    Soft Commit Question

I am recruiting #1 Player in country, a speedy HB. just my style... I've been his #3 then #2, and about 2 weeks after being #2, he is soft to a school, I spent 60 min w/ 2x and got him to be soft commit with me after my previous game. I want to try to lock him down and hard commit. What is the best way to go about it to make sure he doesn't flip on me like he did the previous week? Thanks!

Spend a lot of time with him and make sure he visits your campus.

When it get's close like that the best thing to do is give him as much time as possible. Try to do a lot of comparison pitches to do some damage to your competitor. Every point counts. But above all else, keep hammering away!

make him a promise you feel comfortable with if you havent already. A hour every phone call too and make sure he is number 1 on your recruting board.

Wow....I did not realize that where a recruit is placed on your recruiting board had an effect. Learned something new.

No he saying that where a recruit is located on YOUR recruiting board. Ala, #1 through #35 (or however many you have on your board).

And I don't think it actually makes a difference really. Perhaps it does when you sim but if you give player (a)an hour and player (b) an hour than I don't think it matters at all if they were priority 1 or 35 on your board.

Ofcourse I could be wrong tho.

I'm not sure that's true. If so I have some reorganizing to do!

Comparison pitch the school that's below you.

Has anyone else noticed a pink diamond or open lock next to a prospects name? What does this mean, am I missing something obvious? Saw the pink diamond next to a prospect that had a soft commit to another school just the other day. Not sure if it's related or not?

I'd like to know more about this? I have just frantically reorganised my board!

The pink diamond means adding them to your recruiting board will put you in their top 10 schools instantly. The open lock means one of pitches for that player has been unlocked.
