Re: Are there any more tuners or patches in the works?
EA strategically launching this game in July masks so many flaws due to the initial excitement of having a football game to play. Now that games are on I often find myself wondering if the last olay can happen in NCAA 13. Usually I say "NO".
I'm really tired of the "generic-ness" of this franchise when it comes to players on the field. Between there not being enough ratings and the CPU AI being horrendus I'm just really frustrating. I feel like all you have to do is wait the CPU out and they will eventually self-destruct. I can't believe that this game has been out for nearly 2 months and coverage AI is still a disaster.Comment

Re: Are there any more tuners or patches in the works?
Every time I watch a game on tv this opening week, I am reminded how far off the series is from the real game of NCAA football. Instead of the season opening making me want to play the game more, it has the opposite effect. You get a reality check.
This series needs new animations across the board. More in particular new running, throwing and tackling animations. Players move too stiff.
I kind of fear what NCAA 14 will look like now. Because if they slap on the infinity engine over these stiff rigid robotic like animations. it just going to look even worse.
One thing Madden and FIFA had PRIOR to getting physics is smooth organic looking animations. Player movement wasn't stiff looking.
This is the opposite with the NCAA series. NCAA series always had stiff rigid everybody running and moving around like that got a stick up their butt. And the reason why ? Their player models don't have enough joints in their skeletal mesh.Comment

Re: Are there any more tuners or patches in the works?
As I watched a full opening weekend of college games Thursday, Friday and Saturday a few things I noticed that NCAA 13 doesn't do.
1. Throw on the run. During all the games I watched, I noticed that college QBs threw the ball on the run A LOT. Especially the balanced and scrambling type of QBs. They didn't stand in the pocket much, instead they rolled out and threw on the run a lot. So maybe EA needs to tune that.
2. Seen quite a bit of punt returns and kick off returns for a TD opening weekend. As we all know, that doesn't happen in NCAA 13 at all.
3. Seen a good amount of punt blocks, FG blocks and extra point blocks. Doesn't happen in NCAA 13.
4. A lot of WR screen plays. Seems as though this year everybody is trying to get the fastest player on the team out in open space for he can just use his speed. The blocking on screen plays need to be better and the speed of the ball need to be faster. CPU QB need to get the ball out faster and put more zip on the ball.
5. A lot of formation specific substitutions teams were using to create mismatches. CPU doesn't do this in NCAA 13.
6. Stronger players dragging defenders for extra yards. Seen a lot of this. Doesn't happen in NCAA 13.
7. Defensive ends creating a pass rush and causing havoc. Doesn't happen in NCAA 13.
8. A big offensive or defensive line man handling a line that is much smaller then them. Doesn't happen in NCAA 13 at all.Comment

9. Best safeties in the nation or any safety for that matter are not gyrating back and forth unsure of whether or not to cover deep go route or middle crossing pattern ultimately getting so far out of position that the go route is virtually a touchdown every time no matter what level or slider adjustments.
10. Defenses (CPU) making in game adjustments to stop plays that are continuously beating them.Last edited by ucas005; 09-02-2012, 03:09 PM.Comment

Re: Are there any more tuners or patches in the works?
I posted this in my slider thread - but I figure game changers get noticed from EA by posting videos - I'll do the same.
This is the UTLIMATE gamebreaker in this damn game. I love NCAA 13 - but I can't look past this crap anymore. I am at my wits end.

Re: Are there any more tuners or patches in the works?
I created an account just to post this. I haven't owned a college football game since 2007 for Xbox. Picked up a 360 and '13 and immediately discovered the deep ball issue. Simply unacceptable. Do they not understand that it makes the game unplayable? If my business put out a design like this we wouldn't be in business for long.
I am guessing that it can't be fixed, since EA has not fixed it by now. Unless they pull off a miracle, I won't be purchasing any EA products now or in the future, and I would encourage you all to do the same.
What they are doing makes great business sense in the long run. Why put out a great game when they know we'll all come crawling back with $60 for the "upgraded" version next year? JUST SAY NO!Last edited by TK22867; 09-03-2012, 10:26 PM.Comment
