Re: How is your dynasty going
I was thinking I should use jet sweeps more. Maybe I could add under center fly sweeps as well.
It's like, I want to be multiple and spread but not 'pro style,' though I think that might mean something different now than it did six years ago.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Won the Rose Bowl big over Ohio State. My offensive coordinator Paul Petrino got hired away and now Rich Rodriguez is my offensive coordinator. Defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast also got hired away.
I feel like I've sufficiently punished myself for over-signing; had to cut ten people. These included my #1 MLB, RT, LT, RG... My new #1 CB who had been my ace returner and nickel back (90 ovr, 95 speed). My starting FS who id moved to WS (playing 4-2-5/3-3-5 this year). My new #1 RB (I will now be starting a 79 ovr freshman). My new #1 QB (83; 88)... My top two WRs... I'm not happy. Won't be oversigning again. Lol
My starting QB is 78 speed with a 91 arm and 86 accuracy. QB2 has 83 speed. QB3 has 81 speed.
I've got two FBs and two TEs over 80 overall. Three other TEs between 78 and 79. Top three WRs are 87, 86, 79. So we're gonna base probably out of 12/21 but from pistol and gun. Still gonna use 13 and 11 but #4 WR is 72 overall so I won't be using 10 personnel.Last edited by nofx94; 11-17-2019, 11:48 AM.Comment

Mostly just the option and inside zone with buck sweeps mixed in. I switch up what I run often but wait until after the year to switch always.

Re: How is your dynasty going
Well I’m mad right now. We lost to Texas, not the end of the world. It was a 66-42 game which was closer than the score shows.
Ever since this game the season has been a disaster. My OL can’t hold a block at all which has led to back to back 3 point wins over UCONN and Nebraska, and back to back OT losses to Missouri and TCU. I can’t get the run game going at all and if a WR doesn’t get open immediately it’s a sack. Its even worse because my star QB Michael Cummings got hurt against Missouri in OT and is out for the season leaving me with his 66 speed backup. Heavily considering burning the redshirt of my 5 star freshman but at 5-3 it seems like a waste as I’m only playing for a bowl game. His backup, Mikal Robinson did play good in his first start setting the school record for passing yards, but had 6 turnovers.
I’m considering benching the interior of the OL although it won’t help.
Year 4 was pretty much the same season, yet felt much more successful. Went 10-4 losing to Texas in the Big 12 CCG but beating Georgia Tech in the Cotton Bowl 65-24. Redshirt freshman QB and former 5* ATH Julian Johnson won the Heisman by a wide margin while leading a historic offense that was number 1 in every major category. Other than a 18 point loss to Arkansas, the other 3 losses came by a combined 11 points including a 7 point loss in OT.
Johnson holds the school records for completions, passing yards, and TDs in a season and ended with 70 total TDs (11 coming in the CCG and Bowl game). Junior WR Ryan Jude also holds the records for receiving TDs in a career now at 36, compiling 30 in the last two seasons with a mix of a being a RZ threat and a big play threat.
Alabama beat Houston 42-28 in the NCG in a surprisingly even game.
I’m going to look for a HC job this year out of my select list. Statistically I feel i might need to tweak sliders but gameplay already presents a good challenge so I’m unsure. I also suck on defense so I think I’ll leave things for now and test it one season as a HC.
Edit: took the HC job at Washington State and was promptly replaced Art Briles (yikes) who was fired after a 3-9 season. I wanted the Baylor HC job but was passed over so I think this is pretty ironic.
Additionally Lincoln Riley was fired by Purdue and hired by UMASS who has 3 0-12 seasons since 2013. If anyone can turn them around, it’s gonna be him.Last edited by osubucki6; 11-17-2019, 03:33 PM.NCAA-Ohio State

Re: How is your dynasty going
My buddy and I started an online dynasty together and he was the OC at Buffalo while I was the OC at San Jose State. We both had a solid first two seasons and he became the OC at Michigan in Year 3 while I became the OC at Virginia the same year. We like to only play 3 games per year and let the OVR of our teams matter more and sim the rest.
Starting Year 4 in 2016, he decided to take a challenging HC job at Western Michigan and I chose to become the new HC at ECU, who was coming off a 1-11 season where Lincoln Riley had just been fired. LOL. Anyway, the 2016 season went well above expectations and I led ECU to a 7-6 record with a demoralizing loss to Bowling Green in the Idaho Potato Bowl, while Western Michigan lost to Cincinnati in their Bowl Game, can't remember which game.
2017 is an extremely slow start for both teams. Western Michigan started off 0-5 before winning their game against UMass, and ECU is now 1-5 with no wins since a Week 2 victory over FCS East. Both teams lost a lot of senior leadership and now have to rely on the younger guys and while they're showing promise it hasn't led to the best of results. Just have to keep trusting the process.
ECU has lost to NC State, Southern Miss, #10 Virginia Tech, Tulsa, and Temple with no games being even close. Southern Miss and Tulsa, really?! LOLComment

