Anyone want to be apart of my playoff committee?

So I need some help picking the teams to be in my 4 team playoff. Below I will list info for the top 8 teams as of now. After looking at the info you guys can rank the teams in order from 1-8.

    Team A:
    - Power 5 Conference Champ (No Conference Championship game)
    - Beat Conference runner-up aka Team F
    - 11-0 record
    - 1-0 vs Top 25

    Team B:
    - Power 5 team
    - Not a Power 5 Champ
    - Lost in conference match to Team E
    - 1-1 vs Top 25
    - 10-2 record

    Team C:
    - Power 5 Conference Champ
    - Beat Conference runner-up by 19
    - Lost to in conference opponent Team G
    - 11-1 record
    - 3-1 vs Top 25

    Team D:
    - Not in a conference
    - Beat mid-tier conference champ
    - 11-1 record
    - 1-1 vs Top 25

    Team E:
    - Power 5 Conference Champ
    - Beat Team B
    - 11-2 record
    - 5-0 vs Top 25

    Team F:
    - Power 5 Conference runner-up (didn't have a Conference Championship game)
    - Lost to Team A
    - 11-1 record
    - 1-1 vs Top 25
    - Beat a Power 5 Conference Champ

    Team G:
    - Power 5 team
    -Didn't play in Conference Championship
    - Beat the Conference Champ Team C
    - 10-2 record
    - 1-1 vs Top 25

    Team H:
    - Power 5 Conference Champ
    - Lost to Team F
    - 9-4 record
    - 2-2 vs Top 25

    ANOTHER NOTE:

    - Team B and Team D both beat a team with ease while Team E lost to that team (the team was 7-5)

Lost to 2 decent teams. I'm not going to list the loss unless if it's too a good team.

        The Four teams I would have in: A, E, C, F

        The Best of the rest: G, B, D, H

In order left to right with left being better.

            1) Team A: (undefeated power 5 conference champ. DUH!)
            2) Team C: (power 5 champ, 11-1, 4 top 25 opponents)
            3) Team E: (power 5 champ, 11-2, undefeated against top 25)
            4) Team F: (11-1 w/ only loss to #1 team)
            5) Team G: (10-2 power 5 team with a good win over #2 team)
6A) Team D: (get in a real conference or at least schedule some top 25 teams. Couldn't decide between Teams B and D)
6B) Team B: (Nothing terribly impressive. Couldn't decide between Teams B and D)
            8) Team H: (I can't believe a 9-4 team is even in consideration)

Pretty open ended but I would roll with a c d f. I leave e out while they were undefeated in top 25 play that means they lost two games to teams not in the top 25. Hard to decipher several from each other took me a lot longer than I originally thought it would when I first saw the thread. Good stuff.

              1. A
              2. C
              3. F
              4. D
              5. E
              6. B
              7. H

Reason for a 9-4 team being in there is because every other ranked team has 3 or 4 losses. Also teams B and D had teams that were ranked on their schedules, but they fell out of the rankings after being upset in the last 2 weeks. This year was easily the most interesting out of any season I've played in NCAA Football 14.

Not to hijack your thread, but I LOVE my 8 team playoff setup.
                  • All power 5 conferences have a CCG
                  • All power 5 CCG winners get automatic bids
                  • Highest ranked mid major team gets automatic bid (if in top 20)
                  • 2 at large bids (3 if no mid major is in top 20) go to highest ranked teams not already in, as long as no conference has more than 2 teams.
                  • 1st round is played in 4 regions, East, Midwest, South, West
                  • Semis are played in rotating years @ Rose, Orange, Sugar, Fiesta Bowls

                  I like it because:
It makes winning your conference very important.
All power 5 conferences get a bid.
Having all power 5s w/ a CCG makes those games like the sweet 16.
Mid majors get an automatic bid if deserving. They usually get beaten badly, but they'll get a 1st round win from time to time.
With 2 at large bids it means that a very good team that lost a game and can't make the CCG still has a shot.

I forgot to put something at the bottom of the first post. If it influences a change in your decision, then you can alter your rankings.

Doesn't affect mine. I know 1 guy said (I'm inferring here) that losing twice to unranked teams is more important than going 5-0 against the top 25, but IMO it's much more important going 5-0 against the top 25. Most teams don't even play 5 top 25 teams (I don't think any of your other 8 teams even played half that many), yet these guys beat 5 of them. I'm perfectly willing to forgive them a couple of bad losses for those 5 good wins, especially since they'll play nothing but top 25 teams in the playoff.

Re: Anyone want to be apart of my playoff committee?

                        I wouldgo with teams A,C,D,F.
                        1. team A
                        2. team F
                        3. team C
                        4. team D
This would be my order of the teams.
                        5. team E
                        6. team B
                        7. team G
                        8. team H
The is my best of the rest. Team E was so close to making it with a 5-0 over top 25. But i felt that team D was just a little better.

A good example would be a team like Stanford this year. They had 3 losses but the were close games and they had the toughest schedule of anyone in the country. But also a lot of teams early on in the top 25 arent that good and shouldn't really be counted as a top 25 team. SO its really on how you feel the team is stacked up against the others

I completely agree with you on this. That is why I didn't list the losses. I only put that last note just in case it would change up the order between the top 4 or change up the order of the bottom 4.

Rostermaster, when you say "vs. top 25," do you mean
"vs. teams that were in the top 25 when they played" or
"vs. teams that are currently in the top 25?"

I'm assuming it's the latter since I don't think the game gives you the former.

If this is the case, then Whitey your example doesn't apply since team E wasn't 5-0 against teams that were supposed to be good, but tanked, but instead they were 5-0 against teams that are in the top 25 at the end of the season.
