    Not true, there are a lot of companies that will compensate you. I had a blueray player for 6 months and it wouldn't unload a DVD. Sony replaced it with an upgraded model for free. It also depends on were you buy the product from. If you can prove you have been a repeat customer some companies will give you something extra for your troubles in the event of an issue with their product....

      It's different, you could either get a new tv that ACTUALLY WORKS or a full refund / store credit. He can't return NCAA 12 and get a working / fixed copy, because there are none. Nor can he get a full refund after its opened.

        I agree for the most part, but the patch is their fix for this. That would have to not come out at all in order for compensation to be appropriate.

          I think most of us here would just be thrilled with a smooth working video game. It's crazy really, but we all want to like the thing. Not like we're out for blood for the fun of it.

            ....You must not be a longtime EA customer. Fight Night Champion's patches and tuners actually broke advertised features and the Freezing still persists, and now they are done patching. The game plays nowhere near what the demo represented or what was given to the reviewers to review. Even if you did your research and made an informed decision based on the demo and reviews, you were screwed. Honestly, they owe everyone a refund, but you won't get it.

            But at least that was enough to vow to not buy another EA game until all the patches and tuners are released. Anyone that buys an EA sports game at launch is in for weeks of frustration, maybe more. We should all know that by now.

              I have to ask how old the OP is because in the transcript posted, the OP came off as a very impatient 12 year old. What did you really expect to get out of this? It's like the same people posting in the patch forum. I keep checking for news and all that seems to be posted is angry, poorly spelt angry missives.

              Another reason why I think this forum needs an age limit attached but I digress...

                I can't say enough how right you are. I'm on everybody's side about the not working aspect of this. The working game thing is something they are promising and will have to deliver. Is it so wrong that i believe that we as adults shouldn't have our hands out though for extra compensation beyond what it takes to make it right?

                I get the frustration, i get the anger, i've been an outspoken "EA quality" critic for years now. But i just don't see how giving people something for their "trouble" is something they should be obligated to do or even entertain.

                And also, Fiddy, i apologize. I meant it for comparison purposes and it came out differently than i intended.

                  Once again, I AGREE. I have been a longtime EA customer, BUT...

                  Call the BBB as ask them if offering a patch to fix all issues is more than enough to keep from having to compensate the customers who bought this game. All i'm saying is that in the eyes of consumer law, they are doing more than enough. It doesn't matter if we know that they're lazy and incompetent and that the patch isn't going to be the holy grail. All that matters is that from a business standpoint, they ONLY OWE US A WORKING GAME.

                  I'm being misrepresented and misunderstood more on one thread than i ever thought possible.

                    What did I expect? Did you not read the thread? I expected to have her help me and give back some $$$ bc of the game not working correct. It worked.

                    Thank you EA for the 1600 MS Points... Also got an apology from a higher rep bc of Shelley signing off and leaving me hanging.

                    I suggest you guys do the same and get something out of this mess.

                      Congrats, but you do understand that things like this are why we have to deal with "robots" on the other end of phones right? Thanks to modern entitled society, they have to be careful not to "offend" anybody and have to be on perfect behavior while the customer is allowed to just lay into them. I'm glad you got the MS points, i definitely see how that helps this whole situation.

                          I am kinda torn on this one, as someone who works in customer service, I know how shelley may have felt, while I dont think fiddy was rude to her and it was a chat, so even if he was yelling at her, how would she have known it??? secondly i feel fiddy in wanting some type of compensation for his troubles, and all of you "holier than thou" people on here, I can see you calling your cell phone company, hey i was underground conducting a business call, and it dropped, so what can i get for this inconvience?? most people have asked for something in this case, so I am not going to call fiddy out on that, but being in customer care, you do get tired of people asking for handouts, or getting mad about things that you cant control sitting in the chair you are in.

                            In all honesty, I don't like the manner in which the OP did it, but I have no problem with someone calling customer service to make complaints about the game, especially this game lol. That's what they're there for. There have been numerous occasions where I have been unhappy with a product and called customer service and got compensated.

                            All you people asking him did he expect her to fix the game are being a little facetious. Of course he didn't expect her to fix the game. What he did expect and got,apparently, was to be compensated for having to wait to be able to play the game. if you're not happy with a product, there's nothing wrong with calling customer service and voicing your displeasure. I do it all the time. I'm guessing most of yall don't know that if you call a manufacturer of a product with a legitimate complaint, a lot of times, you can be compensated for your inconvenience. Sometimes, it's just a $5 or $10 gift card to the store that you bought it from or whatever, but it's something.

                            Now like I said earlier in this post, I think the OP could have been a little more respectful to representative, but I see nothing else wrong that he did. I try to be respectful just because I know you're more likely to get what you want with your first call if you are. Some of yall might want to get of your high horse and stop bashing the OP for doing the smart thing, IMO, by getting compensated for this inconvenience. In fact, I'm about to contact EA customer service right now. lol

                              No, here you state they "ONLY OWE US A WORKING GAME". We both agree, but I have given you an example of an EA game that came out this year in Fight Night Champion that still freezes up across both platforms and they are done patching it. I think everyone has valid concerns at this point that whatever is hindering Dynasties from functioning properly may not be resolved.

                              As far as consumer law goes you are correct, if the disk works and the system doesn't lock up, it doesn't matter how rancid the gameply may be, they have delivered a working product and there is no recourse. But with the freezing, etc, and the abandonment of Fight Night Champion where freezing still persists, EA is walking a fine line.