Re: How is your dynasty going
year 6 with Tx State and started year 7-0 playing The Warhawks of UL Monroe. This is the last team we play with a winning record on the year. We are in a back and forth battle in which we were down 44-41 with 1:04 left on the clock when we got the ball back after our defense failed to get a stop. Drive down the field and get set up with a 1st down at their 12 with around 21 seconds left no timeouts remaining. Run a slant with my slot receiver and they get pressure on my QB so I roll out my slot guy is open back of the endzone fire the ball in there and MLB makes a diving pick to end our shot at a perfect season.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Game 1 at WSU was versus number 2 UCLA. It was a 46-42 shootout where I came up just short throwing 2 late INTs on a screen and a horrible missed throw. If they wanted something different from Mike Leach they’re not getting it. I ran for 6 yards on 20 attempts and gave up 498 total yards. I don’t know what to do because it’s impossible to play defense on these sliders for me. CPU doesn’t make bad reads, has a semi-truck wide hole to run through, and doesn’t fumble. I understand my defense isn’t good but this always happens and it’s annoying. I’m going to finish the year with 0 turnovers and it’s a killer. Any defensive tips or anything to help get some non-robotic play from the CPU?
I should clarify. All I want is to finish the year with double digit takeaways. As of now I see myself maybe getting 5 at most.Last edited by osubucki6; 11-18-2019, 08:38 PM.NCAA-Ohio State

UPSET OF THE WEEK
COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEKLY
So, after drilling Memphis 35-14, and those 14 points came in the 4th quarter on mop up duty, the FSU Seminoles lost at Cincinnati. FSU QB Quantarius Ginn has thrown 6 interceptions in 2 games. The Noles were favored by 27 points and lost to the tune of 35-31. That is including Cincinnati QB Daniel Brown being picked off 5 times. How do you have 5 picks and still win? Well, he also passed for 244 yards on 17 of 28. “We mainly forgot the game of football has 4 quarters,” exclaimed FSU coach Russel Stover. Bearcats RB Devin Howell rushed for 150 yards on 23 carries. The Bearcats defense was awesome also. They 11 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 2 interceptions. FSU QB Ginn was 12 of 17 for 143 yards with 2 TDs and 2 picks. Tied at 7 at the end of the first quarter, the second quarter saw fireworks, with FSUscoring 2 TDs within the last minute and a half. Cincy outscored the Noles 21-10 in the second half for the 35-31 upset. This knocked the #12 Noles out of the top 25.Comment

