Re: SEC Magazine
TOP STORIES:
•South Carolina vs Texas A&M
-This game will have a huge impact on the SEC Title. Both teams will likely be in the top 2 on their respective sides of the SEC where 1 loss can make the difference and this game will tilt the edge. Two of the best coaches in the conference will face off in this one so it will go down to the wire. The power running game of SC will give them a favor in the turnover margin but the balance by Texas A&M will give them the big play edge.
•Arkansas looks ready
-New coach in Arkansas has the Razorbacks playing well early. The team is 3-0 and already moved into the top 15. The Razorbacks are in the tougher side of the SEC so they have their work cut out for them but the ball is rolling. This could be one of the surprise teams if they can knock of a couple of the big boys.
•Georgia fans Excited
-After an 0-2 start against 2 of the top 5 teams in the country, Georgia replaced their interim coach with a man that goes by the name of Archy. He is a perfect fit for the program and a great recruiter so the balance in the SEC West might be restored. The new coacg will get his first taste of the action against Mississippi State and we expect to see a big game and big year from Nick Chubb.

STAR WATCH
***** NOW-Guys at the top of the SEC
•SR Evan Engram (Ole Miss TE)
...this kid has NFL hands.. the Rebels throw to him early and often and there is no stopping him.. he will finish this year as the top TE prospect going into the draft
•JR David Williams (South Car RB)
...the SC offense starts with the run and ends with the run.. if the run game works they rarely pass, this guy is the reason why the run game works.. fastest back in the SEC and has great size as well.. early favorite for the Heisman
•JR Roc Thomas (Auburn RB)
...Roc is a star but plays like a blue collar back, his mindset is find the hole and fall forward, and thats what he does. He gives this offense balance and is reaping the benefits of his early playing time here
***** NEXT-Next wave of stars
• SO Nick Chubb (Georgia RB)
...Speed, Size, Experience.. in this offense he will be used like Gurley was so he will be forced to be a star.. the fact that ge's a soph is scary
• FR Stephen Thomas (South Car QB)
...very Athletic QB with a strong arm.. the Gamecocks lucked up finding this kid and they arent wasting any time, he is the QB in SC
• SO Aaron Hicks (Auburn RB)
...the #1 back from 2 years ago, Hicks is a fast powerful back who is used on any down.. the only thing keeping him from being the star right now is Roc Thomas, the Heisman candidate in front of him
***** NEW-Young future stars
• FR Kevin Wallace (Tennessee QB)
...true freshman takes over at Tennessee, has the big arm that Vols have been missing. Fits this offense perfectly and will be huge for the team if he is consistent
• FR Charles Beverly (Georgia RB)
...speedy back who redshirted last season, will be an explosive back in this offense and will be the premier back when Chubb leaves
• FR Matt Moore (Texas A&M RB)
...#1 RB from this past class, speed back who is being used already for a team who lacks depth.. he will get alot of touches in his time at A&MLast edited by JEJunior; 07-31-2015, 04:53 PM. -
Re: SEC Magazine
Toughest Conference or Overrated?
The hype that has been given to the SEC is deserving considering the conference has won the past 2 championships, one being SEC vs SEC. Midway through the season there are no undefeated teams left in the conference and every team still has their toughest game ahead of them. Is the league down or is the conference just that tough?
We think its a mix of both. The perineal powerhouse the past 2 seasons has been Missouri who may have played themselves out of a championship. Texas A&M has run the West but they still have a few tough games of their own. They are still in position to defend their conference title but they have to run the table to get there after a tough loss to Mississippi State. South Carolina looks to be the favorite right now with a Heisman RB and a young star in the making at QB, but their defense is still a question. Auburn still may have their best shot at an SEC title before their young guys really take over the team, but with 2 losses already they may not have the team they thought they had.
*SEC Stock Since the Start of the Year*
•EAST
[emoji662]️[emoji379]#6 Texas A&M =
- still expected to be around the title talk near the end of year
[emoji651]️[emoji239]#8 South Carolina ^
- running off of one great player but was not expected to lead the conference this early
[emoji651]️[emoji631]#10 Ole Miss ^
- still a surprise with such a poor defense and so many turnovers but they have found ways to win
[emoji652]️[emoji234]#14 Auburn v
- 2 losses to teams that they should have beat has the Tigers underachieving
[emoji651]️[emoji252]#15 Mississippi State ^
- with an interim coach running the show the Bulldogs are in a way better position than they should be
[emoji652]️[emoji197]#21 Missouri v
- the Tigers have raised their expectations and spoiled their fans over the last few years.. they have alot of ground to make up
[emoji651]️[emoji203]#24 Arkansas ^
- no one knew what to expect with a new coach coming in but they are in a comfortable position right now
[emoji662]️[emoji252]#25 Georgia =
- slow start before the new coach took over but we expected him to get this talented team going
[emoji652]️[emoji240]Tennessee v
- the Vols had potential to be at the top of the East for alot of reasons but they just havent got it done.. another team who's best shot was this year
[emoji652][emoji208]️Alabama v
- this fan base still expects championships every year but even the realistic fans are disappointed with this start
[emoji652][emoji246]️Florida v
- we expected Florida to struggle against the better teams but we didnt think it would take this long to get things going
***Outlook***
With the current state of the league we think it will still come down to the two big showdowns: Auburn vs Texas A&M in week 8 and Missouri vs South Carolina in week 9. The Missouri vs A&M game will catapult one team and kill the other, don't expect a rematch this year. We think the matchup will determine the winner of the SEC Championship :
•Auburn over Missouri
•A&M over Missouri
•SC over A&M
•Auburn over SC

