I drifted away from this site even prior to the game going away.

To me, the NCAA series seemed stuck in the mud like it's NFL brother. It never quite captured the magic that it had early in the PS2 days.

I actually wanted it to take a break for a few years just to reset. That said, I didn't want the break to last a decade.

I've been on this board more in the last few weeks than I have in the last 10 years.

Too bad some of the other old boards didn't make it, especially Maddenmania.

It was a different world back then, though.

Yeah it's always been Tarheelphenom. I think I remember the HeelFan username, but don't remember who it was

I can only speak for myself, but I am 45 years old, and I have been playing this game since Bill Walsh's days. I have been playing this game since before the birth of my son, and he was brought into this game, so this release is huge.

Agreed. I just lurk around the past few years but I’m more active now since college football is coming back. It’s like a Family reunion out here.

I will be 50 in September. I have been playing since NCAA '98. I purchased a PSOne well after the PS2 was out. I saw some kids I was keeping one summer play NCAA 2004. I saw the graphics and play by play commentary. Not the monotone "first down" or "interception". Man, I was hooked. I had to save my money to purchase a PS2 and NCAA 2003. Been playing ever since. I just bought my PS5 last week.

I've been playing since NCAA 03 and can not wait to have the game back! I have my reservations as EA is a terrible company, but it truly looks like they put in some amazing effort to make this game special. I love that the game speed is going to be 30% faster than Madden, it's much needed.

See, EA Sports needs to realize they have OG's of this series. I wish they would offer some rewards program

NCAA 2003 for me as well. OG XBOX.
Was the first video game I bought with my own money and I played the crap out of that game. The Harrington cover art is forever burned in my brain as a core life memory.

Still remember the years of mailing memory cards for rosters.. then eventually downloading them online and transferring..

Couldn’t be more excited for this game.
It’s embarrassing how many times each day I check these forums, as well as a handful of influencers and accounts on Twitter that I follow exclusively for this game.

Re: The excitement in these forums are at an all time high

I was in 7th grade living in Huntington, West Virginia. It was the summer of 1997 and our Marshall Thundering Herd had just gone 15-0 and won the FCS natty with Randy Moss. He was back, and the Herd was moving up to FBS.

My dad took me to Toys R Us to look at some games. They had a PS1 set up with NCAA 98. We read in the local paper that Marshall was in the game, but we didn’t know much else.

No one else was playing it, so I fired up an Exhibition (play now) game. I picked Boise State as my opponent because they were the worst team in the game haha. I picked my Herd as the home team.

When it loaded, I was absolutely awestruck that they had our home stadium in the game! Our little town’s stadium was in a video game!! Back then they didn’t have commentators, just a PA announcer. He opened with “Welcome to Huntington West Virginia for today’s game between the Boise State Broncos and the Marshall Thundering Herd.” I was hooked forever.

I had to save some serious money for my first PS2, and I was an old guy then. Wife stayed at home with kids, family stuff, etc. I will say I purchased NCAA '03 off eBay ('04 was the current game) before I even purchased my PS2.

I haven’t been this excited for a sports game since Madden came to PC in 2018 (and that game sucked unfortunately). I know this game isn’t coming to PC which definitely hurt, but planning on moving my Xbox to connect to it so I can easily play all day.

My brand-new Xbox X arrived today!

Purchased solely for the college game. Can't believe I bought a pricey box just for one game, but there it is.

                                Bring it on.
