Re: How is your dynasty going

Thought I'd get some opinions/thoughts on my current dynasty rules. I used J-Kits and added my own twists. Thoughts are welcomed.

    Rules for Dynasty
    Current Team: Colorado Buffaloes
    Current Prestige: 4 Star
    Home State: Colorado
    Pipeline(s): CA, FL, TX // - // -
Playbook(s): OFF (S. Lewis: Colorado (Multiple)), DEF (C. Kelly: 4-3)
    New OC’s former team = N/A; Old OC’s new team = N/A
    New DC’s former team = N/A; Old DC’s new team = N/A
    1. Playbooks:
    a. Changes when OC or DC leaves/fired.
    b. Can be changed if OC or DC stays for a minimum of 2 years.
    c. Before highest prestige is reached:
    i. Can choose only from the first 3 plays on the screen for OFF and DEF (however, audibles are allowed).
ii. Can switch to any defensive player on the field after the ball is snapped.
    d. After highest prestige is reached:
    i. Can choose any play from playbooks.
ii. Not allowed to switch player on defense after ball is snapped.

    2. Game Schedule:

    b. Shall try to play former coordinators if available. The game will be HOME game unless opposing team is ranked then it can be HOME or AWAY.
    c. Must play a team from a state bordering Colorado unless said opponent is part of the conference. Can be a HOME or AWAY game depending on which team is ranked higher.

    3. Recruiting:
    a. Leaving Seniors + 2: Can only have as many players on your board as the amount of Seniors leaving plus 2. For example, if 12 seniors are leaving, can only have 14 people on your board.
    b. Visits: Can only schedule visits based on school prestige as follows:
    i. 1 Star—Can schedule up to 4 visits per season.
ii. 2 Stars—Can schedule up to 4 visits per season.
iii. 3 Stars—Can schedule up to 5 visits per season.
iv. 4 Stars—Can schedule up to 6 visits per season.
    v. 5 Stars—Can schedule up to 7 visits per season.
vi. 6 Stars—Can schedule up to 8 visits per season.
    c. Preseason Scouting: Can only scout those players that have you listed as No. 1.
    d. Scouting during the Season: You cannot scout players until AFTER they have committed to the team.
    e. Interested Recruits: You can recruit any player of any caliber that has your school listed as No. 1 on their board. You can also recruit any player of any caliber in your home state.
    f. Border state recruitment (i.e., OK, NM, AZ, UT, WY, NE, KS): Can recruit any player in any state that borders your home state whose caliber is equal to or is less than the school’s prestige.
    g. Pipeline state recruitment: Can recruit any player in any pipeline state whose caliber is equal to or less than the school’s prestige.
    h. National recruiting: Can recruit any player in any other state that has your school in their Top 5.
    i. Building new pipelines: Each season, you can choose 1 state that’s not a pipeline state to recruit up to 3 players, 3 star and under.

    4. Scholarships: Cannot offer a scholarship to a prospect until your school is in their Top 3. Can only give the amount of scholarships equal to the number listed in section 3a above.

    5. Draft Rule: If players declare for draft you cannot convince them to return BUT if they want to transfer you can convince them to stay.

    6. Cutting Players: Can only cut players if there is a need to get below the roster requirement.

    7. Player Editing Rules:
    a. 99 players get a Nike visor.

    8. Promotion/Relegation system:
    a. Shall be used EVERY FOUR YEARS for all teams based on season records prior to “bowl week”.
    b. It shall always be the top finishing team regardless of whether they win/lose conference championship.
    c. Independent teams will switch promotion positions every cycle. In order to be promoted, indy teams must be above 500 or above the percentage of the team from a conference that will be demoted.

    9. Equipment/Skill Upgrades: If a player makes “Conference Player of the Week”, they get an equipment update. If they make “National Player of the Week”, they get an equipment upgrade AND go up 1 skill point in 5 categories based on being an offense or defensive player (but not both).
    a. During Conference Championship Week and Bowl Season, the player must make “National Player of the Week” and will get an equipment upgrade AND 1 skill point in 7 categories. No points or upgrades are applied for National Championship games

Man, there a lot of these I really like. I am currently playing NCAA 13 more than 14. I was thinking of making all P5 conferences 10 teams and no conference championship game. I know I would have to move some teams. I would like to do this for all conferences, but I read somewhere that you have to have at least one conference champs game, or it glitches the game. Anyone know if this is true?

My son started this dynasty on Varsity. This was his first attempt at playing a football video game. He fell in love with it when playing the easier teams. After a 5-2 start, he spent more time online with his friends playing their games. I finally had some time this holiday week to crank the old PS3 back up and continue the dynasty on All-American. We are currently 7-2 and ranked #24 in the latest top 25. In the beginning, we beat some FCS team and a couple of G5 teams. Then, we lost to South Florida and Pitt. The Cardinals beat Cincinnati, Temple, and Syracuse pretty easily. Big East race is close. Temple is in the lead with that one loss we handed them. We have two in conference losses. See how the rest of the season shakes out.

Thanks for the quick reply. Let me ask this also. Did you like this conference set-up? The P5 ten team conferences? Did you just take out the bottom feeders of the P5 conferences and put them geographically where they would fit in the G5 conferences?

Coach Fig Newton's Louisville Cardinals are ranked #1 with a 10-0 record. The Big East Championship Game (adjusted conferences) looks like it will come down to Louisville (Big East South) vs. Rutgers (Big East North). After starting 1-2, Rutgers is sitting at 9-2. The Scarlet Knights aren't getting any love from any of the polls, not even ranked, and not even in others receiving votes. Louisville has been on an offensive tear this season. Their RB has a chance to win back to back Heismans.

Still buzzing along! Season 7, first season on Revamped and loving it. Took a bit of a hiatus so feels so fresh again now after the break.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Dove back into my Dynasty last night after a 5 month hiatus. I had completely forgotten who I was coaching for [emoji38]

Guess I was in year 4 of being head coach for Iowa State. Went through my team and got the redshirts done, recruited mainly 3 and 4 star players, and added a 5 star center for gigs.

Started off ranked at #24, then proceeded to beat 16th ranked Iowa 24-21 in a nail biter. Their defense was rated 97, and I felt every ounce of that 97. Got torched by #1 Texas 12-56, and that's where I stand.

I have all of my recruiting skills maxed, but I refuse to max out my other skills. I feel it makes the game too easy. Whenever I upgrade my coordinators, they always bolt to other programs. It's nice don't get me wrong, just sucks starting over.
