I do know that a certain route by the RB from the gun works as a consistent 6 yard gainer against man. I dont know what its called, but its basically a combination of the swing and slant routes. The ball snaps and he runs forward diagonally to the sideline. Unfortunently its only on certain plays. You cant audible to it, although you could try audibling his route to an outside slant when in the gun.

A crossing route by the tight end works well too. He's usually strong enough to get seperation. Obviously the better the tight end the more consistent it is.

Drags are easy catches, but for some reason this year receivers slow down a lot when they catch the ball, so you wont get any YAC.

Thats all I've come up with.

      This is vintage EA really

Instead of programming man coverage correctly, the just go ahead and make it harder by having the AI cheat you.

I understand what they were trying to do.. you dont get route mirroring all of the time, but when you get, it you get it big time.

I played someone who tried this with me, and I just motioned a back out of the back field and hit my HB on quick slants and outs, until he knocked it off.

The mirroring is terrible, but won't lowering it to 35 make it too easy? I've been playing on AA with pass coverage between 80-100 and i can still throw for 300+ yards fairly easy if i want to. I might try it tomorrow, but I've set my sliders so that i get a challenge, and I think lowering to 35 might make it too easy, even though what i have going on now is horrendously bad mirroring.

I'm not kidding when I say that every time I've run a Fake FG Pass, it's worked. I haven't always completed the pass, because of some inaccurate throws, but every time my receivers have been wide open because they picked FG Block.

So, I haven't seen that issue.

I've run 7, and had them go safe man or zone 6 of the 7 times, plus another time where I called timeout because they gave it away presnap (sometimes, if they're in man, one of the defenders will be late getting into the formation, he'll run to the right as you get set). And on my actual FG's, they have played zone or man 0 times.

I'd say the most frustrating thing about the mirroring is that EVERYONE does it. I just played a game where the CPU corner blitzed me an oddly high amount, and the safeties were able to mirror my WR's double moves perfectly.

Epoxy tight man coverage and linemen who are secretly on scholarship to play basketball (and jump the exact moment I press a receiver's button) are my biggest gripes in this game.

The only time I completed the pass is when the QB threw it over the DB head after the DB made his break before my WR.
I've never been able to hit a stop route in any football game without the CPU jumping the ball, so I stopped using them long ago.

Not just an NCAA 11 issue, but a football video game issue.

Funny thing, I've had this happen so extreme that it's actually HARMFUL when the CPU DB jumps the route, because he jumps the route so far ahead of my WR, that my WR actually becomes wide open.

But it's nothing you can't fix with just dropping the slider a bit, so it's no big deal.

Not to mention lowering it that far would hurt zone coverage as well, when zone coverage is just about right on default.

Re: Man Coverage in this game NEEDS to be fixed

Was playing earlier in a Play Now match against Tulsa then Texas. Both games the CPU mirrored my WRs exactly. LBs, CBs and safeties.

In both games I also noticed my LBs, CBs and safeties having trouble following the WRs. Again Tulsa they ran about 5 yards up then did a 90 degree turn and completely lost my CB, became open by 5+ yards.

I'd get lucky and have a CB run into a LB thus leaving my guy some separation but other than that it was impossible for guys to become open. I've had to resort to lowering their Pass Coverage. It's crazy some of the slider sets have it up to 80.

Slider set at 35. Good example of a receiver doing his job.

I'm not really noticing any issues on AA, default sliders. Slants work, drags work, tight end ins work, WR screens work, the comeback routes work effectively and once in a while, you see the deep post routes work too.

I definitely see the mirror problem, but you can still get the ball to the receivers. The passing game has always been about timing and it's no different in this year's version if you ask me.

Meh, for me, it has been a mixed bag playing Play Now on Heisman. Sometimes the CPU DB will resort to the "omniscient" D and just run the route, other times, he is clueless.

Honestly, like one of the posters said earlier, you should really check out the DB's Covererage ratings, since, there are alot of them that are really jacked up. Maybe try lowering this and see if it has any effect.

No help for online ranked play, but, may help for the other modes.

On a side note, do you ever try pump faking? You should if you do not. It really does help. Well, it has helped for me, anyway, for whatever that's worth.
