanged. I think that online play, and head to head games against other humans will be a lot of fun, mainly due to the vast array of gameplay improvements that were made this year.
Against the computer, I am not so sure. Everybody keeps complaining about the gameplay engine or the physics engine, and I actually think those things are pretty close to spot on. The problem is the AI engine, for lack of a better term. The computer just doesn't play like a human opponent -- at all, and as a result, Human v AI games seem to have some inherent problems. Essentially, the problem is that the computer isn't all that smart, so in order for it to effectively compete, it has to take some shortcuts, and those shortcuts often turn out to be problematic.
If you primarily play online, I really think that this year's game will be one of the best NCAA's ever. If you play primarily offline, then it seems like it will continue to have some significant issues.Comment

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but there is a snap glitch on the PS3 version. Don't remember if it happened on the 360 version. I think it is better than last year. (Animations and Player Lock)The Buffalo BillsComment

Has anyone been intercepted or fumbled on a 2 point conversion attempt? I was Oklahoma, got picked off by a gator on the 2 pt conversion, the guy runs out to the 10 yard line and is stopped. I get to the kickoff and Florida is kicking off to me even though I just scored.Comment

I have quit playing the demo on a regular basis. Not because I hate it or whatnot, but because it grows tiring playing the same two teams over and over.
I want the retail version to feel fresh when I get my hands on it. So for now, its back to the Show...with a football game or two sprinkled in here and there.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

When the other team runs no huddle, your dlineman bump into them on the way past, and get called for encroachment. Sooo dumb.NCAAF : Oregon Ducks
NFL : Atlanta Falcons
NBA : Atlanta Hawks

I like player lock, gives us the PS2 special teams view. I like the drop back mechanics of the QB and the feel of the pocket. I must say I like playing with Floridas QB.
I am tired of the snap over the Qb's head and being ruled an incomplete. I am tired of the clock not starting until you snap the ball after a first down.
To me it feels like cement shoes linebackers and Qb's are gone. It seems that DL are quicker this year.
Right now I am leaning toward buying it. Hopefully these few annoinances are fixed in the final version.I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me!

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I had much more success getting a pass rush by using the defensive keys and picking pass in the obvious situations (PS3) Dunlap was player of the game with 2 sacks, also forced 3 bad throws by getting their a split second late.
Has anyone else seen a difference in play by using the defensive keys?"If it cost to be the boss then I guess I gotta pay." Lil WayneComment
