Yes it's a PS3 issue. There's considerable lag all around with the play call screen. It's just magnified in no huddle situations. There's just a lot of lag and frame rate issues in general on the PS3 compared to the 360. That's what you get when the game is ported from another console.

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
This is a problem, people talking about its like to that to simulate a real no-huddle, no it is not.
1. You can't call audible until you pick a play, so that's out of the window.
2. Screen comes up maybe a second or two before the ball is snapped.
3. If you switch from a zone to man or vice verse, the players are out of position.
4. Screen sometimes come up in the middle of play.
5. Essentially eliminating the defense from the game, judging from some of the threads it probably won't matter anyway but I would like to try.Comment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
I've had a problem with this on both sides of the ball. It's just stunning that this is in here at launch. I don't get how EA can let an issue as obvious and potentially game ruining glitch in. Hopefully they can patch this!Comment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
I like it, to me it simulates defending/running the no huddle. On offense you typically dont hear the call until your lined up. On defense you typically run a base with specific assignments from game planning.
I know most of you will disagree, but I love it and I'm on ps3. No I'm not a fanboy I skipped last years game. I honestly do think it was done this way on purpose. I could be wrong, but thats just my opinionRather than complain about life, take responsibility and do something about it..Comment

It's not done that way on 360. It pops up just as it should. This is a PS3 problem.
Rest assured, the cpu when on defense when you run the no huddle will have time to pick their play.
Also, your theory does not account for the CPU snapping the ball and your playcall screen is way late popping up during the play and now you can't see whats going on, nor can you control ur player.
Just another example of PS3 getting the shaftComment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
Well here is extra to the PS3 No-Huddle glitch. ANOTHER GLITCH on top of this glitch!
Playing some nerd online who I catch in a bad defense, so I went no-huddle. This in the 1st quarter. He calls timeout. The play skips framerate, and freezes, causing me to have to take a 5 yard penalty. I was heated. But I didn't think anymore of it until...
3rd quarter, he consistently runs no-huddle all game, and I finally get sick of it and call a timeout. BAM! He has to take a penalty! So now I'm noticing it along with him yelling racist slurs at me over the mic all of a sudden, as well as he forgets the fact HE got me a penalty early in the game. So now since I get called racist names, I tell him if you run no huddle again you're getting a penalty.
Sure enough he does it, and I use BOTH timeouts and he gets a penalty, one of which he end up throwing a int for a TD the following play. So now we're in the 4th, and he calls a timeout on me as I'm driving and caught him in a bad defense again. But I pause the game in hopes it counters the glitch, but instead it freezes the game at the pause menu screen!
So you have 6 timeouts to stop no-huddles and force a 5 yard penalty and if they use it on you, pause the game and it freezes BOTH of you out. Unreal."The Mind is a terrible thing to waste"Comment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
It's not about if it is the case, it IS the case. I just explained it to you. PS3 when someone is running the silly no huddle every play, as soon as the play ends and they are about to run up to the line instantly call timeout, the screen jumps, and they HAVE to take a 5 yard penalty as it freezes them out of choosing a play. If you pause the screen before they get to the line, it freezes at the pause screen menu.
So basically each player has six 5 yard penalties to enforce during the game on the other."The Mind is a terrible thing to waste"Comment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
i just find it impossible to believe that these guys at EA don't know this stuff exists weeks before the game goes live and at least have a patch ready day one to fix this.
You don't have to go very deep to see this no huddle issues/grey facemask. Not to mention they existed in the demo as well.Comment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
I think this the same thing as in this thread. I was leading by 10 with about 3 mins left so the CPU went no huddle. When they got to the line the ball was snapped immediately, and I didn't get get to call a defensive play. Then the play selection box randomly popped up while the ball was in the air. After that happened everything in the game was slow as could be. Even in no hurry up offense by the CPU or when I got back on offense it just stuttered and ran in slow motion. It kinda took the fun out of beating the #5 team in the country. I saved and turned it off after I exited the game. Hoping it was just a glitch and isn't permanent. Does this happen a lot?Go Bearcats!Comment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
Is anyone having custom offensive playbook issues? Mine glitches up so no-huddle doesnt work and I can't even use the formation i just ended the play with. Who do I talk to to get this problem fixed?Comment

Re: Issues With Lag When Calling Defensive Plays Versus CPU No Huddle
No one has mentioned the fact that you also can't switch defenders or even move the selected player before the play call dialog box pops up. So if you started the previous play as a S or CB and the formation changes, you have a key defender guarding no one.
I have found that if the other team is running no huddle, pausing for about 10 seconds then resuming brings up the play call box about 50% of the time.Comment