Re: SEC Magazine
2017 SEC Season Predictions
Player of the year on offense:
SR(RS) RB David Williams of South Carolina. How can you argue with the reigning Heisman winner? Williams was a beast last year and surprisingly came back for his senior year. This kid is a beast. We see flashes of Gurley and Adrian Peterson., expect that type of year even with a target on his back.
Defensive player of the year:
SR DE Myles Garrett of Texas A&M. This may be the most disruptive defender this season. Coach Hogan knows how to get production from good defensive linemen and this kid is phenomenal. He will cause enough havoc to win the Aggies 2 or 3 big games in the clutch.
Honorable Mention
QB Bryce Ramsey GEORGIA
HB Roc Thomas AUBURN
CB Tony Brown ALABAMA
Champion:
Georgia over Texas A&M
EAST:
Georgia
South Carolina
Missouri
Tennessee
Kentucky
Florida
Vanderbilt
WEST:
Texas A&M
Auburn
Alabama
Arkansas
LSU
Mississippi State
Ole Miss

Best Offense and Defensive Units
***OFFENSE***
• Backfield
1) Georgia
2) Alabama
3) South Carolina
Brice Ramsey has the arm, enough mobility, and the surrounding cast to Heisman push. The top 3 backs at Georgia could start anywhere in the country. They all have elite size or speed, nothing average about this group.
• WRs/TEs
1) Texas A&M
2) Georgia
3) Tennessee
The A&M QBs have too many WRs to throw to. With 4 quality SRs in this group led by Speedy Noil and 3 more equally talented threats it will be impossible to key on any one WR meaning 1 on 1 matchups all day.
• OLine
1) Georgia
2) Tennessee
3) Missouri
All American LG Isaiah Wynn is the leader of this group who will all be back next year. Georgia has the strongest line in the SEC with not one senior.
***DEFENSE***
• DLine
1) Texas A&M
2) Auburn
3) Georgia
DE Myles Garrett is the best athlete in the SEC right now. Size, speed, and strength are all there. With DT Justin Manning commanding attention in the middle look for these 2 to take turns getting in the backfield.
• Linebackers
1) Auburn
2) Georgia
3) Texas A&M
Tre Williams is the most talented LB on Auburn's team but the way Jones and Kirkpatrick have looked last year and this offseason its pick your poison. These LBs will make running the ball suicide.
• Secondary
1) Georgia
2) Texas A&M
3) Auburn
Aaron Davis could have the biggest year among the Georgia Bulldogs if the teams plays like we think they will. The offense WILL put up points meaning alot of late game passing situations for the opponent and its easier to defend the pass when you know its coming. Deepest CB group with 6 studs.

