I don't see the questions that should be asked concerning these ratings: Why is this going to matter? What's coded into the game that we are going to have to overcome? Is this going to be like EA PGA Tour, where if I win there, I get the reward cube, it's XP points, etc. ?
Bruh, it's just a ranking. You aren't going to get rewards for beating LSU on the road or anything. What a ridiculous concept.

It just represents how hard it is to play at certain places. They brought it back from the old games because people really enjoyed it.

The higher your home stadium is ranked on the list, the more it will affect the opposing team's performance (especially their young players who might not be as composed). But really, it's mostly just a point of pride thing. Pride in either the fact that your school has one of the best home field advantages in the game, or the fact that you just won in one of the toughest environments in the game.

Thank you. That composure mention is the only thing I did find and read a while back. I've found nothing else.

EA PGA Tour gives you XP for when you win the masters, for example. Winning gets you points and even gear per each course, especially the more prestigious ones. I didn't know if it's been explained why these rankings matter, to the degree of XP, gear or even helping you as a coach get a next, better job, or could it help you sign a next, better class of kids? I feel that with all they've had to put into the game, just doing stadium toughness ratings for the fun of it wouldn't have been on the list of making good use of time.

Exactly how much time do you think was "wasted" by having the art team make a little graphic that says "#1 Toughest" or "#19 Toughest".

And PGA gives you XP for EVERYTHING, not just winning.

They had the toughest stadium ranking before, I don't expect it to be too much different from the way we had before.

The ranking debuted in the god awful NCAA 2005. That one, too, was a little questionable. But, not as questionable as the latest list.

Ea wanted to get people talking and clicking, though. Mission accomplished.

NCAA 2005's toughest places to play:

              Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Florida
              Neyland Stadium, Tennessee
              Ohio Stadium, Ohio State
              Tiger Stadium, Louisiana State
              Autzen Stadium, Oregon
              Husky Stadium, Washington
              Kyle Field, Texas A&M
              Camp Randall Stadium, Wisconsin
              Memorial Stadium, Nebraska
              Sanford Stadium, Georgia
              Kinnick Stadium, Iowa
              Michigan Stadium, Michigan
              Lane Stadium, Virginia Tech
              Doak Campbell Stadium, Florida State

From what I can glean, you don't get anything tangible by playing and winning in one of these "tough" stadiums. It's merely a presentation/atmosphere thing.

Bryant-Denny was the one that puzzled me back then. Bama was in the wilderness most years between '97 and '06. Top 25? I think not.
