With work starting back up Monday (I'm a teacher and coach) I decided to spend all day today finishing my regular season on my REAL dynasty. Will try and simulate the next bracket before bed and one more tomorrow around getting some work done.

Haven't seen this thread until now, I've always thought this would be really cool like march madness in basketball. The only difference is while reading I almost picked 100% of the matchups correct unlike my actual march madness bracket

Although it looks like our badgers are gonna be screwed against Alabama.

Big Ten and SEC lose first team (SEC due to two teams facing each other), CUSA continues to struggle, Independent's pick up first win, 2 upsets and a couple of first half scares highlight bracket 2:

#66 Navy def. #63 Syracuse 30-24 in OT
---Syracuse tied the game :11 into the 4th quarter and neither team could do anything else in regulation.
---Cuse had the ball first and threw an INT that was almost returned for a TD.
000Navy scored to win.

---USC up 21-3 after one quarter
---Final 3 quarters played even
---Big Tens first loss

Yeah talk about a crappy draw...was hoping to avoid one of the top teams until the final 8, but you never know what is going to happen...there have been several upsets.

Havent done it yet.

When you set it up Bracket 1, 8, 4, 5 end up together and 2, 7, 3, 6 end up together because when you get to the final 8 it will be

1 v. 8
4 v. 5

2 v. 7
3 v. 6

And then the winners of those brackets face off.

So I started with the the top half of the 8 brackets and just started the lower half.

Bracket 3 will be next then 7 then 6.

No sorry I didnt have time to scan it to myself, if I think about it I will try and get it up after I get round 1 done.

Also just a little FYI but the rest of round 1 is going to take a bit longer unfortunately as school starts back up tomorrow and I also coach so I will be gone until late at night and wont have much time to sim stuff, but the district I work in only has a 4 day week (longer school days) so next weekend I will get the first round done for sure and maybe start on the 2nd round. I will not flake on doing this it just might take a little longer for the next round.

another idea could be like an fa cup style knockout tournament with an open draw all the way through so alabama could play oregon in first round

Have you thought about doing a Loser's bracket for double elimination?

I know... I know... trying to take up even more of your time... lol

Thought about it but the site I used for brackets doesnt have doubel elim for that many teams and that would take WAY too long.

Because this way was way easier and made the most sense and I dont follow or like soccer so I have no idea that a knockout tournament looks like.

---Duke scored Game winning TD at 2:13 in the 4th

Brackets 3 and 6 first rounds will be up later this week and then its time for the round of 64.

So far there has been at least one upset every first round bracket, with the MAC accounting for 3 upsets so far.