OVERVIEW
We think the talent at Georgia is now where Alabama used to be. Georgia hired a new coach last year who got this team rolling and with the talent there now this team is underrated at #3. Georgia has the best team in the country, period.
With the balance of user teams at 4 and 4 this could benefit the users in the West who have had the tougher schedules over the past few years. This puts more pressure on the East who is now very balanced across the top with Tennessee finally catching up and Georgia pushing Missouri and South Carolina who have run the league.
The West will be interesting as Arkansas tries to win back to back SEC Titles. A&M who has been the most consistent is loaded this year on both sides of the ball. This is Hogans best team so far. Auburn and Bama are both capable of beating any team any week, but both teams have beat themselves the past few years.
Look for Georgia to run the SEC if they play to their potential, even with one of toughest schedules in the country. This team is stacked from top to bottom. If they can get past the early part of their schedule this could be the second National Championship in the last 4 years for Georgia.Comment

Re: SEC Magazine
2018 National Championship
#1 South Carolina 12-1 (9-1)
#2 Georgia 11-1 (8-1)
The BCS Championship Game is finally here. This is a meeting that will undoubtedly pit the 2 very best teams in the country head to head which is what every college football fan wants to see.
The first meeting between these to SEC East schools was back in week 3 when SC walked away with a 31-21 victory. The Gamecocks pounded the ball 42 times for 253 yards while only passing 10 times. This has been the recipe for this team who has the best player in college football in the backfield. The thing that makes this power style of football so successful for South Carolina is that while they may seem predictable they dont turn the ball over. The difference in the first meeting was Georgia's 2 thrown pics to SC's zero turnovers. Even tho Georgia passed for an impressive 25/30 and 312 yards the turnovers still swayed the game in SC's favor.
Nothing has changed up until now for either team. Georgia still wants to throw the ball early and often with short quick routes while South Carolina wants to pound the ball with their stud tailback. The difference this season has been the Gamecocks ability to close games on the defensive end, which hasnt been the case the past few years. One more big game and South Carolina could be looking at their first National Title. The Bulldogs have more talent and more playmakers on both sides of the ball so they will have their say in this rematch. If the momentum gets on the Georgia side this team is impossible to stop.
Look for momentum to be the deciding factor tonight. If one team can get a run or a 2 td lead early both teams are capable of closing the game.Comment

SEC Magazine
2018 SEC Season Predictions
Player of the year on offense:
SR(RS) QB Jacob Park of Georgia. The Georgia offense has evolved from a run first power school to a quick pass spread offense. This system works like clockwork with a veteran QB, a solid OLine, and great WRs. It also helps that they still have the deepest backfield in the nation so committing to the pass wont work. Jacob Park will benefit from all that he has around him.
Defensive player of the year:
SR(RS) MLB Tre Williams of Auburn. This DC is always hard to run against whether the talent is full or not, this year it just happens to be full and Williams is the heart and soul of this defense. Auburns linebacking core as a group may or may not be the most talented, but they are the most productive against the run and the pass. Williams was the Defensive player of the Year and Linebacker of the Year last season and we don't expect any drop off this season.
Honorable Mention
HB Aaron Hicks Auburn - Preseason Heisman leader and leading returning running back in the country. He can carry the ball any where from 15-35 times and will have success regardless of the amount.
QB David Cornwell ALABAMA - Defensive holes could put Bama in alot of passing situations late in games, his WRs are playmakers.
HB Joe Nicholson South Carolina - A system that has produced back to back Heismans and top 5 rushers every year we expect Nicholson to benefit from the scheme.
Champion:
Georgia over Auburn

Re: SEC Magazine
As the 2018 kicks off with 6 of the best NCAA Players around we have an interestingly simple question that would be often discussed if all 6 members were in person on a regular basis, but living in different states and cities not so much. So we at SEC Magazine have decided to take a poll to answer this question and we will post the answer. If you haven't guessed already the question is simple: Who's #1? And this question is for the best user, not team. This question should be an easy answer with as much as we've played each other in various leagues, but just like in college football I think we will get some interesting opinions and views. This question is strictly for on the field, head to head play, not most championships, games against the computer, no specific leagues, wash all the bias out of your minds.
We want whoever is willing to participate to compose a 6 player ranking list of users. Just think about on the field. Rank them 1-6 and pm me a list. Dont be afraid to put yourself at #1 if you think thats where you belong, this is just a curiosity poll... not even for bragging rights because if no one votes it will just be my top 6, but no one will know.
Give it some thought and I'll post the top 6 in a day or 2 so we can see who's #1Comment
