What good is numbers if they are assigning names that don't make since to the player ethnic group?

A guy can be named Hakeem Jackson wearing #17 but his ethnic color is white

Are you going to change his number or his name 1st to match his ethnic group?

I want to be able to change numbers, 100%.

Also, if EA's talking about "we can't allow number changes because our lawyers said we can be sued for an Ed O'Bannon situation," then their lawyers are morons and simply don't understand this aspect.

Let's say I'm playing as Michigan and I recruit a CB that's a really good Freshman with excellent attributes and he's assigned #2.

Well, I could say "Wow. He's really good and I'm going to change his height, weight, equipment and then his name to Charles Woodson. Cool! Now I got Charles Woodson in the game!"

EA isn't avoiding anything with the number change BS and are literally opening up issues with the ability to change height, weight, and name for what I outlined above.

Just my opinion on it.

Exactly what I'm saying! The chances of this happening are infinitely higher than happening to get a recruit named Charles Woodson and changing him to number 2. Funny thing about all this is, they'll probably see this and take away the ability to change names too [emoji23]

Who says you'll be able to change his name to Charles Woodson, they could have blocks in place.

Could have a block in place, might not. If that was the case, then they'd allow rosters, numbers, ratings to be modified if they had a huge list of names on the "block list."

For me, it's about the numbers. I think we all agree that those numbers signal who "the guys" are on the team and it's a great feeling landing a major athlete and gifting him one of those single numbers.

I also do believe that we're in for journey of patches and quality of life fixes with this initial release. Some may come day 1, others may come mid-season. I expected there would be some things that would later be introduced. Scott OG mentioned that they would soon include a patch that would aid in the wear & tear system, where a player could (for example) put on an ankle brace and heal faster.

I almost bet we'll see a lot more calibration going into the season opener, beyond just player ratings etc. I'm also naive enough to believe they already know these concerns we have. My suggestion, enjoy the release day and experience the newness. I'll most likely be working on game sliders before doing a full on dynasty.

Can’t really think of an example, but we all know what it is.

If the names of the generic recruits match somewhat with what is believable then I’ll be happy.

It doesn’t have to be perfect, I guess if there is such a thing.. But I don’t want to see half the recruits with an Asian or Russian last name assigned to a Jacoby or a DeMarcus. Like I said it doesn’t have to be perfect. I can make some exceptions lol. But seriously it’s numbers easily.

Wouldn't be possible on Xbox. You can transfer your save data to another (Xbox) console, and you can transfer it to the cloud and then to your PC only if you own the PC version of the game. So for example if you wanted to edit players in Madden and it wasn't allowed for some reason, you could cloud transfer it to your PC to "play" with that roster/franchise, and then theoretically you could extract it and edit it if there were a tool. You would then have to transfer it back to your Xbox through the cloud.

Since CFB 25 will not have a PC version, this will not be possible. You cannot transfer Xbox save games to a backup drive, flash drive, or to your PC. Not sure if that's possible on Playstation, I feel like I read that it is but not sure. If so, then theoretically someone could make a tool that could edit roster/dynasty files, then transfer it back to your PS5. You'd have to talk to the people who actually make those editors though, as well as people who actually own or know about transferring to and from PS5.

No disrespect to the OP but this poll thread needs to make its way to the 2nd page and beyond. We shouldn’t have to trade being able to rename auto generated players to being able to put any number we want on an auto generated player. Both options should be available as well as editing ratings which has no business being locked if indeed ratings are locked.
