Herschel Walker ran people over like it was a demolition derby and kept on trucking. When was the last time you ran someone over flat in an EA game?

What made the guys on that list ELITE is the very special skills they brought to the game of football. If you can't replicate that, what's the point?
Yes but did he have a "Special move"? No. You don't make players special by giving them unrealistic unstoppable "special moves". It's been done in a basketball game and is pretty much broken, as in it can be done every time without fail (you can search some YouTube vids on that as well).

Barry was a great running back due to his crazy agility and acceleration and most important of all.. low center of gravity and ability to get his hips above a tackle attempt which caused him so bounce off.

Giving him some silly undefendable juke or spin does not do anything positive.

I'd say giving him an undefendable juke/spin is better than giving him bullet time and a overall player rating above 100.

One on one, his footwork was virtually undefendable.

I would be fine with this mode if Barry Sanders ran the ball like Barry. Nasty juke moves and all out elusiveness. I'm not a big fan of APF, but those player specific animations were crazy. That's the way EA should've approached this mode, IMO.

But as it stands, I won't be touching this mode. It's nothing here for a longtime fan of of the franchise. I'm not going to complain too much, because this generation of EA football games (in the terms of bringing something new to the table) has been disappointing to say the least.

The only one that even intrigues me a little bit to play as is Barry Sanders...buuuuuut (and it's a huge but)....he doesn't play like Barry Sanders!

NBA 2K captured Jordan's mannerisms, moves, etc almost perfectly. There were times I played that mode and I was like wow, I remember the game that Jordan did that move.

Barry Sanders isn't going to be low to the ground, shifty, and making the most ridiculous juke moves you've ever seen. He's going to play like a cheese version of any other running back in NCAA Football 13.

NBA 2K had great dynasty and gameplay before they need to 'shake things up' with a mode like the Jordan Challenges.

NCAA still has a lot of work to do in those areas so it's frustrating to see them create a mode like this now, and then to not implement in a way that it doesn't feel like a modified version of RTG (which it is). I just feel like this development time could have been better used elsewhere.

Do you make them special by placing them in The Matrix and allowing them to stop time to have super human vision?

All those things you listed are signature to Barry Sanders, they are who he is. That ability to get low, explode from the hips and change direction at a speed foreign to 99 out of every 100 running backs in football.

The problem here is that Barry Sanders will run like Montee Ball who will run like Marcus Lattimore who will run like Rex Burkhead who will run like the running back on Directional State Technical Institute. Everyone runs and looks the same.

This mode is essentially boosting a generic player model to 99 in every rating, slapping a name on his back and that's it. Oh, and the Matrix camera.

The thing that got me here was that the legends will have OVR ratings over 100. First of all, there shouldn't be any way for a rating scale from 0 to 99 to have ratings over 100. Secondly, it almost sounds like they made the legends better than they actually were. Yeah, Doug Flutie was great, but was he perfect enough to be over 100 on a scale of 0 to 99? No way. Outside of Barry Sanders, most of these legends don't even deserve to be 99s, let alone 100+ ratings. Did every single guy in the NBA's Greatest get to be over 100 overall or even 99 overall? No, because they weren't that good. All this mode sounds like is a way to play the senior season of RTG with an extremely cheesy player that happens to look like a legend.

I want no part of the bullet time stuff.

Should the make spin, stiff arm, truck...etc more effective than it currently is for elite rated attributes? Yes... but should players have some "special move" oh heck no! That is unrealistic and exploit laden. That's some "Bulls vs Lakers" type stuff right there. And we already see that in a game on the market currently.

But for those people who are excited about "bullet time" --a la Max Payne-- I'm (pretending to be) happy for you.

I want to see these Heisman players play this way on the field and be represented properly.

Have we ever seen these things happen in any version of NCAA Football since the old gen systems?

This just pretty much sealed the deal that if I pick it up it will be used.
More time putting in extra fluff instead of getting the core game down.
I'm all for adding these types of things for those that want it but AFTER it plays a good game of football.

I'll keep watching things until release in the hopes they have something else to show that will make it a game to pick up day 1.

OK I have made it known in most of my posts on here that I am an equipment guy. Here EA is claiming to have the Heisman winners in the equipment that they wore...the sad thing is that none of them will be except RG3, and maybe the previous 5 winners.

Look at Herschel Walker...sure they gave him a lineman facemask but it isn't what he wore...but hey close enough right EA?

Doug Flutie and Desmond Howard all wore the single 3 bar facemask that was IN THE GAME until last year when they took it out for some reason. So instead they will wear the 3 bar facemask with 2 bars up top. Again close enough!

Everything EA does is half way. They might have a good idea but they never finish it. Wouldn't it be nice if they added to Teambuilder???? It could be such an amazing feature for us to use but they put it in the game and haven't touched it since. What about fixing offline dynasty so we can completely customize it, have spring ball, players that progress and physically grow over a 4 year career, coaching changes that work, expanded rosters, even duplicate numbers.

Don't get me started on the equipment and player model errors that are just embarrassing anymore. This mode is a slap in the face to a lot of us NCAA fans who take the time to make wish lists and give suggestions to what we want in the game.

Thank you EA for adding a game mode no one wanted with a stupidass matrix camera mode. Next year willyou please ignore any and all of the gameplay issues and create a cheerleadermode. Instead of matrix camera mode maybe they can throw pom-poms which willact like the red turtle shell on old school Mario cart. Thanks again for throwing more glitter on thepile of crap that you have made.

Barry was a great running back due to his crazy agility and acceleration and most important of all.. low center of gravity and ability to get his hips above a tackle attempt which caused him so bounce off.

Giving him some silly undefendable juke or spin does not do anything positive.

Check out the player specific animations in AP2K8...look at the way Barry runs in that game, look at Walter Peyton's scissor kick animation, the ferocity of OJ Simpson, Marcus Allen's finesse moves etc etc. there are PLENTY of examples of how football players have specific animations that could have been added. Barry Sanders has a video vault full of things EA could have used.

This mode feels cheapened, due to a lack of effort. Bullet time running is terrible. They should have gone back to NCAA 06 with the impact moments, worked better and stayed true to the game of football. It's like one of the posters here said, we can essentially create 16 Heisman candidates ourselves and play through a career now. This mode is not even close to what 2K11 did with Jordan Challenge or Legends Challenge in 2K12. I, like many, had high hopes for this mode.
