I'm not sure you even need completely separate modes (that's what 1-Button is for I assume?). It seems like the really in depth stuff could work in conjunction with the broader game.

If I wanted to scout out match ups and gameplan for mismatches between my Strongside OLB and their TE or slotback or whatever, then that shouldn't be an overwhelming detriment to my opponent. But it would make the game much deeper for those of us that would take advantage of it.

All the position-specfic tendencies and player generation stuff DorianDonP mentions in the OP could be handled automatically by the CPU so it wouldn't even impact rookies.

They would stop buying in the franchise. EA wouldn't make as much money, and they aren't gonna lose money. Remember, we arent the avg players. We care enough about the game to research it and even sign up an post here. Millions do not.
Completely agreed, while I would love this kind of depth in a game I feel like many casual, non football playing users would find it confusing and lose interest

That was a hell of a well written and thoroughly explained post.

        Very nice OP.

I had convinced myself that the current game engine was just too unrealistic and played out to be fun any more, but if they implemented your ideas into the game I think it would give new life and cover up some of the fundamental football flaws in the gameplay without a major overhaul.
