I was playing a game yesterday and thought I saw a glitch, but then tested it and realized the game was just a lot smarter than I thought it was. I thought my DB's were looking at the qb but not rushing at him fast enough when he took off for a scramble, then I realized the only times they did that was when I was in man coverage, and with a closer look, they were only staying that far back because of the QB being behind the LOS and there being a chance he could throw to their man if he were to go to the QB. It looks weird at times but it's actually pretty realistic. I manually tried to rush him with my db, dove at his knees and he JUST got the ball off, wr is wide open and had a blocker ready. I should have listened to my play call, haha

Take this with a grain of salt. I am one of 6 people around here who still loves and plays NCAA 13.
Pros:
IE 2.0 is far better than the mess that was M13
I really like the WR matchup numbers a very nice touch
Option and running game are excellent
Colors are very rich and pop off the screen (but there is a con on this)
Lot's of cool new animations
I like the speed of the game as it feels slowed down
Players have a weighty feel this year
Coordinator Cam is very cool on offense
Zoom Cam is nice to have as well.
Cons
It is basically the same game....it really is. Just added some physics which help
The colors are too rich and make the game look cartoony to my eyes.
I do not like the new intros at all. I love NCAA 13's pre-game rituals and Rece Davis doing some pre-game talking. Then again I do not know if this was taken out as this is a play now demo and not a dynasty demo like 13 was.
Overall the game has some new wrinkles...it is nothing groundbreaking and not a game I need to purchase anytime soon. It is a wait and see how the AI really is for retail and after the slider makers here cut their teeth on this game for a few months.
Now I am intrigued with the new recruiting, and coaching skill tree. But again I am one who is still playing and loving NCAA 13. So I don't feel like I have to have a new college football game. If it turns out the game's AI and option game are truly far better( and the option game is better i can already see that)....I will get in when the price drop happens for Black Friday.
Is the demo good? Absolutely. Feels like 13 with a better running game, brighter colors, some new camera options and it does feel more organic. All positive developments.
But not to the point of OMG I gotta have this game. Now Playing on PS5:
CFB 26 Hurricanes/Fresno State Year 2
MLB The Show 25 - 2025 Yankees Year 1

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I'm still playing 13. My biggest gripe with 13 still exists in the 14 demo. When a CPU receiver makes a cut for the sideline, my DB gets left behind. When my WR does the same, 8 of 10 times the CPU is with him stride for stride.
The game looks better, and the running game plays better. I like the OL/DL on pass plays.
I play 8-10 minute quarters, running the ball, short passes, 5 minute scoring drives. I can't get my feel for the game with 3 minute quarters.
I'm all about Dynasty. I hope the RPG Coach feature doesn't unbalance the game.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I think a few of you are getting way too bent out of shape, way too early, over the demo. We all know from past history, the final release NEVER plays like the demo. We have no idea how early of a build this is.
Let the slider guys work their magic when the game releases. Only then will we know what type of game this is, under the hood.
As for the DB glitch in 13, I honestly can't say I've seen it. I am having lots of fun with NCAA 13Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I've had about 50 games played on Heisman since the demo came out and I have yet to see the DB glitch. I know what it is, but I just haven't seen it happen yet, out of about 50 games. I'm clueless on how most people are seeing all these bugs come out the woodworks with the demo, but I have yet to see any of it, besides this one play where the QB did some weird hover in mid dive. Other than that I've seen nothing that made me scratch my head.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Since I own both the 360 and PS3 I noticed each system has different fake names for players. Example Michigan QB Devin Gardner name is Marcus Barnes on 360 and Tony Moody on the PS3.Fav teams:
MLB: Tigers NFL: Lions NCAA: Michigan/WVUComment

You will get completely different names for each player each time you play a game.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
why would I give EA my money by buying the retail version if the demo is so glitchy and unfun for me? Sorry, I no longer just buy games just to have them. I base a lot of my opinions off a game's demo and decide if I like the way it plays and if it will be worth buying. I'm not buying this, well its a demo, wait for the retail version crap. This isn't my 1st experience with NCAA Football. I have a good understanding of what the retail version will be based on the demo.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I'm enjoying the demo a lot more than I thought I would.
The foot planting, the running game, the option game and the colors just seem crisp.
The honeymoon phase isn't over for me, sounds like it's over for some of you after each time you play the demo.
If that's happening, delete from game system and wait till release day and after to find out if the game keeps disappointing.
To each their own.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I haven't had to try to look for errors & glitches, they keep popping up at an enormous rate. And i've never been one of those people who look for specific glitches. Other than the demo glitch thread I started (because of how many glitches I was noticing), I pretty much never jump into the glitch thread.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
DB glitch is definitely in the demo. But we've had reports from E3 that it isn't. I think the demo is just an earlier build. White uniforms getting dirty is also absent in the demo, but guys at E3 posted a screen showing they do, and so did EA. I'm not worried yet.Comment

I don't know about you guys but I can not stand fake names. Just irritates me, I would rather have just the #'s
Like when you know the name of said player but see his name as farmer brown its just dumb lol. I can see why EA did it though and I know it can be turned offComment
