    Road to Glory defense camera

I'm trying to play as a CB in RTG and it's nearly impossible with the camera at an angle plus all of the constant spinning and zooming in/out. I hate it for all of the defensive positions but for CB it's just game killing.

It's like whenever the receiver i'm guarding makes a cut the camera angle changes and I end up running in the wrong direction. Seems like it wasn't tested because I don't see how anybody could use it and think that it was good or even usable really.

I can't tell you how many big plays i've given up and tackles i've missed just because of a poor camera.

I am in a RTG career as a DT. The camera angles do vary, and when I am required to drop back into coverage, the camera only points to the qb, which makes it impossible for me to see where I need to so I can track receivers coming across the middle.

While it is frustrating, I just pretend that my guy is just a big run-stoppin' DT and he may not end up the multitalented game changin' star I wish.

I'm surprised more people aren't mad about this cuz the developers clearly said that they worked on the camera on defense to make it better. Which was asked during the interview done by twitter.

It is difficult trying to be a good DLineman. Too much sliding, too many Cutblocks, Some Animations are pointless, Getting Stuck in Animations.
Madden's Line Interaction seems alot better. So I will import them into Superstar.
The main problem with the camera angle is that the camera angle is focused on where ever the ball is. So Only real position on Defense that looks good is MLB and Safety. The Camera should be focused on whats in front of you and zoomed out , so when it swings it doesnt have a huge effect

Trust me the camera is no good at safety either because when the ball is in the air, you are SOL. We should just have either the regular camera for RTG or reverse the regular camera when on defense. It just seems insane to have the type of camera it does without being able to move it but that would be kind of hard to implement to given that the right stick is used for hit sticking

Yeah I hate the RTG camera. I don't even like the player lock camera, very poorly done imo. I like the player lock concept too, but the camera ruins it.

I never created a Safety or MLB this year. Being Limited to only 5 min quarters, prevented me from playing those positions. But I am definitely creating them for Madden Superstar. Even though you are the auto-starter, Custom Quarter Lengths, Better XP system, and Coordinator Audio; Makes me really excited for that mode than RTG. So I will create a Safety and LB for SS, but I will make them a Senior,

Hold the "A" button if the camera starts to make you control funny. It is the computer assist they'll keep you afloat until the camera is good enough to where you can make plays again that's what I do at least

I really only use Defensive Assist if I am out of position. But yea, it is a good thing to use if camera is swinging

I have to play on heisman to get any action on my CB and there is no defensive assist, it seems like on the lower levels the apposing QB simply will not challenge me at all if i'm anywhere close to the receiver i'm holding. They still don't challenge me really but I can at least bait the QB sometimes.

It seems like on defense no matter what position you pick the CPU tries to avoid you like you're Deion Sanders or something but I guess that's a topic for another thread.

                      ^This.

I'm playing as a HB/CB Ironman.. currently in HS still, and getting pretty frustrated on the CB half. It's almost a waste of time, because 1) the play call is usually cover-4 or some kind of prevent zone defense and 2) the opposing QB NEVER throws to my half of the field.

I'm destined to be a 2-star CB because I never get a chance to get tackles or INTs.

I think i'm just gonna have to give up on playing CB. I simply cannot adjust to passes with the camera spinning.

I played a full 4 years as MLB for Michigan. I had to mess with some sliders to get any fun out of it on AA. But I ended up winning the 3 major awards 3 years in a row and 2 of them my Freshman year :P

You come in as a Freshmen rated like 91 I think overall so it wasn't to hard to get a lot of sacks and tackles. About halfway through I started using the A button a lot more though because I was sick and tired of missing tackles while a RB was going by because the camera was spining around. Not only does this disorientate you, it makes your left stick change the direction of your player screwing up your angles!!! Thats the most annoying part.

I got to the point the last 2 seasons where I used A for anything the camera started to rotate on and X if it was a tackle in the backfield or a QB Sack. I had 99 hit the last season or 2 and I could hardly ever use the hit stick because of the camera rotation so that was a waste as well. When you use A though they will big hit sometimes so you will end up getting some FF that way.

I don't understand why they just don't use the top down normal defensive player view you get when you play a regular game, it would be 100X better than the current thing they have going.

Yeah I wish I could tolerate the camera. Playing SS still is an issue. It makes me feel like a horse with blindersl on. Coaches tell you "keep your head on a swivel" can't do that as a RTG safety. And I hate that.

If you're in the right position you shouldn't have a camera shift. The camera locks on the ball, so if the ball or ballcarrier whizzes by you and the camera changes to follow, you were already out of position anyway.
It may hinder you from making a play after the fact, but the camera isn't why you didn't make the play initially.
As a DB, if the ball flies over your head, thats the only way the camera will change, and thats your fault because no one should be behind you. But if you get back into your zone, keeping your man in front of you, you'll have no problem making a play on the ball without a camera change effecting you since the ball remains in front of you. I truly only have camera issues once I've already fudged on coverage.

It took me a while to get the hang of the CB thing. But once I did, I became a beast.
