Re: NCAA Football 12 Title Update #2 - Waiting on Approval From Microsoft and Sony

I aslo researched that the online pass is the exact cost of developing the game. ie per game. So i suggest to any one who has problems with the game or purchasing the game because of present and past issues to not but a use one from any game retailer unless it is under 40 or right at 40 dollars because then you'll save 10 bucks by purchasing an online pass. also, another solution is to dont by the game at all and purchase it from a friend or pawn shop for cheap. and never trade in a game. thats the dummest thing you can do. then the game retailers make an extra profit from that. Do it this way and i guarantee a change will come.

Torrent, that's all I've got to say I usually buy my games new from Gamestop, occasionally I'll buy one used if I'm short on cash at the moment but if EA keeps making half-@ssed I won't pay for them plain and simple, I know it's wrong but I get tired of wasting money on pos games.

That wouldn't stop all of the drama. There will always be drama, just some people instigate it more than others. Even if the patch fixes everything and adds some new things (static conference prestige, coaching progression fixed, all CPU coaches being stat tracked as well, ability to remove conferences) they will still be hastled for taking 2 months, poor visibility and not interacting with people here. People will always find a way to complain.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Title Update #2 - Waiting on Approval From Microsoft and Sony

You know, I have defended EA to an extent on here, and thankfully I haven't caught too much hell for it.

I've had some freezing issues and of course the tendency bug sucks. I've noticed that it messes with simulation stats a bit as well.

But I am still playing the game... Still enjoying it a bit, though I have played this year's title less than any other year. I am starting to really sour on the staleness of this game. I remember all of the old features on the older consoles and how much more in-depth the game was. It was pretty damn amazing at one point. I just think back to this series on the current consoles and how underwhelming they've been.

I can speak my mind and I can also change my mind. I think where EA continues to drop the ball is in their communication with us, their loyal (to a fault) customers. People are right - it's downright snaky of them to be around the forums before their game drops, hyping up their product to get as many people excited as they can... and once it happens, they're gone. Vanished. We can't get answers. We can't get any updates. This thread, when you really look at it, is sad. The one thing we all have in common here is our love for this game, but so many here are holding on to something that is gone. This game has run it's course, at least on this console. The atmosphere and sheer essence of college football will not be captured any time soon. They have an exclusive license to a sport like no other - college football - and this game is truly boring most of the time and full of bugs and glitches that brings true rage out of people. Then, they can't step up to the plate and face us. That's what kills me. But we continue to be their enabler. We all want to believe that the game can be so much more. We buy the hype, because we want to believe the hype. Ah, but when does belief equal reality with this game?

I remember sending them a new screenshot of Washington's new end zones and new home uniforms. I can't remember the e-mail response word for word, but it said something like, "We're sorry that the new uniforms and end zone art did not make it in for this year's release. We thank you for the information and the visuals to show us how we can make our game better."

Same old uniforms in this year's game, same old end zones. Their response above was for nothing; it was nothing more than to draw me in for this year's game.

Bottom line, this is the machine they run. Release the game, weather the initial storm, release the patch (hype), weather the storm (ignore the masses), release the last patch. Then they put their head in the sand.

The year after... Rinse and repeat. Except find new ways to build the hype even more.

That same vicious cycle just gets repeated. When has it been any different on the current systems?

Again, find a post on here from me when I slam EA or put down this game. I have said multiple times that I have bought this game year in and year out since it's inception. I was the same with Madden, until a couple of years ago, when I finally quit buying it. I hope I can get to that same point with NCAA until EA earns my dollars.

What has ignited this anger? Washington (me) versus Oregon; fourth quarter, score tied at 35. :48 seconds left. I am driving and get the ball in the red zone with :22 seconds left. After two straight runs, I get the ball positioned in the middle of the field and call a timeout. With :07 left, I call on the field goal team. It's a chip shot, and I am already thinking about how great the visits will be for the five recruits in the stands... I am thinking that Chris Polk probably just got in the Heisman discussion after a 26-carry, 244-yard effort.

