    CPU run game

I posted this in canes slider thread, but I’ll offer this question up generally:

Is anyone having any luck getting running backs to run downhill..or forward for that matter? The back seem to want to bounce every single run outside, including the bruisers and north-south guys. The 2-3 yard inside runs turn into 2-3 yard losses when the back stretches it out or worse, runs around their outside blocker.

it’s the biggest problem with CPU offense IMO. Followed by QBs holding the ball or dumping it off.

Yeah, we're aware of it, but it's been difficult to permanently mitigate. Certain things like turning down the holding slider will fix it for a game, but it'll revert the next week. Just hoping they patch it at some point because I've seen the CPU do some absolutely amazing inside running when the pathfinding is working.

EDIT: I've been not even trying for a week or so now because I'm just playing my dynasty as an offensive coordinator, so it's not really a problem for me right now, so if anything's changed, I wouldn't know it.

I feel like I’m getting a running after the latest patch. I’ve never had a team let alone a player fun for more than 45 yds against me, but after the update yesterday the Illinois RB had 90 yds on 10 carries at halftime against me.

Not that set, but since this post I’m having good results with Playmakers concept of lowering the HUM Tackling slider to at or near zero. YMMV. There’s a post in this sub forum.

I started my Purdue dynasty with a created HC. Started 2-0 beating Ball State easily, and BARELY beat FCS Midwest due to their up tempo offense. I played at ND next and with current slider setup I have going Jeremiyah Love was close to 200yds rushing and was subbed out entirely for the 4th quarter in the 52-3 blowout. This is AA difficulty. Cpu run blocking at 100, fumble slider at 30, and user tackling at 20.

Edit: I user one of the LBS mostly, and do not switch on defense. Not switching helps allow for more big runs because if I switch over I can tackle before they break free for major yards. Not switching also allows for more broken tackles.

I do the same for the most part. I allow myself to switch once one of my teammates makes a tackle attempt passed the LOS. I usually end up whiffing in the open field anyways lol

Did you ever post your sliders? I am having zero fun, nothing I try gets this game to even remotely replicate real life. I am currently using a "hard" Varsity set and the running game for both teams is like Heisman difficulty. Not to mention pass block. If I have to see multiple D-lineman simultaneously perform the same shed animation and sprint to my QB like Usain Bolt, I may just have not play anymore lol.

I have the same problem. No matter which team I use, all games finish with negative CPU rushing yards with a very low numbers of run plays and most of them are inside runs with 0 blocks

You don't have to stick with these settings after one game. But I can assure you on any level if set the CPU Run Block to 85, Ball Security to 60 & User Tackle 5 that is going to jump start their run game in the right direction.

You can then adjust the tackle slider to your liking after you play with that setup. Trying to play with tackle at 30 or 40 isn't making much òf an impact and I can pretty much guarantee you most of the people still experiencing this issue with the CPU run game is because they are either unwilling to go lower or hell bent or trying to stick with the parameters of a particular set they enjoy. Sometimes you have to adjust to what actually benefits the CPÙ and if that requires a setting out of the norm then so be it.

Their running game this year in order to sustain any çonsistency needs to be pampered.

I definitely think forcing yourself to not switch makes it better. Not every game but more than normal. I just wish there was a way to player lock but not until after the snap.

Though what I’ve been doing is no switch in runs and switch on passes. With my tackling at 0 receivers get a lot of big plays if I’m not there to clean up. Even with switching. It’s worse in Madden. More big plays because one on one guys can’t make tackles.

I’d rather broken tackles than 14 sacks and no running game though. Seems to be there are tons of broken tackles in real like in College and Pro