Alaska just won their first national title in their 8th season. They came off a record 9-win season and followed it up with a 13-1 season. They are independent but will likely join the PAC 12 after this coming season. Their lone loss was a 3-point loss at a ranked Tennessee. They beat the Big 10 runner up Michigan at Michigan, the MWC winner Boise State. They upset #4 Nebraska before Nebraska fell apart. In the playoffs they beat #1 Notre Dame by two touchdowns and then beat #2 Alabama after a wild fourth quarter.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
So my new USC Trojans aren't doing any BLUR/HUNH type stuff. Could be fun to no huddle and then run clock, though. Eliminate defensive subs and still burn time.
We'll see how the playstyle evolves, but #2 USC beat #18 Army 49-21 running an offense inspired by KState, Mississippi State, and Minnesota, with a lot of option and QB running as the focus. Army's third TD came in the fourth quarter.
I rotated three quarterbacks in the first half - 82 ovr sophomore (78 speed, 91 thp, 86 tha), 80 ovr rsjr (83 speed, 79 thp, 83 tha), 79 ovr freshman (81 speed, 85? Thp, 77? Tha). The freshman got knocked out of the game, so in the fourth quarter I played the fourth string guy and ended the game with a 33-yd pass.
So QB1 threw two touchdowns and ran for one. QB2 threw one and ran for one. FR RB1 (79 overall) ran for one. And we had a pick six.
I fumbled on a speed option on QB2s second drive for -24 yards and he still had almost 100 yards on like 6 carries.
We're running mostly 12 personnel with some 21 and 20. Did some triple from the pistol and offset. A lot of designed QB runs and some Z/R.
Only 14 recruits for 12 spots. Not oversigning this year. I'm still bummed that my top prospect from my first class had to get cut.
Also I had this really good athlete who was WR#4 last year and I was gonna move him to TB this year but he transferred away because Petrino left. Smh. Lol
One reason I've not been planning on running a lot of 4-wide stuff is because my #4WR is only a 72 overall this year. He happened to catch two touchdowns in week one lol
My favorite TD pass was on a post play from gun twin TE slot. TE#2 was open in the flats, caught the pass, she TE#1 came back off his do route to make a block. We had almost 300 passing yards on less than 20 attempts. Might've been less than 15.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEKLY
FSU: WE HAVE A PROBLEM
Reporter 1: Coach Stover, what do you feel was the main reason for today’s loss at UConn?
Coach S.: Main reason? Do you reporters have time for a list? First, we have to remember a football game last 4 quarters and 60 minutes. We played like the first game of the season. Our offense is fine, but as you can see the defense needs work.
Reporter 2: Which stats for either team sticks out to you the most?
Coach S.: We are up 14-0 with two quick offensive drive. At the half, it is 14-3. Then the bottom fell out. UConn QB Ryan Lewis threw two picks early on. Then, he turned into Superman. 26 of 40 for 328 yards and 3 TDs. We could not cover their two main targets. Schroeder and Stevenson caught a combined 22 catches for 268 yards.
Reporter 3: Coach, how did you feel about your offense?
Coach S.: We were okay when they weren’t in our backfield. I mean 9 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks, and 1 interception. How did we even get 21 points, 10 first downs, and 234 yards of offense?
Reporter 1: Considering your team was up 21-14 going into the 4th quarter, what kind of breakdowns did you see?
Coach S.: Considering they scored more points in the 4th quarter than they did the entire game just puts a bad taste in your mouth. Our rushing game wasn’t there today. Quantarius was 14 of 19 for 189 yards and 2 TDs and only one pick. To lose 29-21, and we are 1-2 (1-2) in conference play, we have some work to do for the next game vs Temple.Last edited by Collegefbfan; 11-21-2019, 01:01 AM.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
I didn't post on my 6th season with Louisville because after first game, I knew it would be a dominant season. We literally ran through the season. My main goals were to be a run heavy team and cut down on turnovers. First 3 years I had 20+ INTs. I only passed the ball 15-20 times a game and most games I had only 200 yards. I ended with 15 INTs. But ony really count 10 true INTs. After the first 3 years of being a reckless gunslinger, I played like a game manager. I relied heavily on run game while just mainly passing when I felt I needed too. I had three thousand yard rushers, including my QB Smith. My QB had his most efficient year with career low attempts. Had a QB rating over 170 and Completion at 70, and under 10 sacks. I got the ball out quick and limited bad decisions. We ended up going undefeated and beating Oklahoma in Title game. We could have ended up facing either Illinois or Air Force in title game. Both teams were undefeated and ranked 2 & 3. But Both times lost in their conference champ game. While my offense was consistent and efficient, my defense was elite. We weren't getting many sacks or Turnovers(only like a couple fumbles and so many dropped INTs), but our coverage was elite. I finally was able to run more man because had more speed and cover guys in secondary. We contained the run(besides QB read options are hard to stop) and CPU is very predictable on 3rd downs.
It's going to be a different feeling not running my offense through my QB Smith and RB Young. Last 4 years, everything went through them. Smith and Young have most of the school records. The records are likely to stick because I might not have a 4 year starter again at QB or RB. The next 4 years, I can potentially can have a different starting QB each year with the way my QB depth is set up. While it is going to be different not having those guys, it does allow me to truly open up offense. While this past year, i did a good job actually spreading the ball around. First 2 years, I heavily targeted slot WR or TE, I rarely went towards outside WRs. This year, I did a better job at doing less deep routes and actually slowing down decisions. But now, I don't have to feel obligated to run or pass. Past year, I gave my 2nd RB enough carries to be get 1000 yards. Next year, I want to split carries more. Might set the RB auto sub 94/95. I want the similar approach where I'm running the ball 65%.
For my seventh season(10th total) at Louisville, I'm going to change it up to keep it fresh. I decided earlier last season that I was going to relocate to the SEC. After facing the same opponents for past several seasons, want a new challenge. SEC should be a tougher bout than ACC. While I had seasons where I faced a lot of ranked conference teams in ACC, they weren't elite teams just had good records. I swapped with Kentucky. I lost a lot of players, but had good depth behind them. My backup QB tried to declare as a RS Soph before last season, but he didn't try to declare this past year. So that really changed how I would approach playcalling. My new backup QB has elite speed and average at best passing, so would have to run a lot more. But starting QB has a similar skill to past starter. Not as good of passer as Smith, but good enough to make every throw. And slightly better open field runner. So I should be able to run my offense the same. Will have new rushing attack with top 3 rushers gone. But good power-elusive combo. Receiving corps pretty much same and improved. Secondary and Dline will continue to be strength. But will have all new LB corps and it is a big drop off from last year with the highest probably being a 85 OVR. Open field tackling might be an issue and won't really be able to have LBs in man coverage. So overall, should be a good team not as good as last year. The next season, we will see a big drop off in team talent. QB will not as good of passer, RB depth will finally tapping out this season, can potientally lose all starters on Oline. 4 are Seniors and best starter is a JR who might declare. I have no quality depth at all. I will have to recruit at least 4 OL to start as FRs. So I can have potentially 4-5 starters on Line at 80 or below. I most likely will lose all starters on Dline, and could lose at least 2 important starters in secondary. So instead of just focusing on getting 10-15 recruits past 3 years, might try to get 20-25 just so I can improve depthComment