The ball is hiked. The kick is up. Looks to be dead center. Not quite, but the kick is good by a country mile. Game over. I just knocked off #1 Oregon, 38-35... But wait? The game... No... Please? Please! Frozen. The kick is suspended right before it hits the "All State" net in the background. I frantically hit start. I put the controller down. I walk outside. I pray. Come back in, the screen is still frozen. This is the fifth time the game has froze on me in eight games.

How can any of us feel good about that. This patch should have been out a month ago - no, the game never should have been released in it's current form, but it was, because EA knows we're willing to be beta testers. And for us, the ones who complain, who's fault is that really?

I'm done blabbing now. I'm just beyond frustrated.

Considering the current state of the game, it's all pretty justifiable 'complaining' right now.

Further, complaining is what gets things done. My $65 earns me a voice, even if no one wants to listen.

I don't completely disagree with you, though. I get it. It gets bothersome and annoying. But these are not minor annoyances. I think most people would forgive if the patch delivers on what it said it will deliver on. Sure, some people are going to always complain about the time it took, but they will be in the minority. Right now, they are not.

I don't expect the Development Team to come to OS and talk to us. They have lives, they are busy... Whatever. But I do think the company could keep us in the loop just a tad bit better. They are here before the game drops and then they disappear once it's released. I don't blame them as the complaining does get deafening and if I was a developer, I'd probably avoid this place too - but that doesn't mean that I'd quit trying to keep the people who pay my salary in the loop.

Honestly the only way to truely getting things shooken up is either if it is nationally brought forward (a la the lawsuit) or you hit them where it hurts, their profit margin. Until then we honestly can only hope that the team decides to look at their product hard and decides to improve it properly. If they could keep the features they have and implement the old ones and tighten up the gameplay. It would be a good start.

The complaints are justified, it's your money spent. I am only saying that complaining on OS is like complaining to a friend of a friend that the product is faulty. Then people come in asking for true information and wanna talk about it then pages of smart comments follow. This thread shouldn't be anywhere near the eighty or so pages. It's just irritating to see a good forum being degraded to simple whining.

This isn't directed at your post, it's thought out and well put to show the grievance, it's more so directed at the posts that are generally just there to incite more problems, rage and annoyance.

I also never really expected Tiburon to be crystal clear and be on here like the buddies they would seem to be during pre game hype. When you buy a car, the dealer will pretend like your long time friend and you cannot live without the car. As soon as your signature is on the dotted line, they are gone. Same general idea.

I just bought a 2011 Chevy Silverado on July 4. It's a beautiful truck. Two weeks after I bought it, I was still getting calls from the dealership asking me how I liked it or if I had questions. Big, chain dealership, too. That has also happened with my realtor. He continues to send birthday cards and $25 gift cards during Christmas. When I buy another rig, I'm going to that same dealership. When I sell my house, I'm calling the same agent who helped us buy our house.

Point is, it *might* be that way, but it doesn't have to be. EA thrives on repeat customers, so some adequate customer service would probably serve them well, IMO. Really, all most of us want is adequate.

Also, I did acknowledge that they don't need to come to OS. But they could post more on their Twitter, such as quick updates. It doesn't have to be intimate at all. Just throw us a bone every once in a while.

I do think most of the developers read OS. ODogg got a shout out from the development team about the dread locks. So, they're around. Trust me.

Those two examples are exceptions not the case, good that your getting good service. We had the opposite with a brand new 07 Aveo that my parents bought, now the suspension and transmission is shot and the dealership won't even help us locate parts.

I was just saying, it's the same show and dance yearly and it's generally that way for video games, especially sports games. It's not ideal and I don't like it. I agree with you clarity and quality would be a refreshing change, but it's obvious that Tiburon isn't going that far.

I don't deny that the devs read this site, but not as much as some people think. I do agree with your ideals, but I don't believe we will get that out of Tiburon / EA. Quality should be improved. After the debacles with Madden and NCAA I hope EA is holding the lighter under Tiburon.

You guys can't compare a car to a video game, each car is unique. Two of us could go buy the same car built right after one another and have a uniquely different result. There are 100,000 components that go into each car made by various technologies with various levels of control and its the same for every OEM.

In general we all bought the same NCAA 12, they program the game and then copy it.
